For years, the electric tricycle market has asked riders to trade the low-speed stability of a three-wheeled platform for the cornering agility of a two-wheeled bicycle. Addmotor has released the U-Trike U-750, an electric tricycle built to close that gap.
The U-Trike U-750 integrates a central pivot mechanism into a fat-tire frame. The design lets the vehicle’s body lean during cornering, a configuration meant to pair three-wheeled stability with handling closer to a traditional bicycle.
The Pivot Mechanism
The technical heart of the U-750 is its central pivot joint. In a conventional rigid electric tricycle, the frame stays locked on a fixed vertical plane. During a turn, that rigidity pushes the rider outward with centrifugal force, which can lift the inner wheel and threaten a tip.
The U-750’s pivot steering design separates the front steering column and rider frame from the rear drive module. A rider can lean the front section into a corner while the rear wheels stay planted on the pavement. By shifting the center of gravity inward, the design works against the outward pull of a turn, mirroring the cornering motion of a motorcycle or bicycle. The result is a lean-to-turn feel that resembles a two-wheeler rather than a rigid three-wheeled frame.
Dual-Mode Operational Logic: Fixed vs. Tilting
A defining feature of the U-750 is its dual-mode system, controlled by a handlebar-mounted swing-lock lever. The design lets the trike adapt to a rider’s skill level and immediate needs.
- Fixed Mode: The pivot joint is mechanically secured, preventing lateral movement. In this setting, the U-750 behaves like a standard rigid tricycle with predictable, upright stability. It suits beginners, seniors, or any rider carrying heavier loads who want a steady posture.
- Tilting Mode: Unlocking the lever enables the lean-to-turn function. In this swing mode, a 12° frame tilt allows a more dynamic, free-leaning ride. It is well-suited for active riders carving through winding urban paths or coastal corridors.
Propulsion and Electronic Precision
Performance comes from Addmotor’s EB 2.0 electronic platform paired with a 48V 750W rear-mounted hub motor that peaks at 1400W. Rather than relying on a cadence sensor alone, as many lower-end models do, the U-750 uses a high-precision torque sensor. It reads the force a rider applies to the pedals in real time and delivers proportional assistance, producing a smoother power curve that matters during the balance shifts of a tilting turn.
Power comes from a 48V 20Ah Samsung lithium-ion battery that carries UL-2271 certification for electrical and thermal safety. On a single charge, the trike delivers a range of 40 to 85 miles, depending on terrain and the chosen level of pedal assist. Seven assistance levels and a half-twist variable-speed throttle give riders support for hills and longer commutes. The U-750 is part of Addmotor’s tilting e-trike collection.
Design for Urban Utility and Safety
The U-750 is built on a reinforced 6061 aluminum alloy frame, chosen to resist the torsional stresses that come with a tilting mechanism. An ultra-low step-thru design makes mounting and dismounting easier, without the high leg lifts a standard frame requires. That accessibility tends to matter most to seniors and riders with limited mobility.
The trike runs 20-inch by 4.0-inch fat tires, which put a wide contact patch on the ground for added grip and a planted feel through a lean. Paired with the 80mm-travel front suspension fork, the tires help smooth out city potholes, gravel, and sand.
Additional safety features include:
- Triple Mechanical Disc Brakes: Dedicated brakes on all three wheels for stopping power under load.
- Integrated Parking Brake: A manual brake on the handlebar locks the vehicle vertically when stationary, keeping it from rolling or tilting during mounting or cargo loading.
- EB 2.0 5-in-1 Lighting: A high-visibility unit that combines brake lights, turn signals, hazard lights, and running lights.
Hauling Capability
Urban utility sits at the center of the U-750’s design. Total payload capacity reaches 450 lbs, which covers a 350 lb rider plus 100 lbs of cargo in the rear basket. Groceries, camping gear, or daily supplies all fit, and the tilting frame is built to keep the load steadier through turns.

A Different Kind of Electric Trike
The Addmotor U-750 combines the stability of a three-wheeled base with the leaning motion riders associate with a bicycle. That mix makes it a flexible option for urban commuting, errands, and recreational riding. For anyone weighing three-wheel security against the feel of a two-wheeler, the U-750 offers a middle path.
