R. Couri Hay Creative Public Relations Unveils a New Website and Expanded Editorial Platform

By Jeremy Murphy

R. Couri Hay Creative Public Relations, the New York City firm founded by publicist and society columnist R. Couri Hay in 1990, has launched a redesigned website at rcourihay.com. The new site does two jobs at once. It shows prospective clients exactly what the agency does, and it serves as the home of Couri’s Columns, Hay’s editorial platform covering entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, travel, celebrities, wellness, philanthropy and society.

What’s new on rcourihay.com

This is more than a cosmetic redesign. “This is a major expansion for us,” says Hay. “The new site is bigger, bolder, and packed with much more content. At the same time, we’ve completely refreshed how we showcase the agency, our clients and our work. It really feels like a new chapter for us.”

The relaunch brings three changes visitors will notice first:

  • Clear service pages. Each discipline now has its own page explaining what the team does and how it works, from publicity and media relations to crisis management.
  • Proof of results. Clippings from The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vogue, People, Page Six, Town & Country and more show the level of coverage the firm secures. The full archive sits under Recent Press.
  • A larger editorial section. Couri’s Columns is now organized into News, Lifestyle, Entertainment and Opinions & Columns, each with its own subsections.

Who is R. Couri Hay?

R. Couri Hay began his career in 1971 as one of the original contributing editors at Interview magazine, working for Andy Warhol. He has described Warhol as a close friend and mentor, and wrote about what he learned from Andy Warhol in Couri’s Columns. As a student at American University he studied creative writing under Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award winner Larry McMurtry, who taught at both American and Georgetown and gave Hay college credit for his early Interview work.

Over the following decades Hay wrote for Town & Country and People and contributed to Hamptons, Gotham and Travel Squire. He became a familiar television commentator on celebrity, entertainment and pop culture for CNN, FOX, PBS, The Today Show, E! News, MSNBC, ABC’s Primetime Live and VH1. Today he is the Co-founder and Editorial Director of Park Magazine, Arts and Culture Editor for Mann About Town and Travel Editor for Social Life Magazine.

About the firm: four decades of media relationships

While Hay was building his name as a journalist, he was also building relationships with editors, reporters and the people they covered. When he founded the firm in 1990, those relationships became its foundation. Today the agency secures press for clients across luxury, entertainment, fashion, hospitality, healthcare, philanthropy, real estate and legal services.

Its services span media relations and publicity, branding, strategic communications, event press, social media and crisis management. Clients have included Prada, Harry Winston, Bergdorf Goodman, Bulgari, Krug and Veuve Clicquot. The firm is also rooted in New York’s cultural and philanthropic life, with work for The Juilliard School, Live at Lincoln Center, American Ballet Theatre, the American Heart Association and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Since 2017 the firm has been recognized among Expertise’s top public relations agencies in New York City every year.

The agency side: what clients will find

The agency pages are written for decision-makers weighing a PR partner. They explain each strategy in plain terms, with no vague promises, and back it with published coverage. As a luxury PR agency in NYC, the firm also sets out the industries it serves: luxury, philanthropy, art, celebrity, fashion, hospitality, beauty, healthcare, retail, legal, real estate and technology.

Companies and individuals considering representation can start a conversation through the PR Agency Inquiry form.

The editorial side: inside Couri’s Columns

Couri’s Columns gives readers Hay’s view of the culture he has covered for five decades. The Entertainment section covers new films, emerging actors, musicians and filmmakers, and news on established stars. The Lifestyle section follows fashion designers, wellness trends and luxury travel.

Travel is a particular specialty. Hay has written about Chantilly, Mykonos, Gstaad and Champagne, and reviewed hotels including the St. James in Paris, the Rosewood London and Round Hill in Jamaica. Browse more in Travel & Experiences.

The result is a site where sharp editorial content and public relations experience sit side by side. Readers come for the latest from high society. Brands and public figures come to learn how to get their own story told.
