Anna Tran: A Measured Approach to Strategic Communication

By: Elowen Gray

Clarity Before the Spotlight: Anna Tran’s Approach to PR and Storytelling

In today’s fast-moving digital world, attention can be fleeting. Posts may go viral one day and vanish the next, leaving little behind but noise. For Anna Tran, a communications strategist and founder of Level Up With Anna, success isn’t solely about chasing the spotlight—it’s about making sure that when the light shines, it reveals something worthwhile.

Anna’s career has been shaped by a simple belief: visibility matters, but only when it’s anchored in clarity. “It’s not enough to be seen,” she says. “The question is—what do you want people to see, remember, and connect with?”

Her work centers on helping entrepreneurs, experts, and leaders uncover their authentic story and share it with purpose. Whether that means a feature in a national publication, a guest spot on a podcast, or speaking on stage, Anna ensures each opportunity aligns with a bigger picture rather than standing alone.

A Journey Built on Connection

Anna’s approach didn’t come from theory—it grew out of years of real-world experience. Over 14 years in sales, marketing, and business development taught her that relationships are the heartbeat of any successful venture. Early in her career, she worked directly with customers, learning how trust is built one conversation at a time. Later, in digital marketing and operations, she saw how that trust could be scaled—if the messaging stayed consistent and human.

Her transition into PR was gradual. She started by supporting business development teams and advising on marketing strategies. Over time, she noticed a gap: many businesses were reactive about publicity, saying yes to any media opportunity without asking whether it fit their story. Anna stepped in to bridge that gap, guiding clients to be intentional about how and where they showed up.

Storytelling with Substance

For Anna, PR isn’t just about getting your name in print—it’s about telling the right story at the right time, in the right place. She works closely with clients to identify themes in their work, the values they stand for, and the audiences they want to reach.

Rather than focusing on volume, she encourages selectivity. Not every outlet, podcast, or speaking opportunity is the right one, and saying no can be as powerful as saying yes. Her process blends strategic planning with creativity, mapping content to business goals so that media exposure supports long-term growth instead of short-term attention.

“Good PR doesn’t just create awareness,” Anna explains. “It aims to move people toward understanding and trust.”

Navigating Change with Adaptability

Like many in the communications field, Anna has navigated the realities of shifting markets, evolving client needs, and changing team dynamics. These experiences have reinforced her belief in adaptability. To her, strategy isn’t a rigid checklist—it’s a living system that grows and changes alongside the business it serves.

This flexibility allows her to guide clients through transitions—whether it’s a rebrand, a leadership change, or a pivot in services—without losing the thread of their core story.

A Life Beyond PR

Outside of her professional work, Anna stays connected to her other passions: health and wellness, competitive gaming communities, and financial trading. These pursuits might seem worlds apart from PR, but for her, they offer balance and fresh perspectives. They also keep her connected to diverse communities where stories are exchanged freely—reminding her that storytelling is a universal language.

Looking Forward

As Anna looks ahead, she’s exploring projects that merge her communications expertise with causes that reflect her values, such as platforms that promote dialogue, transparency, and empowerment.

For entrepreneurs considering stepping into the public eye, her advice is clear: “Clarity first, content second. When your message is rooted in who you are and what you stand for, it will resonate—and it will likely last.”

In a noisy world, Anna Tran isn’t just helping people be heard—she’s helping them be understood.

Author William E. Wilson Delivers Gritty, Unforgettable Thrillers That Redefine Crime Fiction

By: Matthew G. Lopez

In the vast sea of crime fiction, few voices cut through the noise with the raw authenticity and lived experience of William E. Wilson. Since discovering his passion for writing in retirement, Wilson has gained recognition for blending high-stakes suspense with deeply human narratives. From his home in Florida, he weaves tales of moral complexity, criminal underworlds, and characters pushed to their limits, keeping readers hooked until the very last sentence.

Wilson’s writing career officially began in 2015, but it was the 2019 release of his debut novel, Naptown’s Dirty Little Secrets, that marked his arrival on the crime fiction scene. The novel’s gritty atmosphere, layered moral dilemmas, and unpredictable twists earned him a loyal following. Each new release since has showcased his ability to immerse readers in dangerous worlds where every choice carries weight.

