Naja Hall, a native of Memphis, TN, has become a prominent figure in the realm of blended families and stepmother support. Since 2007, she has called Harlem, New York City home, where she has continued to build and nurture communities that provide guidance and support to those navigating the complexities of modern family dynamics. Naja is the founder of Blended and Black, the largest blended family community for millennials, and VIPStepmom.com, a dedicated space for stepmothers. Alongside these endeavors, she indulges her passion for comedy writing through her project, Dating Debacles.
Naja’s educational journey began at the University of Tennessee, where she earned a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She then pursued an MBA in International Business at the University of North Texas. During her time in Dallas, TX, she embarked on a career as a corporate buyer. However, it was during a reflective moment in her office that she realized corporate life was not her true calling. Inspired to break away from the monotony she observed in her colleagues, Naja decided to follow her passion for helping families and left the corporate world behind.
Naja’s diverse background and extensive education have equipped her with a unique skill set that she leverages in her current roles. She is an active member of the National Council of Family Relations as a Certified Family Life Educator and a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Additionally, she holds a membership in the American Bar Association as a Dispute Resolution Associate and serves as the Life Coach for The Collective Legal Crisis and Management firm.
Naja’s commitment to family and consumer sciences is evident in her work with Blended and Black. This community offers a supportive environment for individuals and families dealing with the challenges of blending families. It provides resources, advice, and a sense of belonging to its members, helping them navigate the often-complicated dynamics of step-parenting and blended family life. VIPStepmom.com, another of Naja’s initiatives, focuses specifically on stepmothers, providing them with a space to share experiences, seek advice, and find solidarity.
