Actor TJ Jackson is One To Watch

It takes a lot of hard work to attain success in a cutthroat industry such as the American film and entertainment industry. Fortunately, TJ Jackson has the right mindset, work ethic, and talent to make it work in an industry that’s often difficult to penetrate. TJ Jackson initially got his big break in film because of his passion and dedication to his craft. Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, TJ obtained his first acting experience during his senior year at Glen Burnie Highschool in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Eventually, TJ would become part of the student-run production at Hampton University, the Hampton Players. Together, they would, later on, achieve considerable success. 

It was at that very moment when TJ knew that he was truly where he belonged. He hasn’t looked back since then, pursuing a career in movies and entertainment out of passion. His first big break as an actor came in 2003 when he won a role on the Chris Rock comedy film Head of State

In 2016, he would then get his first significant role in the short film Swing, where he played Sean, the husband of Taylor, played by Llauryn Hendrix. TJ plays a marriage counselor who is going through a divorce. 

A year later, TJ Jackson would stumble upon great opportunities within the realm of film production. In 2017, he became the producer of the TV series Gritz. The show follows a group of teens coming of age in Atlanta, Georgia focusing on Atlanta’s who’s who, along with their friends and family.

TJ Jackson’s acting style plucks heavily from his inspirations, such as Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington. The renowned actor has not just appeared in several films, but he has also been heavily involved in the production aspect of films. His filmography continues to grow to this day as he gains more and more experience in the industry, honing his craft to perfection.

Currently, TJ Jackson has been involved with popular TV shows such as American Soul, where he played the part of a recurring recording studio manager, and the hit DC film series Doom Patrol, where he played a bartender in the episode entitled Frances Patrol. He has also been a recurring character in popular TV series like The Real Ratchets of Atlanta, Fatal Attraction, and Metropolitan. TJ Jackson also plays a part in the upcoming Hulu headliner Vacation Friends, a comedy film starring John Cena, Meredith Hagner, and Lil Rel Howery of Get Out fame. 

TJ also regularly appears on major television networks and online streaming platforms such as FOX Television Network, BET Network, ID Network, Hulu, Disney, and ABC. His reputation precedes him as he received an award for Best Local Actor in 2019 at the 72 Hour Film Festival.