Two standout works highlight the range of Wilson’s storytelling:

Chi-Town Dregs of Society plunges readers into Chicago’s shadowy underbelly. Through the story of Alfonso “Sunshine” Lewis, a former gang leader returning from a twelve-year prison term, Wilson explores the city’s entrenched cycles of violence, political corruption, and gang rivalry. Sunshine’s struggle pits him against the Latin Kings and pulls him into covert operations with the DEA to dismantle an international cartel. The stakes are nothing less than life, death, and redemption.

MAX STEELMAN PI: Unrelenting in His Fight for Justice introduces Max Steelman, a relentless private investigator whose pursuit of justice takes him from small-town Iowa to the heart of a dangerous human trafficking ring. As Steelman uncovers layer upon layer of deceit, he faces deadly opposition at every turn, forcing him to rely on equal measures of grit, intelligence, and courage.

Wilson’s expanding bibliography also includes Chat-Town Ten-A-Key, CHILLTOWN: A Community Overwhelmed With Violence, and The Ravenos Undertaker. Each novel delivers the unfiltered realism, emotional depth, and fast-paced plotting that have become his hallmark. Whether set in gang-controlled neighborhoods or tight-knit rural communities, his stories examine the thin line between justice and vengeance, law and survival.

Readers drawn to Wilson’s work often cite his deep understanding of human motivation, both good and bad. His characters are neither purely heroic nor purely villainous; they are flawed, layered, and driven by their own moral codes. This complexity mirrors the real world, making his novels as thought-provoking as they are thrilling.

For fans of crime fiction who crave authenticity, high tension, and storytelling that refuses to flinch, William E. Wilson’s books are essential reads. Each page offers danger, moral conflict, and the kind of twist endings that linger in the mind long after the story ends. His novels are widely available through major online retailers.

About the Author

William E. Wilson’s life reads like one of his novels: raw, unpredictable, and rich with adventure. Born in the heart of southern rural America, he journeyed north to Indiana, balancing factory work with creative pursuits. After a brief time in teacher’s college, he transferred to a small Baptist college in Tennessee, only to trade textbooks for a military uniform in 1963.

Serving four years in the U.S. Air Force Security Service, Wilson’s assignments took him from the sunlit shores of Crete, Greece, to cities across Europe before returning stateside to Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Following his military service, he stepped into the hospitality industry, first as a bartender and later as a tavern owner. These years provided a front-row seat to the stories of everyday people, their struggles, triumphs, and secrets, which would later inspire his fictional worlds.

Now living in Florida, Wilson draws on a lifetime of diverse experiences to create immersive crime and suspense novels. His work reflects a keen eye for detail, a deep empathy for his characters, and an unshakable commitment to telling stories that matter.

Radiance from Within: A Conversation with Premier Medical Aesthetician Alice Khalkad

By: Nia Bowers

In a recent episode of the podcast “Unleash The Story Within with Liana Zavo,” host Liana Zavo interviewed Alice Khalkad, a skilled medical aesthetician from Long Island, who has made a significant impact on the beauty industry with her customized approach. Alice’s philosophy emphasizes empowering women to feel confident by combining advanced aesthetic techniques with personalized care, supporting their physical and emotional well-being.

Below is an exclusive interview where Liana explores Alice’s inspirational journey, her unique approach to aesthetics, and the wisdom she has gained along the way.

Liana Zavo: Alice, you’ve built an incredible reputation as one of the premier medical aestheticians in Long Island. Can you share how unleashing your personal story has contributed to your success and how it helps you connect with your clients?

Alice Khalkad: Thank you for having me, Liana. My journey wasn’t always glamorous or straightforward. I came from humble beginnings and faced numerous challenges before finding my passion in aesthetics. I believe that sharing my authentic story—including the struggles and setbacks—has been crucial to building genuine connections with my clients.

When women sit in my chair, they’re not just looking for a treatment; they’re seeking understanding and transformation. By opening up about my own insecurities and how I’ve overcome them, I create a safe space for my clients to be vulnerable too. This transparency breaks down barriers and builds trust, which is the foundation of any successful aesthetic relationship.

Liana Zavo: In an industry that’s constantly evolving with new trends and techniques, how have you managed to stay true to yourself and your core values while still innovating and growing your practice?

Alice Khalkad: That’s such an important question, Liana. The aesthetics industry is indeed constantly changing, with new technologies and treatments emerging every year. The temptation to chase every trend can be overwhelming, but I’ve learned that staying grounded in my core values is what ultimately sets me apart.

