Caroline Adegun is the powerhouse behind the first nonprofit talent development firm in LA, The Hollywood Wingwoman. Caroline Adegun considers herself to be a people builder. Her passion for enriching others’ lives through direct one-on-one outreach, tangible resources, and empowerment is why she established The Hollywood Wingwoman.
It is a story far too often heard: a dreamer steps out in faith, quits their stable full-time job, and moves to Hollywood with $500 to fulfill their dreams of becoming a singer, musician, artist, or entertainer.
Sadly, these stories often do not have a fairytale ending. Countless creatives are faced with the choice to survive or invest in their careers once they arrive in Hollywood. The cost of photoshoots, workshops, and equipment to launch their careers seem to always get pushed to the bottom of their priority list when rent is due and dinner has to be on the table every night. Many artists end up homeless and depressed, drained from trying to make their dreams a reality.
In 2018, Caroline Adegun made the choice to quit her job and live among creatives in Hollywood. She traveled from hostel to hostel across Los Angeles to live with homeless and low-income entertainers to learn about their challenges and what they felt they needed to succeed.
Two years later, after being a gainfully employed senior recruitment professional, Caroline resigned from her career in corporate America to start the first nonprofit talent development firm in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Wingwoman works with low-income or homeless entertainers and influencers. They partner with industry experts to help new entertainers create a firm foundation in Hollywood by building their confidence, self-esteem, and critical entertainment business skills. They work on defining the artist’s personal brand and teaching them how to create commercially viable products, establish a fan base, and more. The ultimate goal of The Hollywood Wingwoman is to be able to build an artist development home to provide artists with all the resources they need to focus on building a firm foundation in the entertainment industry.
Through The Hollywood Wingwoman, Caroline Adegun is fulfilling her purpose in life—to motivate people to do something positive in their lives by creating a feeling of hope and confidence. She can then point their hope in a direction that helps them make changes to live a successful and satisfying life. Caroline’s greatest strength is her ability to build rapport with people very easily and form meaningful relationships quickly. She looks for opportunities to encourage others to bring out the best in themselves and accomplish their dreams. As a personal and business brand consultant, she teaches clients how to brand and market themselves online and in social settings. Caroline is also a Plus Fashion Marketing Creator and is dedicated to being a voice of body inclusivity in the fashion industry. She and her best friend, Carmen Rosas-Lopez, recently launched their own dancing fashion series, which showcases body-inclusive brands and their killer dance moves.
Caroline Adegun is a two-time alumnus of the George Washington University as the bearer of bachelors of arts in Psychology and Organizational Communications and her Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development.
