When it comes to her cookies, cookie creator Molly Blakeley knows all too well what would fascinate the palate of consumers. The founder and owner of Molly Bz, a fast-growing gourmet cookie business that was developed in Alaska, is not just about meeting the cravings of people with sweet tooth, she is also out to overwhelm their senses with a concoction of the most unlikely ingredients with an explosive end result. If anything, Molly has successfully established a brand that people of all ages and walks of life can easily love. After launching on a national level last November 2021, Molly Bz is an undeniable hit and consumers are madly in love with its cookie flavors.
What makes the Molly Bz cookies is simply the relentless and hardworking heart of Molly. She is the beating heart of the business and the fire that continues to create delectable treats. Her phenomenal story did not begin as most people would expect. Throughout the course of her entrepreneurial journey, she was able to start at least 15 businesses that were either sold, failed, or charged to experience. Molly has gone through the pains of developing a roller derby, restaurants, motels, bars, and gift shops in Alaska, with a target market of only 4,000 individuals.
Some years back, Molly had the misfortune of ending up on the wrong end of a business deal, which left her a single mom with only $150 left in her pocket. Instead of sulking, Molly thought of a way to use that small start-up capital by wringing her brain of all the possible creative ideas she learned in the food and beverage industries in the past thirty years. What she came up with, little did she know, would change her life forever. She came up with a gourmet cookie business.
What started out as a 20 box per week business grew exponentially to a 45 box per day venture in 3 months, much to Molly’s surprise. Her little business began to attract so much attention that she eventually became part of the 2019 Forbes Start-Up hub in Detroit, signed Spike TV’s Chef Brian Duffy on her team, all while selling her delicious cookies all over Alaska’s stores. Molly knew that she had finally found her niche in business once her cookies became part of Oscars gifting suite with WOW creations in 2021 and 2022, The International Emmy Bags 2021, and a Wheel of Fortune prize, among others. Molly soon realized that all her dreams were finally coming true.
After several attempts to establish a business that truly suited her, Molly finally found the perfect one at the age of 45. Three years later, she transformed that business into a national sensation. To ensure the quality of her remarkable cookies, Molly sought special permission from the Ghirardelli headquarters to use only its chocolates for her creations. Every cookie bears Molly’s inspiring story at the back.
The Hot Mess cookies are the most recent addition to her selection of flavors. It is loaded with mango chunks, white chocolate, infused with Anger Management tequila flavoring, and topped with hot Cheetos. The Big Joe, on the other hand, is a testament to Molly’s deep love affair with mocha. It also contains fresh ground coffee with whole beans, milk chocolate chips, and rum flavoring. Meanwhile, Royally Awesome is a combination of milk chocolate chips, fresh coconut shreds, macadamia nuts, and spiced rum flavoring. The list of delicious treats from Molly Bz goes on and on, including The Tea, The Bossman, Pina Colada, Straight Fire, A Lil Twisted, Pecan Crown, Almond Joyous, Be Cordial, Golden Nougat, Jalapeño Margarita, and Bourbon Legend.
The Molly Bz success story is one for the books and one worth learning from. Inspiring other aspiring or struggling entrepreneurs to never give up on their dreams is something that Molly hopes to achieve by sharing her story. Molly also never forgets to give praise to God who gave her strength and courage to go through her hardest battles unscathed. When asked what her secret recipe is, she shares, “I give the Lord credit for how far I’ve come” She attributes her faith & family to be the reason why she chose to keep going.
