Changing one’s nutrition habits requires more than a diet; it’s about changing the way we relate to food. However, the matter is not that simple because healthy food is usually hard to find, expensive, and requires dedication. Nonetheless, this is a subject that every human being should address as soon as possible. The World Health Organization has already stated that good food habits can prevent diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular issues.
The problem
Exercising every day is important, but this is nothing if it’s not accompanied by a healthy diet. Thus, every person should balance the following elements to be in optimal health: proteins, carbohydrates, fat, minerals, vitamins, and water. Luckily, our society is learning to accept these changes, which contributes to creating a friendlier environment for those who truly want healthier nutrition.
But the elephant in the room is that healthy food is expensive and not as readily available as other options, despite the improvements that have been made in this regard. Moreover, the products you get through traditional farming and agriculture are no longer sustainable since the population is growing exponentially, a fact that became evident within the last two decades.
The solution
There’s an innovative startup that intends to revolutionize the food industry. B. Green brings a solution that is soon to be launched into the market – functional food. In other words, it’s the food of the future, as it ticks all the boxes: it’s nutritious, sustainable, and organic.
What is B. Green?
B. Green is based on microalgae and comes in packets. It’s food without decoration, smell, or taste. It requires minimum preparation, as the person needs to pour the content into a cup and then add water. With these simple steps, you’ll have a 100% fresh breakfast that covers almost all the nutrients a person needs for a whole day.
Microalgae are an important source of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are essential for human beings and help them reduce, among other things, cardiovascular diseases. In countries like Peru, Germany, Japan, India, and Mexico, some species of microalgae are considered a great dietary complement.
The B. Green team has been able to create an innovative product that covers almost all the nutrients a modern person needs. Each pack contains 70% proteins and a complete set of nutrients that are essential for the human body. Moreover, they are delivered in a format that’s easy to digest.
This product also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping promote body regeneration and stabilize metabolic processes. Most importantly, it’s not forbidden by any state and is accepted by all religions. A person can prepare it in as little as one minute.
Why B. Green is the food of the future
Saving time and money
The demands of the modern world are many. If we analyze the family dynamics nowadays, we see that both parents have to work, leaving less time for getting quality products and cooking. People don’t have time to prepare healthy, homemade food and do the dishes, let alone grow their own fruits and vegetables. Moreover, the world is increasingly moving towards sedentarism as digital development is leading us toward virtual reality. With , lack of time won’t be an issue anymore because consumers can prepare, in only one minute, a meal that covers all their nutrients.
Healing the body and preventing diseases
Thanks to this product, people get vitamins, amino acids, and macro- and microelements in an organic format. Everything they need is right there in the packet.
Improving finances and increasing capital
- Green has an innovative approach because it will allow consumers to “turn their health into income.” Consumers of B. Green will be able to convert accumulated discounts into company shares.
About the project’s origins
One of the best advantages of B. Green for investors is that it has a unique technology developed by the very founders of the project.
The startup was created in 2015 by Alim Kunakh, a Ukrainian entrepreneur. He founded the B. Green project, inspired by his life and needs. While doing research to solve his chronic health problems, he discovered microalgae and learned about the positive effects it has on the human body. Firstly, he tried the already available options, but they were based on dry additives. Soon he understood that the effect was weak and only lasted for a short period. This is how he got the idea of trying fresh microalgae.
So, he set out to grow his own specimens in hydroponics. After a long process of trial and error, he learned to grow his own microalgae and started taking it daily. In a few weeks, this product was already working wonders for his body.
He built a bioreactor to grow the microalgae and tested different technologies. After a while, Alim was able to sell his product, and, most importantly, he managed to keep his sales rate even during the quarantine.
On February 24th 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and the team had to keep working practically under fire since they were 30 kilometers away from the front line. At that point, the main goal was to save the project, and they succeeded.
Now B. Green is building a large bioreactor in Europe and preparing to enter markets like the UK, Switzerland, and the European Union. The next target will be US, Middle East and the Asia. Hence, the investors that decide to enter at this stage will be the ones to see better profits.
Currently, the company of the startup, Biological&Healthcare Technologies Corporation, is incorporated in the United States in full compliance with taxes and local regulations.
Why invest in B. Green?
Right now the startup has raised over a million euros and is preparing itself for the next funding round. B. Green aims to take over US, Middle East, and the Asia functional food market in the near future.
Business model and profits
Direct online sales to end customers: It’s estimated that buyers will have two intakes a day for the cost of a cup of coffee.
Subscriptions: Clients will be able to buy $100 yearly subscriptions and access a 10% discount for all future orders.
Thus, if the team for example estimates a number of 2,500 consumers (only 0,0018% of the people that want to lose weight), the project expects revenue of 5 million dollars a year. Minus expenses, the net profit would be 2 million dollars. All in all, this is quite an interesting return, especially if we consider that this is only for one bioreactor. The B. Green team is planning to build 100 bioreactors like this one in 5 years. Investors need to simply do the basic math to understand the kind of profit that awaits them.
Also, commercialization of the product is implemented directly with the end customer. Without the need for third parties and providers, B. Green constitutes a very stable product and promises good profit and stable growth.
Advantages over other products
Production
When compared with soy, for example, microalgae have lots of advantages. While soy can be harvested during a certain season, B. green can be developed year-round. Also, the bioreactor does not depend on conditions like the climate and does not require arable land.
Ecology
When operating a bioreactor, we utilize carbon and produce oxygen, thereby reducing our carbon footprint. Growing microalgae is environmentally friendly, as it doesn’t require large extensions of land and water. This is a great opportunity to invest in a sustainable project.
Delivery
B. Green is delivered in special boxes that maintain the temperature at -5 degrees Celsius (the delivery technology is our author’s development). It doesn’t require dry ice and can be delivered by traditional couriers. Moreover, the product was tested in markets like Ukraine and Greece and has proven to be stable. The team has optimized all the key processes: production, marketing, sales, and delivery.
B. Green is an excellent opportunity for both consumers and investors. The former can improve health in all aspects without the need to waste time on complicated recipes or diets. Parallelly, investors have the opportunity to make a profit while contributing to the environment. Reducing the use of agricultural land and the generation of carbon dioxide is everyone’s responsibility, and here’s a great chance to make projects and still support sustainable ones.
