Experience is undoubtedly the greatest teacher in life. Whether the outcome is good or bad, people often come out with new learnings that can help them improve to become better versions of themselves. Author, entrepreneur, and interview authority Travis C. Patterson has over a decade of experience improving the candidate experience utilizing resume writing, interview coaching, workshop facilitating, and book authoring.
Travis Patterson has walked through nearly everything imaginable, making it easier for him to connect and relate to people. His life has seen him fight against racism his entire life, going to college, enlisting in the Navy, going through a failed marriage, experiencing his father passing away, becoming homeless, and so many more. Despite all the hardships, Travis’ misfortune would eventually turn around. He found opportunities that allowed him to travel, find promotions, relocating, buying his first home, and only recently got engaged to be married.
Things took a turn for the better seven years ago when he entered the job market involuntarily and immediately became his own first client. Travis then created a brand of service through interview coaching and resume writing, which resulted in him earning a reputation as a human resource advocate. He decided to officially run a business to help write resumes and coach for interviews. Travis would gain hundreds of clients and write his first book titled “CoachTCP’s Playbook to Getting An Interview in 24 Hours.”
Along with Travis’s reputation and faith, the book helped him obtain his first speaking opportunity with a huge pharmaceutical company. When people heard that he took only four hours to complete his book, they asked him for mentorship on book writing. Travis Patterson is publishing his third book on the first of December 2020, titled Interview Activator: Playbook to Overnight Interview Magnetism. The book will not only help people get hired but also act as a guide to improve emotional intelligence during the interview process.
With a passion for helping others, Travis has involved himself with the community and helped feed the homeless, mentor young people on leadership, book writing, and entrepreneurship, and advocate for equal housing. Travis also supports international allies of the United Nations as an online volunteer for nonprofits. Travis would also create PRR Training & Consulting, an organization in the Atlanta area that offers career & interview coaching to job candidates, recruiters, nonprofit and for-profit organizations. He also made a unique platform with PRR Training & Consulting called The Interview Accelerator.
It is an Edu-Tech self-paced interview process improvement platform set to improve the user’s interview experience. It is accessible for most industries, as Travis intended to make it beneficial for everyone. The Interview Accelerator tailors personalized answers to interview questions that aren’t stiff and scripted. They improve and increase confidence in learning what to do before, during, and after interviews. Their techniques aren’t limited to in-person interviews as they improve phone, video, and group interview techniques. The platform also shows how to improve credit, as credit reports can also be a deciding factor in employment.
Having done so much for communities, Travis Patterson was recognized and awarded by the NAACP based on leadership, entrepreneurship, and community involvement. He was also given a Top 20 Under-40 Professionals Award. Travis plans to pursue more relationships in other countries and improve the interview experience for different cultures in multiple languages. Having already helped people in East Africa, Australia, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom, Travis plans to create a non-profit designed to help children of different cultures & languages fight illiteracy in North America & other countries. It would also support senior high school students, and college students prepare for the workforce before graduation with free interview coaching.
