Love, Sacrifice, and Redemption in Elvis Is Alive: A Novel Overview By Robert M. Maughon

By: Jeremy C. Mulloy

What if one of the greatest legends of the 20th century never really left us? In Elvis Is Alive, author Robert M. Maughon dares to reimagine the life and legacy of Elvis Presley through a compelling lens of love, sacrifice, and redemption. This gripping novel kicks off a fictional series that explores one of the most enduring conspiracy theories in pop culture—did Elvis fake his own death?

At the heart of the story is Dr. Robert St. John, a Memphis coroner who is ordered to exhume Elvis Presley’s grave. What he discovers sets off a whirlwind journey that leads him to Paris and to a man claiming to be the real Elvis. This isn’t just a wild goose chase—it’s a deep exploration of a man’s desire for freedom, identity, and peace.

Love as a Lifeline

Throughout the novel, love emerges as a powerful force that drives decisions and shapes destinies. Whether it’s the love fans still carry for Elvis, or the personal relationships that develop between characters, Maughon shows how love can endure, even in the face of deception. The emotional weight of this love is what gives the novel its humanity.

The devotion of the fans who never believed in Elvis’s death, as well as the compassion that Dr. St. John begins to feel for Elvis, provides a deeper layer to the characters’ motivations. Even when faced with the uncertainty and illusion surrounding Elvis’s fate, love acts as a tether, holding onto the past and giving the characters a sense of purpose in their search for the truth.

The Price of Sacrifice

The Elvis portrayed here isn’t just a music icon—he’s a man worn down by fame and the constant demands of being someone else. His alleged decision to disappear was not one made lightly. It was a sacrifice—of fame, family, and connection—for the sake of reclaiming control over his life. Dr. St. John, too, sacrifices his career and safety as he chases the truth.

The novel explores the cost of such decisions in a world where personal desires often conflict with societal expectations. For both Elvis and Dr. St. John, the sacrifices made are not just physical but emotional as well, each man giving up parts of himself in pursuit of understanding, truth, and a second chance at peace.

Redemption and Second Chances

Elvis Is Alive is ultimately a story of redemption. Whether or not readers believe in the real-life theory, the fictional Elvis in Maughon’s world is searching for closure, healing, and a second chance at life. The journey is not just his—it’s also Dr. St. John’s personal path to understanding what it means to seek truth in a world full of illusion.

Maughon weaves together fact and fiction, fantasy and emotion, to offer a story that resonates with anyone who has ever wished for a second chance, or wondered what lies behind a public persona. Elvis Is Alive is more than a novel—it’s an invitation to imagine what could be, if only for the length of a page-turning ride.

Pink Bridesmaid Dresses – A Charming Choice for Every Wedding Style: A Selection from Ever-Pretty

When selecting the ideal color for your bridal party, few options are as timeless as the charm of pink bridesmaid dresses. Pink is a color that remains a popular choice—representing love, elegance, and celebration. Whether you’re planning a vintage garden wedding, a sophisticated ballroom event, or a beach celebration, pink can offer the right amount of softness and sophistication. Available in various shades, from blush to rose and mauve, pink can easily complement any theme, creating a romantic and cohesive look your bridal party will enjoy.

Let’s explore why pink continues to be a favored option in weddings—and how you can make the most of it for your celebration.

The Beauty of Pink Bridesmaid Dresses

Pink symbolizes love, sweetness, and happiness—traits that are often associated with weddings. Pink is a frequent choice among bridesmaids’ attire because it is warm and works well with almost any wedding color scheme.

From airy and light to rich and deep hues, pink is quite versatile. It can be styled for formal occasions, and looks pleasing on a variety of skin tones, making it suitable for many types of weddings.

Popular Modern Pink Bridesmaid Shades

There’s no single pink that fits every bride’s style—here are some popular shades to consider:

  • Blush Pink: A traditional, romantic shade, ideal for spring and summer weddings.
  • Dusty Rose: A warm, vintage tone that works particularly well for rustic or fall weddings.
  • Rosy Mauve: This mauve-pink hybrid offers a mature and sophisticated look.
  • Bubblegum Pink: Fun and lively, ideal for modern or playful wedding themes.
  • Champagne Pink: A pale, near-translucent color with a retro, upscale vibe.

