Tommy Popcorn’s Partnership With Stage Door Deli Generates Buzz Across NYC

Tommy Popcorn, the gourmet popcorn brand inspired by 1950s New York, has teamed up with the iconic Stage Door Deli at One World Trade Center to launch a limited-edition popcorn flavor – and it’s already generating buzz across the City.

The flavor, Berry Hot, blends sweet raspberry with a punch of habanero heat. And the only way to try it? Whisper a special password to staff at Stage Door Deli next to One World Trade during December to unlock a free bag.

The stunt by Tommy Popcorn nods to old-school NYC speakeasies and to the popcorn company’s founding legend.

“When Tommy first started making cinema, he’d screen his guerrilla films in a speakeasy tucked behind a deli, password required,” said Tommy Popcorn co-founder Tom Leigh. “Berry Hot has that same mix of theatre, spice and chaos that only New York can pull off.”

A Giant Bag of Popcorn… Literally

If the secret password isn’t enough to catch attention, the skyline snack stunt will be.

From December 1st, a giant inflatable model of a Tommy Popcorn bag will sit above Stage Door Deli, creating the ultimate photo opp for fans and tourists in the One World Trade area.

Spotters are invited to take a picture with it and tag @tommy.popcorn & #TommyOnTop for a chance to win a trip to Orlando. New York winter getting you down? Tommy has the cure…

Stage Door Deli Adds a Fresh Twist to a Classic NYC Destination

For Stage Door Deli, a staple of the Financial District with decades of history, the unique collaboration is a chance to welcome a new kind of flavor seeker.

Nick Travlos, owner at Stage Door Deli commented: “Stage Door Deli is a family-run business that has been serving New Yorkers for years, and this partnership is bringing some new spice to the city…and the deli.

“It’s the first time in a long time that we’ve done any kind of partnership like this, and as soon as I met Tommy, I knew New Yorkers were going to love it! It’s not just a great brand, but it’s bringing a whole new audience to the deli. It’s fun, it’s got attitude, and it tastes incredible.”

As word spreads, Tommy Popcorn’s collaboration with Stage Door Deli is quickly becoming a must-try experience for locals and tourists alike. From foodies lining up for a taste of the fiery new flavor to social media influencers making the most of the quirky pop-up experience, this partnership is making waves. Beyond the immediate area of One World Trade Center, food lovers are flocking from all over the city to get in on the action. Even with winter temperatures settling in, the warmth of Berry Hot has created an irresistible draw. The combination of sweet and spicy, along with the intrigue of a secret password and the allure of the oversized popcorn bag, has set the stage for this pop-up to be one of the most talked-about food events of the season.

Alongside Berry Hot, the deli will also carry Tommy Popcorn’s full lineup of nostalgia-packed flavors, including:

  • Empire State, which tastes like a New York pizza slice
  • Mallow Magic, a Lucky Charms-inspired treat
  • Golden Irish, whiskey-infused richness
