Moving City, the talented five-piece band from Vancouver, is proud to share their inspiring journey and announce their latest EP, “SNACKS,” set for release in early June. This highly anticipated EP marks the band’s fourth album in a short span of three years, showcasing their relentless dedication to music and creativity.
What began in 2013 as a passion project between founders Andrew Facciolo and Logan Shaw in a small shared apartment in Toronto, Moving City has grown into a full-fledged band with a unique sound and inspiring story. The duo’s bond was forged through their shared passion for music and a creative atmosphere that turned their hobby into a lifestyle.
Despite putting their music on hold to experience different parts of the world and facing unexpected life events, Andrew and Logan reunited in Vancouver in 2020, rekindling their musical partnership. Under unique circumstances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the duo used their time in lockdown to write new songs and create their debut album, “2308.”
Following the release of their second album, “Little Dogs,” Moving City continued to push their creative boundaries, exploring new sounds and styles that culminated in their upcoming EP, “SNACKS.” With a more polished rock sound and a full band lineup, “SNACKS” promises to be their most impressive work to date.
Moving City now consists of Chris Johnson on guitar/bass, drummer Madison Norton from local band SEER, and bass player Jan Toren. The band has been steadily gaining exposure, playing smaller gigs and notable events such as multiple MRG showcases, opening for Jon Bryant at the Imperial, The Shipyards Festival, and opening for UK up-and-comers Red Rum Club at The Biltmore Cabaret. Moving City also played at NXNE 2022, where they were featured on Indie 88’s top 20 bands to see out of over 300 artists, and have been invited back to perform at NXNE 2023.
Fans can look forward to the first single from “SNACKS” being released in late April, followed by the full EP in early June. Moving City’s inspiring journey and dedication to their craft is a testament to their passion for music and their potential for continued success. Stay tuned for more information on their social media channels and make sure to catch them live at upcoming shows and festivals.
