From Code to Compassion: Entrepreneur Joshua Geyfman’s Charitable Journey

In this increasingly connected world, digital innovation is becoming an exciting game where every business and individual is striving to come up with the next big thing. In a realm where visibility and engagement are the keys to business growth, the power of impeccable marketing strategies cannot be overlooked. This is where young entrepreneur Joshua Geyfman stands out not just for his technical prowess but also for his commitment to tech philanthropy. At just 17 years old, Joshua has already made significant strides in the tech industry with his full-service digital agency, Starbreak, and his charitable initiative, Starstruck, which offers mentorship programs to aspiring entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Joshua’s journey began in New Canaan, Connecticut, where he currently attends New Canaan High School. From a young age, Joshua displayed a knack for business, starting with a simple candy-selling venture in fifth grade. However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that he discovered his passion for coding. This new skill set led him to develop sneaker bots, software tools designed to secure limited-edition footwear and collectibles. His coding ventures quickly evolved into a lucrative business, ultimately culminating in the creation of Starbreak.

In 2022, at the age of 15, Joshua’s entrepreneurial journey took an unexpected turn. While navigating a challenging business partnership, he witnessed firsthand the importance of trust and mentorship, particularly for young and aspiring entrepreneurs. This experience fueled his desire to create Starstruck, a charitable initiative that offers free mentorship programs to developers in developing countries. Starstruck aims to empower these individuals and equip them with the tools and guidance they need to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape.

Today, Starbreak is recognized as a leading software development agency specializing in web design and development, brand strategy, content marketing, and more. The agency’s commitment to excellence and innovation is evident in every project. Whether developing minimum viable products (MVPs) or full-scale software solutions, the Starbreak team, guided by Joshua’s vision, focuses on accelerating business growth and transforming digital ideas into reality.

Parallel to his business endeavors, Joshua launched Starstruck, a non-profit aimed at empowering developers from third-world countries. Driven by a desire to give back, Starstruck provides a two-month mentorship program that is completely free of charge. This initiative reflects Joshua’s deep-seated belief in the transformative power of education and mentorship, particularly in underserved communities.

The inspiration for both Starbreak and Starstruck stems from Joshua’s lifelong passion for entrepreneurship and his fascination with coding. As he managed the rapid growth of his agency, he also envisioned a platform where he could share his knowledge and resources with others. This led to the formation of Starstruck, which has been fine-tuning its mentorship structure to kick off its first cohort in June 2024. Although it’s a young charity, Starstruck has already assisted over 20 developers in kick-starting their online businesses.

Managing both a burgeoning business and a non-profit has not been without challenges. Initially, Joshua struggled with balancing client acquisition and project delivery. Traditional methods like cold calling proved inefficient, prompting him to innovate a new lead generation system utilizing messaging platforms. This strategic pivot not only enhanced client inflow but also improved project management, allowing Joshua and his team to deliver higher-quality work more efficiently.

At the helm of a six-figure agency and a pioneering charity, Joshua’s journey exemplifies the power of combining business acumen with a humanitarian spirit. His unique and modern approach to software applications has set him apart in the industry and also laid a strong foundation for his future goals. Looking ahead, Joshua envisions expanding Starbreak to serve international clients and take on larger projects, aiming to grow the agency to eight figures.

Joshua Geyfman’s story is a vivid example of how young minds can bridge the gap between technology and compassion. Through Starbreak and Starstruck, he continues to inspire and lead in both the realms of business and charity, paving the way for a new generation of tech-driven philanthropists.
