Sara Davoodi Redefining Traditional Skincare Through Athar’a Pure

Image internally provided

Sara Davoodi is the founder and CEO of Athar’a Pure, a natural, vegan, premium skincare line made out of rare, precious botanicals from the East and built around the over 5000-year-old wisdom of Ayurveda. Sara, a mother of 2 from Chicago, started making beauty products as a hobby but has turned into a fully thriving business within a short while.

The name Athar’a Pure was coined from Sara’s late ‘Nonni’ (grandmother) Athar, whom she described as a truly remarkable woman who played a vital role in her upbringing. Starting the company was out of Sara’s love for plant botanicals, and their medicinal and beauty benefits were instilled in Sara at a young age. Sara Davoodi wants to honor her grandmother with a brand that celebrates her generous spirit and love for plants and animals.

Athar’a Pure started as an Indie Beauty brand without any investors, relying on Sara’s passion and love for natural ingredients and the dream to keep her family traditions alive. Traditions that have long adorned the beauty make-up of brides in Pakistan and India and continue to this day. Athar’a Pure produces completely natural skincare products based on their family traditions and rituals, using unique plant botanicals, herbs, and spices such as neem, Turmeric, coffee Arabica, pomegranates, rice, and other nutrient and antioxidant-rich superfoods.

Sara is now re-launching her cosmetic production line with an updated website, upscale, sustainable packaging, improved formulations, and new products. Athar’a Pure believes that their ancestors helped pave the way for much of what natural skincare is today – handcrafting both medicinal and beauty treatments in the Ayurvedic tradition and passed down this expertise over generations.

On what separates her from her competition, Sara said, “Athar’a Pure is on a mission to leave a legacy of positive impact for the planet. We partner with organizations like Trees for Life to plant nutritious moringa trees in impoverished communities worldwide. We are also committed to zero-waste packaging, with most of our components being glass, cardboard, and biodegradable packaging peanuts and minimal to no plastic components. The line is also certified vegan and cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny and Peta.” Every ingredient is prepared with the utmost care and considered for its efficiency and holistic healing benefits for the body, skin, spirit, and mind. Athar’a Pure is the culmination of rich family traditions, powerful science, and above all, love.

In five years, Sara would want her line of products to be the preferred vegan and cruelty-free skincare line in the green beauty market. She wants Athar’a to be recognized for her contributions to the planet and creating a legacy that positively impacts our planet and wildlife.

Sara is ready for the world to know about the uniqueness of Athar’a Pure. “Athar’a Pure’s unique line of products is meant to bring centuries of knowledge, rich heritage, and exotic eastern plant botanicals to you in a way that is accessible and works with a modern lifestyle.”
