Imagine living in a smart home that offers all the typical luxuries and conveniences of a traditional high-end home, but is a fraction of the size of the average home and is designed to complement a sustainable lifestyle. Eclipse Cottages is paving the way for a new generation of tiny homes that enable residents to reduce their carbon footprint, decrease the way their daily lives negatively impact the environment, and create investments that homeowners can reap benefits from in the future.
Eclipse Cottages’ new tiny home cottage model, called “Comet,” plans to hit the market and become the new standard for sustainable tiny home living. These self-sustaining homes will be installed with new technology such as plug-n-play anywhere, transportation, and even off-grid compatibility through solar panel technology. Best of all, however, is that Eclipse Cottages will be extremely cost-effective, with payment plans as low as $99 per month.
The new cottage model enables residents to relocate wherever they wish on their own time without the worries of major expenses like moving, cost of living, taxes, HOAs, energy bills, or house hunting — all of which can add further costs, especially when a real estate agent is involved. Eclipse aims to consistently push the boundaries on sustainability and affordability by striving to create the most eco-friendly home known to man.
Traditionally, sustainable homes have been known to cost approximately $400,000 on average, according to the census bureau. Most people wouldn’t think of a sustainable home being this costly, but a wide array of premium materials and innovative technologies go into establishing them as self-sustaining residences. When one adds on the cost of labor needed to construct these homes as well as the land they may sit on, it begins adding up to a high cost for something no bigger than a 600-sqft apartment. This, however, is why Eclipse is dedicated to creating models that are as cost-efficient as possible while still providing a luxurious space to call home.
When customers consider purchasing one of Eclipse’s units, the company helps them map out their finances. They even offer educational resources on solar tax credits, loans, and alternative payments such as cryptocurrency or NFTs.
“At Eclipse, we’ve developed our internal financing. Currently, it’s only available when you live in an Eclipse Village, but we hope to expand on that offering soon. We’ve made the process extremely easy. It involves a simple one-page application, signing the final paperwork, and closing,” says the founder and CEO of Eclipse, Justin Draplin. Eclipse ensures the highest quality of eco-friendly materials at the most affordable price, all made possible by partnering with industry leaders in steel, timber, and eco-friendly technology.
“The new model, the Comet, will be available to order beginning on November 15, 2022,” Draplin says. “Additionally, our new Comet model will not require permitting like our 399 square foot models, so we’re excited for residents to be able to order their homes more quickly because of this.” Financing is currently limited to the new Comet model as well, but the Eclipse financing team is working on a larger rollout to offer financing options for all of the models, meaning aspiring self-sustaining homeowners can start ordering their units sooner at affordable rates.
