Leadership and coaching often feel like an exclusive club, but Vicky Regan is breaking barriers and building bridges. As a certified executive coach and founder of Hone Leadership, Vicky has been influencing and empowering leaders worldwide, inspiring them to lead with authenticity, confidence, and impact. Along with guiding leaders toward professional success, Vicky creates a culture of mentorship and growth that benefits individuals, organizations, and communities.
Vicky’s development as an inspiring individual started young. As a teenager, she joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), where she learned the principles of aerospace education, leadership training, and service. But CAP offered more than technical skills; it instilled values like mentorship, integrity, and collaboration. Inspired by her uncle Jim, a pilot with “an infectious passion for flying,” Vicky realized the power of encouragement and support. This experience laid the foundation for her belief in the ripple effect of mentorship: a single act of guidance can create waves of positive change.
After entering the professional world, Vicky faced challenges that many women in male-dominated industries know all too well. At one company, Vicky was sharply reminded of the significant gender imbalance, as women made up a small fraction of the workforce. Rather than let these experiences discourage her, Vicky used them as stepping stones. She became a champion for women’s mentorship, launching programs, creating support networks, and empowering women to excel in environments that weren’t built with them in mind.
Hone Leadership is Vicky’s manifestation of her desire to help women achieve all they are capable of. She strives to see her clients grow, and she achieves this through her programs focusing on improving leadership and confidence and creating room for growth. Whether working one-on-one with clients or delivering workshops to organizations, Vicky aims to help women lead authentically and thrive in their professional lives.
One of her recent projects is her chapter, The Ripple Effect, in the Amazon best-selling book The Coaching Corner, authored by multiple world-renowned coaches. Vicky’s chapter discusses the impact of mentorship, which is exhibited by small acts like simply showing up and providing support that, in turn, amplifies voices. Mentors, according to Vicky, lift others while climbing and, in turn, also grow and evolve alongside the mentees. Mentors also develop leadership capabilities; when they inspire one person, they initiate a chain reaction that results in a community of thriving individuals.
Beyond her book chapter, Vicky offers a myriad of coaching programs for organizations and individuals, focusing on various leadership concerns, workload organization, feedback, and 1:1 meetings. She believes the role of the mentor extends beyond being perfect and having all the answers and is much closer to listening, providing perspective, and leading through critical thinking. Her approach resonates with clients, who describe her as insightful, supportive, and empowering.
Vicky’s work is powerful and significant because she understands women’s mentorship and its main concerns. She firmly believes that women can do everything if they support other women. However, she also coaches male clients, all of whom find her insightful and inspiring. By creating spaces where all leaders can learn, grow, and uplift one another, Vicky is shaping the future of mentorship.
