Emigrating is always a decision that is made with the hope of building a better future and with the purpose of contributing talent to the commercial industry where you work in that new country. With that idea, Carlos Fermín Purroy moved from his native Venezuela to the United States and with effort and work has managed to make an important name within the gastronomic industry in the state of Florida.
After developing a career as a culinary entrepreneur in his country, he became the owner of an Aventura Mall coffee shop, called “Rococoa Café”, which under his management was the coffee shop with the highest sales of Nespresso brand coffee in all of Florida and positioning itself among the 10 with the most sales in all of the United States, approximately 7,000 coffees were sold per month.
After a year, he opened “Yogurt Bella” ice cream parlor in the Green Wellington Mall and at the beginning of 2017, he created the “Little Brittany” Brand, a creperie of French origin that offers many options of crepes, among other products. Now this brand has two locations, in the most important cities of Florida, Aventura and Brickell. His expansion continues, wanting to open at least two more locations in 2023 and also extend his offer to the area of craft liquors, specifically in craft beer, for which Carlos trained and graduated as a brewmaster and today sells his production of beer and cider
“This country opened its doors for me, so I decided to do my best. It has been a path of much learning, the day-to-day work has made me who I am today. I consider myself a hardworking man and I gladly receive all the opportunities that this country has offered me and offers me ”, Purroy reflects on his growth in the United States.
The story of Carlos Fermín Purroy is an inspiring example of how the effort and passion of immigrant Latinos can lead to achieving the American dream in an industry as competitive as gastronomy. His dedication and entrepreneurial vision continue to drive his success and his contribution to the Florida culinary scene.