From the beginning, I established clear principles: prioritizing skin health over quick fixes, customizing treatments for individual needs rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, and being honest about what treatments will truly benefit each client—even if it means recommending fewer services.

My selective approach to innovation has actually become my competitive advantage. My clients know that when I introduce a new treatment, it’s because I truly believe in its value—not because it’s trendy or profitable. This authenticity builds tremendous loyalty and trust, which is far more valuable than momentarily capitalizing on the latest fad.

Liana Zavo: Finding the right partners—both in business and in personal life—can be transformative. How have your partnerships contributed to your success, and what advice would you give to women looking to build meaningful collaborations?

Alice Khalkad: The partnerships I’ve formed throughout my career have been absolutely instrumental to my growth. I firmly believe we cannot reach our full potential in isolation—we need others who complement our strengths and compensate for our weaknesses.

In business, I’ve been fortunate to connect with medical professionals, holistic practitioners, and wellness experts who share my vision of integrated beauty and health. These partnerships have allowed me to provide comprehensive care that addresses all aspects of a woman’s wellbeing, not just the surface.

For women seeking meaningful partnerships, I have three pieces of advice: First, clarify your values and don’t compromise on them—alignment in core beliefs is essential for lasting collaborations. Second, look for complementary skills rather than mirror images of yourself; diversity of thought and ability creates stronger teams. And third, prioritize character and integrity over credentials or connections. A partner with impeccable ethics will serve you better in the long run than one with an impressive résumé but uncertain principles.

Liana Zavo: You’ve achieved remarkable success while also raising a family. Can you share how you’ve navigated the challenges of balancing your professional ambitions with your role as a mother and family member?

Alice Khalkad: Balancing family life with a demanding career has been one of my greatest challenges and also my most rewarding achievement. I won’t sugarcoat it—there have been many moments when I felt I was failing at both. But over time, I’ve developed strategies that have helped me create harmony between these two precious aspects of my life.

First, I had to redefine what “balance” means. Rather than seeking perfect equilibrium every day, I think of balance as a long-term commitment. Some days, my business needs more attention; other days, my family takes priority. What matters is that over time, both receive the care they deserve.

Liana Zavo: As someone who has achieved great success in your field in Long Island, you’re making a meaningful impact on the aesthetics industry. What innovative approaches or philosophies have contributed to your standing, and how do you see yourself continuing to transform the industry moving forward?

Alice Khalkad: What’s truly differentiated my practice is my holistic, inside-out approach to aesthetics. While many in our industry focus exclusively on external treatments, I’ve pioneered an integrated model that addresses the underlying factors affecting skin health and overall radiance.

I’ve developed signature protocols that combine multiple modalities for synergistic effects—merging practices like my signature TTT method with holistic approaches. These customized protocols deliver results that neither traditional nor contemporary approaches can achieve alone.

Ultimately, my vision is to continue challenging the conventional beauty narrative—shifting from quick fixes and unrealistic standards toward sustainable practices that honor each woman’s unique beauty and promote genuine wellbeing from the inside out.

About Alice Khalkad

Alice Khalkad is the founder of Alice Khalkad House of Skin in Roslyn, NY. Alice is a high-ranked medical aesthetician based in Long Island, recognized for her revolutionary approach to skin health and beauty, helping women achieve radiance that starts from within.

From Train Tracks to Publishing Success: How Joyce Levy is Inspiring a Generation to Believe in Themselves

By: Elowen Gray

At 58 years old, Joyce Ann Levy is demonstrating that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. By day, she drives a light rail train. But between stops, she’s become an author, inventor, and the creator of a children’s empowerment movement that’s gaining attention.

Levy’s debut book, The Girl with the Big Imagination, is more than just a children’s story—it’s a guide for believing in oneself and holding onto dreams through life’s toughest moments. The book was written not in the quiet of a home office, but from the seat of her train cab, illustrating that creativity knows no boundaries. “Every stop I made, I jotted down more,” Levy says. “I didn’t sit down and write the book. I wrote it while driving the train.”

This remarkable journey started from a personal mission: to encourage people, especially women and children, to never give up on their dreams no matter how long it takes. “I wanted to inspire the world to keep going, to believe in their goals even when the road is long,” Levy says.

