Tracey Jewel on Overcoming Anxiety and Creating the Upself Podcast to Uplift Others Enduring Similar Ordeals

The onset of the global pandemic brought a crisis on a grand scale that affected not only the economy but the livelihood of millions of people. With the imminence of a lockdown to keep people safe, people had no choice but to bring their work home. For Tracey Jewel, the lockdown gave her more insight into self-care as she balanced her career and family life. Having learned a lot, she has been sharing tips through her Upself Podcast.

Born in Australia, Tracey Jewel is the author of four female personal development books, penning Goddess Within in 2011, Don’t Mess with the Goddess in 2016, This Goddess Means Business in 2018, and recently, Decoding the Wellness Mantra this year. She has also appeared on television, featuring as a guest for Oprah Winfrey in 2011, Married at First Sight in 2018, and its reunion specials this year.

Appearing on Sunday Night, Tracey revealed how her anxiety grew after filming Married at First Sight. Because of the negative attention, her name and reputation were ruined. The mental toll became overwhelming, and for days, she was suicidal. However, Tracey sought help, interviewing hundreds of wellness professionals and learning about self-care and wellness modalities. Since then, she has taken it upon herself to uplift others enduring similar ordeals.

Outside of writing and showbiz, Tracey spends her time coaching wellness professionals with marketing strategies and collaborating with wellness experts worldwide to bring new self-care practices, products, and wellness modalities. With her brand, Upself, she has been working hard to change that stigma around self-care, educating people about how it isn’t as selfish as others believe it to be.

“We need to dive deeper than the fuzzy, vague term of self-care,” she shared. “Boundaries and dropping the guilt is the heart center of what self-care truly is, and adapting to make it a priority in our day-to-day life. Self-care isn’t just spending money on yourself—it’s spending time on yourself.”

Upself is a brand that connects people looking to overcome their anxieties with an understanding community and wellness professionals. Whether it’s emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, financial, or social needs, Tracey Jewel has the means and connection to guide people to look after themselves in a better way. Through her Upself Podcast, she has been reaching out to her listeners with practices that have helped her get through the trials and tribulations that once plagued her.

Tracey was motivated to create her brand and the Upself Podcast because of her desire to make a positive impact on women by empowering them. With both, she has been connecting wellness seekers with wellness professionals, often reminding others that they don’t have to grow and develop on their own.

Since creating Upself, Tracey Jewel and the Upself Podcast have become one of Australia’s top five podcasts in Health. Eager to change lives, she has made the podcast available on several streaming sites and apps.
