Entrepreneur Emiliette Morales, better known as Memeliette, is changing the way most people see cookbooks — a collection of recipes that people can easily follow when cooking for their families or a special occasion. In her newly released cookbook titled à la carte, she not only shares special recipes from 45 different countries, but she also touches on each country’s culture, its people, and their way of life.
Inspired by her love for traveling and sharing these experiences with other people, the 27-year-old business owner of EMAK Productions is particularly focused on highlighting international brands from people to food and places. Traveling to different countries located in Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Europe gave Memeliette a wider perspective of the global food industry and how to bring it in the homes of individuals who are not privileged to reach these exciting locations. à la carte is an exciting journey that intends to inspire families to enjoy cooking their homes as a way to bond and a means to elaborate on the rich culture of other nations.
Memeliette completed her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago. She got her master’s degree in international business from Hult International Business School in London. Prior to developing her businesses, she had the opportunity to work in two big companies where she developed her business acumen and creativity. While so many cringe at the idea of having to deal with the pressures of corporate life, Memeliette found it very enriching and empowering at the same time. She believes that her time in the corporate world prepared her significantly for the challenges that come with owning her own business.
Aside from EMAK Productions, Memeliette is currently making preparations to launch her delivery-only fine pasta service in Plano, Texas. She calls her new venture Emilia’s Cucina. On top of her new venture, she is also making time to grow her YouTube channel, Memeliette Abroad, which features videos expounding on the recipes included in her cookbook. Her videos also give practical traveling tips designed to let her viewers make the most of every trip without compromising their peace of mind and opportunity to have fun. As she is a very well-traveled individual, she believes that she has accumulated enough learnings to want people about the dos and don’ts when traveling.
In the next few years, Memeliette targets releasing a sequel of à la carte. She is also toying with the idea of coming up with an international dessert cookbook and a Christmas around the world theme that will highlight food being prepared in different parts of the world in December.