The book itself carries this message forward, rooted in Levy’s own life experiences. The Girl with the Big Imagination is about more than just storytelling; it’s about activating the power within. “Everything that you need is already in you. You were born with it,” Levy shares—a central message of the book she hopes will resonate with people of all ages. Though originally written for children, the book’s themes extend well beyond childhood. “This book is for the world, not just for kids,” she emphasizes.

Joyce Levy’s belief in self-empowerment isn’t limited to the written word. She’s also an inventor, with two patents to her name. In 2007, she came up with the idea for Shy Wear—a disposable garment designed to help women feel fully clothed during their yearly medical exams. It took nearly a decade of setbacks and faith, but in 2016, Levy secured patents for both the vest and the pants in her design. “It was challenging, but I was hopeful,” she says. “I kept believing, I kept going.”

The journey to patenting Shy Wear is a story of manifestation and perseverance. Levy wrote a vision board describing exactly what she wanted—to secure a patent attorney to represent her for free. Against all odds, it worked. “That’s exactly what happened,” she says. Now, she plans to use proceeds from her book sales to fund Shy Wear’s expansion, aiming to empower more women to get their regular checkups and possibly save lives in the process.

But Levy didn’t stop there. The Girl with the Big Imagination is only the beginning of a growing movement. Inspired by the book’s 10-year-old protagonist, Levy has created a baby doll called Amazing. The doll isn’t just a toy—it’s a tool for positive change. Programmed to speak affirmations, Amazing will remind children of their worth, strength, and potential. “I want kids to believe they can have anything, do anything,” Levy says. “That they don’t have to struggle, that everything is taken care of, and that they are enough.”

True to her inclusive vision, Levy plans to create Amazing dolls that represent children from all backgrounds—Black, Chinese, White, Native American—so every child can see themselves in the story of self-love and empowerment. Alongside the doll, Levy is planning a kids’ clothing line and even a cartoon series—all under the Amazing brand.

For Levy, positivity isn’t just a business—it’s a mission. “There’s so much negativity in the world,” she says. “I want to see more love, more belief, more encouragement.”

Despite juggling multiple projects and a full-time job, Levy remains committed to spreading her message. While she doesn’t plan on formal book signings—“I have too much going on,” she laughs—her daughters are helping promote the book through podcasts and social media. Already, she’s seen a warm reception from her coworkers and community, with early book sales increasing steadily.

Levy’s impressive accomplishments are underpinned by a foundation of faith, meditation, and a deep belief in the power of visualization. With an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree in Theology, she’s no stranger to the power of the mind and spirit. Her life’s journey—raising four children, becoming a grandmother to fifteen, working hard while nurturing creative dreams—reflects an inspiring blend of determination and compassion.

“I’m always imagining how I want my life to be,” she says. “When you believe in your imagination, your life becomes what you put out there.”

The Girl with the Big Imagination is now available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats, bringing Joyce Levy’s message to readers around the world. Through her words, inventions, and soon-to-launch products, Levy offers one simple, powerful lesson: your dreams are valid, your voice matters, and no matter where you start, it’s never too late to make an impact.

In a world often clouded by doubt, Joyce Levy stands as a reminder that with vision and faith, even the busiest life—whether driving a train or raising a family—can make room for dreams.

Robby and Kelly Dinero: Transforming Junk Removal into a Mission of Service and Community Impact

By: Alexandra Perez

Robby and Kelly Dinero’s journey from the gym industry to junk removal might seem unexpected, but it’s deeply rooted in their core values of faith, family, and service. Their story is one of transformation, resilience, and creating a lasting impact on their community. Through their business, JDog Junk Removal, they’ve discovered a renewed sense of purpose, aligning their work with a mission to help others.

Before entering the junk removal business, Robby and Kelly ran a thriving gym for nearly 11 years. But despite their passion for fitness, they reached a pivotal moment. “We just didn’t have the fire in our bellies anymore,” Robby admits. “I wasn’t coaching anymore. I was just cheering on others. It was time to move on.” This realization sparked the search for something new, and unexpectedly, their next adventure would come knocking in the form of junk removal.

