COMPASS Georgia Gains Major Asset: Meet Liza DiMarco

By: John Glover (MBA)

Veteran Savannah real estate agent Liza DiMarco has joined COMPASS Georgia, which recently opened a Savannah office. DiMarco will operate the first satellite office in the city’s Landmark District.

DiMarco previously worked as a luxury home marketing and sales expert at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Bay Street Realty Group | Cora Bett Thomas Realty in Savannah, where she had been since 2015. Before that, she was at Sotheby’s International Realty in Santa Barbara, California, and Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty in Manhasset, New York. She entered real estate in 1998.

COMPASS opened its first Savannah office last month with the affiliation of local agent Trisha Cook and her team of 20 agents.

“I made the move to COMPASS for many reasons. All have to do with better service to my clients,” DiMarco said in an announcement. “The support, technology, and the caliber of the agents COMPASS attracts are in alignment with my high expectations for optimum service to my clients. I am also very excited about opening a COMPASS satellite office in the historic district of Savannah.”

In a recent interview, DiMarco shared insights into her journey and approach in the real estate industry. “I got started in real estate quite serendipitously,” she explained. “A woman showing me houses thought I’d be good at it, and being a single parent with two kids, I needed a healthier income than what I had.”

What kept her in the business was the joy of helping people realize their dreams of owning a home. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to help someone move to something that’s more fulfilling to them,” she said. DiMarco’s dedication goes beyond just buying and selling homes. She offers a concierge service, assisting clients with everything from finding decorators, painters, and construction people to helping them discover the best places to eat and social connections in their new community.

Her experience with multiple moves—starting in New York, then LA, and Santa Barbara—taught her the importance of helping clients acclimate to new environments. “Helping somebody get acclimated to the community is so important because I’ve been there,” she shared.

DiMarco’s attention to detail and marketing prowess have set her apart. She focuses on making homes impeccable before they hit the market and uses photos and videos to tell a compelling story about each property. “The photos have to move a story along, giving the vision of actually living in the house,” she explained.

Joining COMPASS has provided DiMarco with a larger platform to utilize her skills. “Compass is geared not just to normal agents but to the uber-luxury market, five million, ten million, and above,” she noted. This alignment is crucial as her clientele often includes properties worth two million and above.

Her plans for the new satellite office in Savannah reflect her high standards and vision for growth. “I’m going to grow the COMPASS brand in Savannah, bringing on agents who share my high standards,” she said. “The resources and tools Compass offers are unmatched, making it easier and faster for my clients to realize their dreams.”

Savannah’s real estate market is growing rapidly, attracting high-end luxury properties. DiMarco sees Savannah as a convenient and attractive location with its proximity to Charleston, Jacksonville, and Atlanta, and direct flights from major cities like New York and Chicago.

Compass’s private exclusives and concierge program also excite DiMarco. “I can list a property and put it out to 47,000+ agents nationally because we are one company,” she explained. The Compass Concierge program helps sellers upgrade their homes before selling, often resulting in a higher final sales price without any interest charges on the loan.

Her marketing skills and dedication to her clients have earned her a reputation as one of the top producers in the real estate industry. “I’ve been recognized as one of the top producers nationally, and I bring that dedication to every client I work with,” she said.

DiMarco’s move to Compass is a strategic step to level up her services, providing her clients with a streamlined, high-quality experience. “With Compass, I can offer more resources, better technology, and support to my clients, ensuring they get their ideal outcome whether they’re buying or selling,” she concluded.
