AnDy Darling: Absolutely, thank you for having me. My musical journey began when I was just 11 years old. It was like discovering a language that resonated with me on a profound level. That early initiation set the foundation for a journey marked by persistence, talent, emotional maturity, and keen intelligence—all of which, in my opinion, are crucial in navigating the competitive realm of music.

Interviewer: Your recent release, “Never Enough,” is captivating. Can you tell us about your ambitious goal of releasing a new song each month in the coming year?

AnDy Darling: Thank you! Yes, I’m incredibly excited about the year ahead. I’ve set a goal to release a new song every month. It’s a commitment to my craft and a way to challenge and express myself continually. I believe in pushing boundaries and staying true to the essence of my artistry.

Interviewer: Your musical inspiration comes from personal experiences and individuals in your life. Can you elaborate on your collaborative spirit and any upcoming projects?

AnDy Darling: Absolutely. I draw inspiration from life, and collaborations add unique dimensions to my work. While my solo career is a priority, I’m passionate about collaborating with talented artists. Exciting projects are in the pipeline for 2024, and I look forward to creating magic with fellow musicians.

Interviewer: Relocating to the United States during the pandemic must have been challenging. How has this transcontinental transition impacted your music and identity as a recording artist?

AnDy Darling: It was indeed a significant change. Over the three years since the move, I’ve navigated challenges and found newfound creative freedom and independence. This period has not only broadened my musical expression but also deepened my understanding of the music business. It’s been a maturation process, shaping my identity as a recording artist.

Interviewer: In terms of pre-stage preparations, do you have any rituals? And how do you cope with pre-performance jitters?

AnDy Darling: I don’t have a specific ritual, but I’ve contemplated incorporating meditation into my routine. It could be a game-changer for calming pre-performance nerves. It’s all part of my commitment to personal and artistic growth, ensuring I give my best on stage.

Interviewer: You’re a genre-fluid music lover. What genres resonate with you, and how do they influence your work?

AnDy Darling: Ilove exploring diverse genres—punk rock, hyperpop, R&B, jazz, and everything else. My eclectic taste allows me to draw inspiration from various musical landscapes. It adds layers to my work and keeps the creative process exciting and dynamic.

Interviewer: Plans for live performances are on the horizon. Can you share more about reclaiming your status as an artist and what opportunities you’re considering?

AnDy Darling: I’ve spent time songwriting for others, and now I’m eager to focus on my live performances. Plans are in the works, and we are exploring opportunities and considering proposals for festivals and concerts. It’s about reviving the artist within and sharing my music directly with the audience.

Interviewer: Lastly, you’ve coped with creative crises through various methods. Can you share more about your journey of healing and self-awareness?

AnDy Darling: Coping with creative crises has been a journey of constant emotional and mental work. I’ve explored EMDR therapy and meditations and even embarked on a transformative silent retreat. It’s all about self-awareness, understanding, and committing to personal growth. These experiences shape my art and my resilience in the face of challenges.