Within 24 hours, both Robby and Kelly received messages that would change their lives. Robby was contacted by a business broker, and Kelly heard from a headhunting service. “I thought, this is crazy, but what if this is the sign we’ve been waiting for?” Robby recalls. It was that sense of timing that led them to JDog, a veteran-owned franchise that seemed to align well with their values. “The values of respect, integrity, and trust that JDog upholds were a strong match for who we are,” Kelly explains. “It just felt like a natural fit for us.”

Robby and Kelly’s unique backgrounds in the Marine Corps and education have had a profound influence on their business model. Robby’s military experience instilled a mission-focused mindset that he applies every day. “The Marine Corps taught me to focus on the mission,” he says. “In junk removal, every job is a mission. You set a goal, and no matter the obstacles, you work toward getting it done.” Kelly, a former teacher, emphasizes the importance of building relationships. “It’s all about relationships—whether with students or clients,” she says. “Trust is what keeps customers coming back.”

But the Dinero team doesn’t simply remove junk; they provide genuine support during some of their clients’ most difficult times. Whether someone is grieving the loss of a loved one or feeling overwhelmed by clutter, Robby and Kelly understand the emotional weight these situations carry. “When people call us, they’re often in distress,” Robby shares. “We’re not just removing junk; we’re offering assistance through tough times.” Whether it’s clearing out a hoarder’s home or assisting someone whose house has been damaged in a storm, Robby and Kelly approach each task with a servant’s heart.

One memorable experience for Kelly involved helping two sisters clean out their late mother’s home. “They didn’t know where to start,” Kelly recalls. “It was emotional for them, but we helped them create a plan and worked alongside them throughout the process.” The Dinero team’s combination of empathy and professionalism sets them apart. “We treat every customer’s home like it’s our own,” Kelly says. “We respect their space, their belongings, and their emotions.”

Their commitment to service is one of the driving forces behind the success of their business. “There will be highs and lows in business, but you have to push through,” Robby advises. “We do this because we want to serve people. That’s our mission.” Even during challenging moments, their focus on service keeps them motivated.

The Dinero family’s story also highlights the powerful role family plays in business. Their children are actively involved in the day-to-day operations, with their eldest son managing one of the trucks. “Our kids are a vital part of the business,” Kelly says. “They help with everything—from sorting scrap to being featured in our social media posts.” Even their youngest children are learning the value of hard work and community service. This family-centered approach not only strengthens their bond but also fosters a culture of teamwork within the business.

Robby and Kelly Dinero’s journey illustrates that success isn’t just about making money—it’s about living with purpose, making a difference, and cultivating meaningful relationships along the way. “We’ve built this business around our core values,” Kelly shares. “We’re not just helping people with junk; we’re helping them reclaim their lives.” Their story is one of courage, faith, and an unwavering dedication to both their family and their community.

RECODemand’s Approach to Structuring a Real Estate Schedule That May Attract More Clients

In a business where every hour counts, RECODemand has developed a system that may help real estate agents and mortgage professionals structure their days to maximize impact. By combining automation, education-first marketing, and a proven workflow, the company aims to help professionals design a real estate schedule that has the potential to attract qualified clients, without relying on outdated tactics.

The Power of an Intentional Schedule

A successful schedule in real estate isn’t necessarily about filling every minute; it’s about ensuring the right activities are in place to drive meaningful results. For RECODemand clients, that may mean replacing scattered prospecting with a webinar funnel that works efficiently in the background, building trust and interest before the first call is made.

As outlined in their blog on 8 Real Estate Marketing Ideas for 2025, the focus is on leveraging time for activities that compound, such as automated lead nurturing and targeted campaigns, rather than relying on reactive marketing.

Building the Day Around What Works

The foundation of RECODemand’s approach is a repeatable sequence:

  • Targeted outreach through Facebook Ads tailored to local market needs.
  • Webinar presentations that offer genuine value, not just a sales pitch.
  • Automated follow-ups via email and SMS, powered by lead generation automation tools.
  • Booking links through Calendly for easy scheduling.

This combination allows agents to concentrate on high-impact conversations rather than chasing older mortgage leads or cold contacts.

A practical guide from The Close shows how a tighter daily plan can enhance output and predictability; see Time Management for Realtors: Tips to Boost Productivity for a sample layout and tactics that can be applied immediately. RECODemand’s framework aligns with that principle, ensuring every step is designed to be repeatable, trackable, and efficient.

