Alberto Lugo’s Journey Toward Sustainable Design and Environmental Protection

With the rising demand for better and more affordable homes in bustling cities, architectural firms are in a rat race to create concrete jungles, regardless of their impact on the environment. Fortunately, one man has stepped in to resist the trend with a mission to save the environment utilizing exceptional architectural skills. He is Alberto Lugo, also known as Androsky Lugo, the CEO and Founder of Framing Futures Architectural Firm (FFAF) in Southern California. Establishing his firm in 2019, Lugo was committed to introducing more sustainable architecture to save the environment.

Alberto Lugo has a remarkable career fueled by his passion to create sustainable design. His journey into the world of architecture started way before he established FFAF.  From working as a business consultant in New York to completing an internship and eventually becoming a Project Architect, Lugo played multiple roles in his professional career. What truly fascinated him was the field of architecture that he believes can be transformed to impact the world positively. In his career spanning over two decades, Lugo was an integral part of several high-end architectural projects of modifying commercial structures and public spaces and building affordable housing.

Unique architectural designs are core to this industry, but Lugo separated himself by focusing on sustainable design that protects the environment. He made history in 2015 by creating a structure made completely from recycled and sustainable materials for the esteemed Halwgman’s Group in NYC. This achievement shaped his perspective on architecture as he realized that architectural structures can only survive if they harmonize with nature. Since then, Lugo has been committed to designing eco-friendly buildings.

The Foundation of Architecture and Earth Awareness Foundation in 2019 was an intentional move to take this initiative further. The purpose of the foundation is to spread awareness about the importance of adopting green architecture. Through Architecture and Earth Awareness Foundation, Lugo strives to empower the entire industry to embrace sustainable practices to create a greener future.

Lugo‘s effort to transform modern architectural designs to make the world a better place was recognized by many organizations. He became the top contributor to the Homes for Future initiative and also earned the prestigious Voice of the Season award from the Green World Council. These honors reflect his relentless endeavor in championing environmental causes within architectural space.

Despite being an exemplary mind in the architectural realm, Lugo is a nature lover from the core of his heart. Apart from spending quality time with his family, he loves to explore mountains in his leisure with just a backpack and a fishing pole. He admires nature’s wonders and is willing to make every effort to preserve it.

With a mission to revolutionize the designs of modern structures, Lugo has already planned a clear road map to the future. He will continue to introduce greener ideas to the architectural industry, blending innovation and sustainability to align architecture with nature. FFAF and the Architecture and Earth Awareness Foundation will serve as his platforms to spread the message and help the world embrace this transformative change. For him, success is not a measure of the milestones achieved in his career but the impact he created and the change it brought to the global architectural community.
