“I know of no more polyhedral and diverse work than a PR director of an artist,” says Julia Gromova. “In fact, it is needed to mix your direct duties with tasks of a stylist, a producer, a psychologist, a nanny, a trainer, a speechwriter, a personal driver and God knows who else. But I like it.” The first serious test befell Julia when a soloist suddenly left a popular young group which she worked with. Since Julia already had quite a wide range of communication in the industry, she knew immediately who could replace her. “Was it my task? No. But if you want to achieve success, learn to take responsibility.”

Success in Russia 

Gradually, the portfolio of the PR manager expanded to such a degree that at some point all the top-10 best songs consisted entirely of the hits of the artists that she worked with. At that moment Julia could already choose whom to cooperate with and on what terms. A credit of trust to her as a specialist was fully formed. Then Julia realized that it was time to scale and open an agency. So there was a company called GETPR.        

 Entering an international platform

The next logical step became entering the international market. One of the artist who Julia works with – Sasha Belair – met a director of a clip of Lil Wayne и Snoop Dogg in Los Angeles in a studio.  In the PR field contacts are the most important thing. Then there was Julia’s part of the work: endless negotiations, development of a strategy and a concept, joining graphs of all the artists. As a result, Sasha recorded a track with Lil Wayne and Snoop Dog, and the international team took on it a clip. It was the first big international victory of Gromova. It cannot be said that the next was easier but the barrier was overcome. Now every year Julia receives invitations to the Grammy, amfAR, the Cannes film festival and other international events: “That’s not a reason for me to amuse vanity but a serious working instrument.”

Star disease

Julia is sure that there is no danger of her having star disease. If she were inclined to it, she would lose touch with reality a long time ago: “Actually, I constantly repeat that success of a client is always success of a client. And a manager, a PR manager and a producer is a person who helps and guides: someone upon whom only 10% depends on, so I’m not conceited.” 

Relationships with clients

Julia believes that it is always important to remember: first of all, you are colleagues. And communication has to be exceptionally professional. It does not mean that it is forbidden to be friends with your clients. It is simply impossible to stay aside when you spend with a person more time than with your own family: “In such a work schedule colleagues necessarily become friends. But it is needed to be able to clearly divide working and personal relationships.”

PR prospects

As to plans for the future, Julia does not doubt in high demand of her services: “I’m lucky to find myself in such a profession which in the nearest future will gather momentum and strengthen its positions. PR specialists cannot be changed by artificial intelligence, their functions cannot be optimized or shortened, tasks of a PR manager will not lose their relevance. Even during the pandemic, despite the fact that PR was required and popular. This is the very profession that adapts to the challenges of time.”

 Having an idea that becomes a profitable business is simply the first part of a system of situations that must occur to make that idea successful, long-lived, and prosperous. That is the quality that the Peruvian Xavier Vargas has, a business development specialist who has managed to position himself at a very high level.

Xavier is a management professional with more than 20 years of experience creating and leading projects in different industries, where the common factor is to innovate and create business models that follow the market trend or even provide solutions to problems that the common does not see.

Between 2007 and 2010, he ran a company that makes alpaca clothing for pets called Alpaca and Pets, which had its main clientele in New York City. She also represented GPC Consulting, Manos Accelerator, and Balero, organizations based in Silicon Valley with which the first regional startup in Cuzco was created and with which an ecosystem of technology-based projects and a women’s empowerment platform called Warmi Army was built, where he served as its founder and executive director, where he had the opportunity to rub shoulders with talent from Google, YouTube, Yahoo!, and Salesforce, among others.

“My vision goes beyond creating businesses. It gives a new twist, spirit, and social sense, adding value and purpose to an idea. It is difficult to explain these creative processes; they only appear as a result of observation. Each person has an innate talent or inclination for different fields. 2. Janet Layug is a fitness model of Polish-Filipino descent. In childhood, Janet enjoyed such activities as swimming and running. She graduated from a university in Florida, and as a teenager, she began taking part in the advertising of swimsuits. Janet also worked in the famous American restaurant chain, was repeatedly shot for their magazine and calendar, and got into the top-5 of their 2011 ranking of girls in swimsuits, which gave her immense fame. The sports career of Janet started in 2013. At the 2nd tournament in her life, NPC National Bikini Championships (held in Lakeland), Janet won a professional card IFBB and moved into PRO. She quickly became one of the best in the world by winning 4 PRO tournaments at once in only two years, including the prestigious Arnold Classic Australia, and also became the Vice-champion of Olympia in 2014 and 2015.     

 

3. Julia Vins is one of the famous personalities in the world of powerlifting. She became popular in 2013 when she posted her photo on the Internet. On the same day, Julia was given the nickname “Barbie girl with the Hulk’s body.” Julia was born on the 21st of May in 1996 in the Saratov region, in the city of Engels. Julia was an absolutely usual girl who initially did not have any predisposition to sports. At the age of 15, the girl developed a frenzied interest in the iron sport. As Julia herself says, she needed bodybuilding for self-affirmation. At the moment, Julia is a master of sports in international class. The girl’s records can only be envied. Squats with a barbell of about 252kg, bench press – 165kg, deadlift – 200kg, with her own weight of 63kg and height of 165cm.

4. Noemi Olah was born on the 26th of December in 1986 in Budapest, Hungary. In 2005 she started her career as a fitness model when she won her first show Hungarian Superbody Championship. A little later, Noemi became Micc Hungary. Then the athlete spent several years preparing for the show “Arnold Classic.” In 2010 she managed to win this tournament, for which she received a card of professional sportsman IFBB in the Bikini category. Afterward, Olah moved to the USA and now lives in California. She qualified several times and performed at the tournament “Miss Olympia.” Noemi became the first Hungarian sportsman to step up to the podium of the show. 

5. Lauralie Chapados is a Canadian fitness model, bodybuilder and sportsman IFBB Pro acting in the Bikini category. Chapados won the title «Bikini International» at Arnold Classic 2022, the 2nd largest bodybuilding contest after the prestigious “Mister Olympia.” Lauralie Chapados had an active childhood, and her parents encouraged her to do sports. Growing up, Chapados got into football, skiing and jiu-jitsu, and football was her first preference. Lauralie is one of the most famous models in the fitness industry. Taking part in the most prestigious tournament of 2019, Miss Bikini Olympia, she became the finalist. Lauralie is an example of the most rapid career growth in fitness among women.

6. Alina Frolova tightly linked her life with sports. At 9, she got into rhythmic gymnastics, which is quite late for a beginner in the sport. Thanks to incredible persistence, she quickly achieved the title of the master of the sport. The girl graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Education and Sports. In 2021, Alina became the European champion in artistic fitness. She is also the World Champion, 7-time Russian Champion, and 7-time Moscow Champion. 7. Etila Santiago is an ambitious fitness model from Brazil. Etila was born on the 30th of October in 1992. Since childhood, the girl dreamed about becoming a model. In 2015, she took part in her first competition, “Rio Grande do Norte.” Participation brought her the first victory and the belief that she had done everything right. She confirmed her championship title 2 more years in a row – in 2016 and 2017. Among bright victories and achievements are the first place at the amateur “Olympia 2018” in South America.