Why Education Outperforms Hard Selling

Instead of pushing mortgage social media posts that may get lost in busy feeds, RECODemand encourages agents to lead with education. By hosting webinars on topics like “Market Timing for Sellers” or “How to Buy Before You Sell,” agents create inbound marketing lead generation opportunities that position them as trusted experts.

The bottom line is: The shift toward informative content helps consumers make decisions with greater confidence.

Structuring the Week for Consistency

A well-designed real estate schedule under the RECODemand system doesn’t just manage time, it shapes the agent’s market presence. Mornings may focus on client meetings booked through the funnel, afternoons on relationship-building, and late afternoons reserved for refining ad campaigns or reviewing funnel performance.

Because much of the repetitive work is automated, from follow-ups to appointment reminders, agents can gain hours each week. Those hours can be reinvested into client care, local networking, or expanding marketing reach.

Real Tools, Real Impact

Unlike standalone real estate agent tools, RECODemand delivers an integrated setup. This includes CRM integration, a tested webinar framework, automation sequences, and tech support. The result is a streamlined workflow where each piece supports the next, removing friction from both the agent’s and client’s experience.

This structure also answers one of the many common questions new professionals ask: How to Market Yourself as a New Real Estate Agent. The short answer? Position yourself as an expert early and make sure your systems reinforce that image in a consistent manner.

Final Thought

A real estate schedule built the RECODemand way is less focused on grinding through hours and more about aligning time with opportunity. When the routine tasks run quietly in the background, professionals can step into calls with confidence, knowing their prospects already see them as the go-to authority.

Because much of the repetitive work, from sending reminders to confirming appointments, runs automatically, agents can free up hours every week. That extra time can be invested in building stronger client relationships, growing local connections, and reaching more potential buyers and sellers. To see how other agents are using these strategies in real time, connect with the RECODemand team on Facebook.

Tyson Smith’s Virtual Flip Formula Simplifies Wholesaling for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

By: Elowen Gray

Tyson Smith didn’t begin his career with a safety net of capital or connections. Like many first-time real estate entrepreneurs, he entered the field with limited resources and a desire for more control over his time and income. Today, as the founder and CEO of Virtual Flip Formula, Smith leads a real estate wholesaling education business based in Phoenix, Arizona, with a clear mission: to guide new entrepreneurs through the often misunderstood world of virtual real estate wholesaling.

A Practical Model for Real Estate Wholesaling

Virtual Flip Formula operates within the real estate niche, but its approach differs from conventional investing strategies. Rather than focusing on models that require purchasing property—such as short-term rentals or multifamily units—Smith emphasizes wholesaling, a method that allows individuals to facilitate deals without needing to own or finance the property themselves.

“Our process is built around accessibility,” Smith explains. “Most people don’t have the capital to purchase properties upfront. But wholesaling gives them a way to generate income without those barriers. All they really need is a phone and a strong work ethic.”

The program offers a combination of weekly coaching, structured mentorship, and a curriculum built around replicable wholesaling systems. It’s designed for aspiring wholesalers who may be starting from scratch but are committed to building a location-flexible business through real estate.

Building a Business from the Ground Up

Smith’s journey into the real estate space began with personal experimentation and public documentation. Initially sharing his own experiences on social media, he was soon approached by others eager to learn how he was closing deals virtually. That interest gradually grew, and what started as informal coaching evolved into a full-scale program—eventually rebranded as Virtual Flip Formula in early 2025.

One of the program’s distinguishing features is Smith’s direct involvement. Unlike larger, impersonal education brands, he maintains a hands-on role in mentoring new students. This approach is rooted in his own early challenges.

“Getting my first deal was the hardest part,” he says. “I didn’t have a coach or mentor—I had to figure it out by trial and error. That’s why I’m so focused on making sure our students don’t have to do it alone.”

That emphasis on mentorship is embedded into the structure of the Virtual Flip Formula program, from small group calls to one-on-one guidance. It’s also why the company keeps student success at the center of its operational goals.

From Side Hustle to Scalable Business

A key inflection point in Smith’s journey came when he transitioned from treating wholesaling as a side project to making it his full-time career. That shift allowed him to scale his business to seven figures in annual revenue, which in turn laid the foundation for Virtual Flip Formula.

