The upcoming NFT (or non-fungible token) community known as Mutant Mingos is one of the very few and first spaces that will purchase and fractionalize digital land in the metaverse, such as The Sandbox, Decentraland, and other pieces of digital real estate. It is also part of the few token communities that intend to give away digital lands to all of its members once all of its tokens are sold. This comes as an exciting revelation to avid NFT collectors and investors who are not just into expanding their token collection but also their digital territories within the blockchain.
Set to launch publicly on Dec. 13 on the Ethereum blockchain, the community will offer 10,000 tokens up for minting. For those who wish to be whitelisted, they need to follow Mutant Mingos on Twitter, join the Mutant Mingos Discord server, invite five of their friends, and actively participate in the chat. The top 250 active individuals will qualify for the whitelist sale, which will be held one hour before the public sale at 5 PM EST. Interested digital art collectors and passionate NFT fans can purchase the tokens priced at 0.07 ETH via the community’s website.
Once a holder mints a Mutant Mingo, the randomly generated character will be automatically delivered to the owner’s MetaMask wallet. The holders then have the option to sell their tokens on their OpenSea accounts. Each token automatically grants its owner voting rights over the fractionalized assets.
To be able to buy the Mutant Mingos, potential holders should have some ETH on hand, which can be bought on Coinbase or Crypto.com. For those who are just new to the blockchain, they need to create a MetaMask wallet using its extension version for Google Chrome or the MetaMask Android and iOS apps. Once these are in place, future holders should transfer the ETH to their MetaMask wallet. It is worth noting, however, that Ethereum charges gas fees for every transaction. This means that people should have more than enough ETH in their wallets to proceed smoothly. During minting day, buyers need only to click the mint button once the public sales are live.
The Mutant Mingo characters are considered a rare and unique kind of collection as it features the mutated version of the lovable pink flamingos. It draws from 120 different kinds of traits and combines a couple of them to form a distinct avatar that holders are sure to fall in love with. At first glance, the Mutant Mingo avatars are not one of the usual head-turners within the metaverse. But a closer look reveals their intricacies and complexity, which puts together different kinds of skins, accessories, eyewear, headgear, and shirts, among others. Among all the mutated kinds of characters available in the metaverse, this one deserves a second look.
A private decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) will be developed for holders once minting reaches 15%. Meanwhile, 5% of the secondary sale royalties will be allotted for purchasing the metaverse land for the DAO. As the minting progresses, the same percentage of digital land will also be given away to holders.
