How Juliet Obodo Used Hypnotherapy to Recover From Burnout and Implements It to Help Others

A popular theme in fictional literature, film, and television is hypnosis. It is often depicted in various forms, from a supernatural power to a manipulative method of seduction, concealing or unveiling the truth.

In reality, hypnosis is a mental state of highly-focused concentration. People often enter these trances under the guide of hypnotherapists using mental images and verbal repetition. It is one of the most effective methods therapists use to help people cope with stress and anxiety. Entrepreneur Juliet Obodo was able to experience hypnosis after going through burnout from work.

Juliet Obodo is a resident of New York City. She graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After her studies, she proceeded with tech sales.

From there, Juliet would find work in the corporate world and continue in that career for over ten years. She left so she could run her own businesses. Juliet would start a design agency called The Chic Collective, as well as a business funding startup called Central Payment.

Running one business is already exhausting as it is, but Juliet managed to run two and even succeeded in turning them into six-figure businesses. Like any other business owner, she was proud to have reached such a milestone. However, she found herself burned out. Juliet experienced exhaustion in physical and mental aspects. Knowing that she would lose everything she worked for, if she gave in, Juliet sought out a solution.

Juliet would rediscover neuro-linguistic programming (NPL) and hypnosis, two subjects she had studied earlier as a student. NPL is often used to help patients with personal development by promoting their skills through self-reflection, confidence, and communication. This was something that would help Juliet improve her productivity.

Taking inspiration from her experience, she began to coach other business owners going through similar problems. The reward of seeing others thrive better drove Juliet to earn her certification as a Master Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner. She studied for her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Ancestral Trauma.

Juliet would later found FWRD Institute, where they helped individuals through personal and professional development programs for startups. Because people tend to overthink, especially young and budding entrepreneurs, Juliet developed several methods of hypnosis specifically designed for them. These methods have helped her clients turn their habit of overthinking into their superpower by tapping into their subconscious minds so they can hit their individual or even team goals.

Juliet and the institute offer a program that helps people dealing with imposter syndrome, a lack of motivations, and winter blues called Get Your Mind Right. The program sees people, individuals or groups, undergo a two-hour therapy session to identify what’s hindering them from reaching their next level of success. In this process, they remove the mental blocks and reset their subconscious to allow them to move forward.

Juliet has helped clients of all occupations, from entrepreneurs, professionals, students, and even celebrities, get through their inner turmoil allowing them to find new opportunities by defeating their addiction and depression. She is hoping to help younger clients, especially millennials, in leadership roles so that they can avoid health pitfalls.