According to Smith, the difference wasn’t a change in strategy, but in mindset and commitment. “Once I treated this like a real business—not just a side gig—everything changed. I had the time to go deeper, improve systems, and eventually teach others how to do the same.”

This practical and iterative approach continues to shape the company’s roadmap. Over the next 12–24 months, Smith plans to help at least 1,000 new wholesalers close their first deal. Longer term, he envisions building a nationwide network where students collaborate and close deals together across different markets.

A Vision Grounded in Freedom and Practicality

While Virtual Flip Formula is a business education company at its core, its foundational message speaks to something larger: the desire for flexibility in work and lifestyle. For Smith, this means more than just financial independence. It’s about autonomy and creating a life that doesn’t depend on a traditional 9-to-5.

He’s careful, however, to ground that vision in clear effort. “This isn’t an overnight process or a shortcut,” he says. “It takes work. But it’s work that can pay off if you stick with it.”

That no-nonsense ethos—combined with a system designed for real-world application—has shaped the growth of Virtual Flip Formula since its rebranding. Without lofty promises or complicated investment requirements, the program focuses instead on actionable education and community-based learning.

With the rise of remote work and independent income models, Smith’s approach to wholesaling may resonate with a growing demographic of people looking to escape rigid work environments. For those committed to learning and applying the process, Virtual Flip Formula offers a practical path into an often-overlooked corner of real estate—one where results depend more on consistency than credentials.

How to Navigate Divorce with Clarity: Building the Right Support for a Stronger Future

Divorce is one of life’s most challenging transitions. It’s a period marked by significant emotional, financial, and logistical changes that can affect every aspect of daily life. While the process may be complex, having the right guidance and resources can help individuals move through it with clarity and resilience.

This article explores how to approach divorce thoughtfully—from identifying your needs to building the right support team—so you can make informed decisions and protect your well-being.

Understanding the Many Layers of Divorce

Divorce is rarely a single-issue process. It often involves dividing assets, making child custody arrangements, and determining ongoing financial responsibilities. Each of these elements requires careful consideration, as decisions made now can have long-term effects on both parties.

Beyond the practicalities, there’s also the emotional dimension. The end of a marriage can bring feelings of grief, anger, relief, or uncertainty—all of which can influence decision-making. Recognizing and addressing these emotional factors early on can help prevent rash choices and foster a more constructive path forward.

Recognizing Your Individual Needs

No two divorces are the same, which means there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some individuals may prioritize financial stability, while others focus on co-parenting arrangements or personal well-being. Identifying your priorities at the outset can help guide your choices throughout the process.

For example:

  • Parents may need to focus on creating a stable, supportive environment for their children.
  • Those with shared businesses or investments might prioritize asset division strategies.
  • Individuals seeking a new start may place more emphasis on long-term housing and lifestyle changes.

By outlining your top concerns, you can better communicate with the professionals who will assist you.

Building the Right Support Team

A successful divorce outcome often depends on having a strong team in your corner. This can include:

  • Mental health professionals who provide emotional support and coping strategies.
  • Financial advisors who help you understand the implications of various settlement options.
  • Mediators who facilitate constructive communication and help reach agreements outside of court.

When legal representation is needed, it’s wise to work with highly recognized divorce professionals who have a proven track record in family law. Their experience can be invaluable in navigating the procedural and strategic aspects of divorce while keeping your best interests at the forefront.

The Role of Mediation and Collaborative Divorce

While some divorces are more complex, many can be resolved through alternative dispute resolution methods. Mediation and collaborative divorce approaches focus on cooperation rather than confrontation, allowing both parties to work toward mutually beneficial agreements.

These methods can often be less expensive, faster, and less emotionally draining than going to court. They also allow for greater flexibility, enabling couples to tailor solutions that meet their unique needs rather than relying solely on court-imposed decisions.

Managing the Emotional Side of Divorce

Divorce is as much an emotional journey as it is a legal and financial one. Stress, uncertainty, and conflict can take a toll on mental health, making self-care an essential part of the process.

Some effective coping strategies include:

  • Establishing a consistent daily routine to maintain stability.
  • Seeking counseling or joining a support group.
  • Engaging in activities that promote physical and emotional well-being, such as exercise, journaling, or spending time with supportive friends.

By prioritizing your emotional health, you are better equipped to make thoughtful decisions during this critical time.

