Own Boss was founded by Chris Bluga and Frank Lacaria. 27-year-old Christopher Bluga grew up in Novi, Michigan. After earning his Automotive Management degree from Ferris State University, he remodelled kitchens and bathrooms. Frank Lacaria, 24, is from Livonia, MI. In high school, he started his own business. The company cuts concrete.

In 2020, Frank Lacarias and Christopher Bluga opened Own Boss Supply Co. in his parents’ basement. Due to Covid-19, 2020 was a tough year. After Covid-19 hurt their company, Chris and Frank’s goals changed. Frank Lacaria wanted to start a business to change his life. Trucks will transform lives, he hoped. Frank called his friend Chris, whom he knew from the automotive industry, and asked if he wanted to start a firm.

“Every set-up we give away alters the winners’ life,” said the team. 13 sets at $250,000 each have been handed away. We’ve donated almost $3 million since starting this company. Our 13 winners have been offered opportunity to improve their life. They had everything they needed to launch their own business. We let them be self-employed and enjoy the independence that brings. Our business’s mission is to improve as many lives as possible, whether by giving them a truck, trailer, or piece of equipment or by offering them ideas through our social media channels and entrepreneurial-themed apparel line.”

In Frank’s parents’ basement, they worked 18-hour days to create Own Boss Supply. They wanted to help someone else. These two businessmen started a company to help people launch their own businesses.
