His introduction of the Goods-To-Person (GTP) system in the distribution center in Chile dramatically improved the efficiency and accuracy of the picking process. This automation solution led to a 30% surge in picking productivity, an accuracy of 99.7%, and enhanced workplace safety. Gopalsami’s second project, a warehouse control tower application, empowered DC Managers with improved operational planning and execution capabilities. The application’s deployment led to a 16% increase in DC associate productivity and a 20% reduction in trailer load time.

Further demonstrating his prowess, Gopalsami orchestrated the transformation of a leading 3P logistics provider’s Order Management System (OMS) during his time at Cognizant. By converting the legacy OMS into a modern cloud-based platform, he managed to save several million in cost, cut down the order error rate by more than 50%, and drastically enhanced customer service quality.