Planning for Life After Divorce

Divorce doesn’t just mark the end of a chapter—it’s the beginning of a new one. Planning for life after the process concludes can help you regain a sense of control and optimism.

Consider focusing on:

  • Financial planning: Create a post-divorce budget that reflects your new circumstances.
  • Housing arrangements: Secure a living situation that supports your personal and family needs.
  • Personal goals: Revisit hobbies, interests, and career ambitions that may have been set aside.

Thinking ahead can transform uncertainty into an opportunity for growth and renewal.

Conclusion

Divorce can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By understanding the layers of the process, identifying your priorities, and assembling a supportive team, you can approach this life transition with greater confidence. Whether through mediation, collaborative solutions, or more formal proceedings, the right guidance can make all the difference in shaping a positive future.

Writing Between Worlds: How J.C. Ahern Balanced Purpose and Passion

By: Roy Abraham

In a world where most people choose between practicality and passion, J.C. Ahern confidently chose both and wrote her way.

Born in Columbia, Missouri, in 1988, Ahern’s life has been anything but predictable. From scribbling stories as a child to saving lives as a nurse practitioner, her journey goes between worlds, the real and the imagined, much like her unforgettable protagonist in the Strategy Series trilogy: Pawn, Royals, and Siege.

Today, she resides in Hallsville, Missouri, balancing her stethoscope and her imagination with admirable precision. Writing has always been an escape for her. It’s something she’s done since she was little. Replacing characters in her favorite stories with ones she made up. Eventually, those characters found lives of their own.

The Spark of Duality

Ahern earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Stephens College, but also pursued a more traditionally secure route, later obtaining a BSN and Master’s in Nursing. Remarkably, she wrote the first book in her Strategy trilogy, Pawn, during a grueling 15-month accelerated nursing program. The remaining books, Royals and Siege, came together in the rare slivers of time she found while working full-time as a nurse practitioner.

That’s not to say it was easy. It took nearly a decade for her to finish the trilogy. She didn’t market the books early on because she didn’t want to disappoint fans with long waits. But she never stopped writing.

Welcome to Skaki

The Strategy Series is an energetic, thought-provoking sci-fi rollercoaster that blends video games, anime, sports, mythology, and a sharp emotional core. At its heart is Rogue, a teenage girl who wakes up inside a brutal virtual chess-like reality known as Skaki. Her strength, resistance, and transformation from pawn to queen mirror much of Ahern’s own journey, balancing inner grit with vulnerability.

I wrote Rogue as the person I’d want to be in that world,” Ahern says. “But realistically? I’d probably fall far short of her.

Still, real-world parallels abound. Ahern drew from personal experiences with bullying, athletic competition, and the personalities of people she’s encountered, though she’s careful to say no character is a direct transplant. They’re inspirations but never carbon copies.

The books balance themes of resilience, identity, sacrifice, and the age-old game of power. Yet, they’re also laced with pop culture references, snappy humor, and emotional depth that appeals to readers ages 10 and up. She wanted the books to be fun. They’re fast-paced, full of action and feeling, and both kids and their parents have a great time with them.

Beyond the Final Move

Though Siege marks the end of the Strategy trilogy, Ahern’s creative momentum hasn’t slowed. She’s currently working on several new projects, including:

  • A LitRPG fantasy novel set in a deeply immersive game world.
  • A sci-fi horror story about zombies in space (Yes, it’s as wild as it sounds).
  • A Christian fantasy she’s nurtured since college, her “baby,” as she calls it.

While there may be no sequel to Strategy, her editor is writing short stories set in the same universe, so fans may not have seen the last of Skaki just yet.

Legacy Without Pressure

When asked what legacy she hopes to leave, Ahern’s answer is refreshingly grounded. “I just want readers to have a good time. Maybe feel a rush, maybe cry, maybe laugh. If my stories can give people even a few decades of happy nostalgia, I’ll consider that a win.

Her writing zone? Surprisingly low-key. Just give her chocolate milk, a chaotic or clean space (depending on her mood), a good movie score, and she’s set.

J.C. Ahern’s life is an example of one that is grounded in science and elevated by imagination. With a pen in one hand and a stethoscope in the other, she’s living proof that you don’t have to pick between saving lives and creating new ones on the page.

And like her heroine Rogue, she’s already played her first moves. Smart, fierce, and full of purpose.
