For Sorel Roget, real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about people and relationships. Since entering the industry in 2014, Sorel has built a thriving career in New York City real estate, but what truly sets her apart is her motivation—a genuine desire to help people. This has resulted in a business largely built on word-of-mouth referrals and personal recommendations. Every client she takes on reflects the trust and confidence she has consistently earned over the years.
Her clients describe her as more than just a real estate agent—they call her a partner, an advocate, and even a friend. Sorel’s innate ability to connect with her clients on a personal level stems from her genuine curiosity and a talent for really listening. “I love digging deep to understand what my clients truly need,” she explains. “Sometimes, it’s about asking the questions they haven’t even thought of yet.” And according to one of her clients, “Sorel is as invested in the search as the buyer. She understands that it’s not a success unless they are truly happy with their choice for all the right reasons, so she’s in it for the long term.” This personalized, collaborative approach is a key reason why many clients confidently recommend her to friends and family, trusting she will offer exceptional guidance.
Sorel’s path to real estate is as unique as her approach. Her success is rooted in her exceptional business acumen, honed during an international career spanning hospitality and corporate leadership. With an MBA from the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne, she rose through the ranks at Starwood Hotels, overseeing revenue management systems for the Asia-Pacific region before joining the executive team that launched the W Hotel Hong Kong. Later, as Director of Sales and Marketing for an entertainment company in Asia, Sorel negotiated the company’s two largest deals, solidifying her expertise in strategy and problem-solving. Her career has spanned five countries and over 75 traveled destinations, giving her a global perspective and an appreciation for cultural diversity. These experiences have also instilled in her a strong understanding of competitive market analysis and how to meet—and often exceed—clients’ expectations.
Her first real estate transaction—selling her mother’s home after she passed—was a pivotal moment that made her deeply empathetic to the emotional side of buying and selling homes. “Real estate often involves more than just numbers; it’s about guiding people through transitions with understanding, compassion, and clarity,” she shares.
Today, Sorel leverages her unique skill set to excel in New York City’s complex real estate market. From navigating intricate co-op board applications to curating seamless buying and selling experiences, she is known for her precision and dedication. Her financial expertise and methodical approach have contributed to a strong track record, making her a valuable resource for both clients and colleagues.
Sorel’s greatest accomplishment isn’t measured solely in sales volume or awards (although she has those too)—it’s in the network of trust she’s built. “I genuinely enjoy working with people from all walks of life, regardless of price point,” Sorel explains. Her integrity, patience, and consistent results have turned satisfied clients into loyal advocates. One client referred her to five others, four of whom purchased homes and later recommended her to additional buyers, including one’s parents. “That kind of trust and connection is incredibly meaningful to me,” she says. “It shows that my approach resonates on both a professional and personal level.”
Her role as a Certified Professional Coach adds another dimension to her work. Sorel leverages her coaching skills to guide clients through major life transitions—whether moving, getting married, or navigating career changes—offering support and strategies that extend beyond real estate. Her ability to listen attentively, empathize, and provide tailored advice ensures clients feel supported and confident during these pivotal moments.
When she’s not with clients, you might find Sorel exploring her passion for wine and cocktails—she’s a certified sommelier—or spending time with her family in California. No matter where she is, she’s always thinking about how she can help make the next chapter of her clients’ lives extraordinary.
