Service to Man is Worship to God: Greg Atkinson Does it Best

God created this earth with all His glory as a nurturing home for humans. He even placed this earth in an incredible position where humans can quickly analyze day, night, months, and time and live with discipline. He did all of this for just one creation, Man. Man has always been believed to be a superior creation of God, and it is a fact that the ability to think has made humans alpha beings on this earth. Our mind allows us to move faster than a cheetah, lift more than an elephant, attack more severely than a lion and be cleverer than the fox. Our minds have helped us fly faster than an eagle and swim deeper than sharks. Our free will and ability to think have made us the true heir of this world. All these were God-given gifts to humanity, the acknowledgment of His love for His best and favorite creation.

Worshiping God and being thankful for His blessings can be challenging; clearly, a few hours in the church can never make up for it. To thank God, we must love what He loves and help those He loves. Seeing all this love for humanity by God, we can understand there would not be any worship bigger than service to man. The reward hidden in such noble acts is beyond any explanation. Many atheists and disbelievers seek out the most remote location on this earth to help those who cannot be heard or seen, all for the sake of gaining inner peace, calmness, and a state of genuine happiness. Such emotions and feelings can never be bought but only can be spread by helping others.

Great men knew this reality. To them, life was action, and that action was in service to others. A life lived solely for one’s gain, regardless of the needs of others, is worse than death. A bird or beast collects food for itself and its offspring, but a man was created to be better than angels, not worse than a pig. Without question, selfishness is not the kind of attribute man is meant to undertake. Because he is the canopy and crown of creation, he is expected to live a more meaningful life by dedicating himself to humanity’s service.

God’s mission is to create and sustain life. As a result, those who maintain human beings and serve man are serving God. It is frequently stated that human service can be used to worship God. Many great leaders dedicated their lives to serving man, but in reality, they were serving God. Abraham Lincoln fought for the rights of African-Americans. Slavery was abolished, and they were set free. It was a heavenly assignment.

Both Jesus and Buddha dedicated their lives to the service of humanity, and Joan of Arc was burned for serving the people of her country. A social worker is a selfless individual, and he sees social service as a form of worship. He doesn’t expect anything in return for his assistance and never takes advantage of it. “What the vast majority of mankind does for self or at best for family, a social servant performs for the general benefit,” says Mahatma Gandhi.

Kindness has no hidden agenda or strings attached. Its only purpose is to express love to another soul made in the image of God.”