As a modern trend, many brides now choose a mix-and-match look, with different shades of pink to create a romantic ombre effect among their bridesmaids.

How to Style Pink Bridesmaid Dresses

When adding accessories to pink bridesmaid dresses, consider aligning with the overall atmosphere and mood of your wedding. For a romantic, fairytale feel, opt for delicate rose gold or classic pearl jewelry, which can look effortlessly stylish against softer pink tones. For bouquets, you might choose bold deep red or burgundy roses for a dramatic contrast, or subtle white flowers and greenery for a softer, ethereal aesthetic.

Shoes also play an important role—heels are often a great choice for a chic appearance, while metallic silver or gold shoes can add a touch of glamour.

Hairstyles should complement the style of the dress and wedding theme: loose waves, flower headbands, or braids might be ideal for a boho or garden wedding, while sleek buns or elegant waves are ideal for more formal weddings.

What’s wonderful about pink bridesmaid dresses is that they are incredibly versatile. Whether you envision a simple outdoor gathering or a glamorous ballroom reception, pink gowns fit seamlessly and can look stunning in any setting.

Ideal Pink Picks by Season

  • Spring: Soft pink hues in lighter fabrics like chiffon or georgette.
  • Summer: Playful coral pink or floral patterns for a more daring look.
  • Fall: Dusky rose and mauve in rich fabrics like satin or velvet.
  • Winter: Opt for long-sleeved pink dresses or layered looks in warm materials such as silk or velvet.

Each season offers its own variation of pink to match its mood—simply choose the one that suits your theme.

Last Words

From pale pink to rich, bohemian shades, pink bridesmaids’ gowns continue to be a popular choice for brides who want a balance of elegance and playfulness. These dresses are easy to wear, flattering on many body types, and appropriate for a variety of wedding themes.

No matter what your wedding theme may be, pink gives you the flexibility to craft your own romantic celebration. Let your bridesmaids shine in this classic color and enjoy a beautiful day full of memories.

Unlocking the Power Within: Christina Nylese’s Self-Love, Self-Healing Invites Readers on a Journey to Wholeness

By: Olivia Grant

In a world often seeking quick fixes and external solutions, Self-Love, Self-Healing: Using the Mind and Body to Get Unstuck, Heal Old Wounds, and Live Abundantly offers a refreshing approach. Released on April 1, 2025, by holistic health coach and author Christina Nylese, this insightful book invites readers to explore the potential of self-love and healing as part of a journey toward wholeness.

At its core, Self-Love, Self-Healing blends memoir with practical guidance. Christina opens up about her experiences with addiction, perfectionism, and codependency, shedding light on challenges many face but often remain silent about. The result is a candid exploration that neither avoids pain nor complexity, but instead suggests that these struggles can be part of a path to transformation.

Divine Inspiration and the Birth of the Book

Christina’s process of writing the book is in itself a testament to the themes she explores. In an exclusive interview, she explained that the book began not as a memoir but as a digital course focused on a different audience and topic. However, as she wrote, her personal journey toward sobriety and deeper healing came to the forefront.

“This book didn’t begin the way it ended,” Christina shared. “Instead of resisting it, I stayed curious and kept writing. What I uncovered were parts of myself I hadn’t fully healed, despite already having the tools. That realization became the heart of the book.”

She attributes the unfolding of this project to divine inspiration, but emphasizes that it’s not just about her own healing—it’s also about offering others a way to discover that they, too, have the capacity for healing. “It’s not just about my healing,” she says, “it’s about showing others they have the ability to heal, too.”

Defining Self-Love and Self-Healing

The title itself suggests a dynamic and evolving process. Christina explains that self-love is the cornerstone of this journey—the essential foundation for self-healing. Rather than presenting self-love as a vague or abstract concept, she offers it as a practical practice rooted in mindfulness, self-awareness, and compassion.

“Self-healing has been the thread through all of my work,” Christina notes. Her coaching practice, Self-Healing Essentials, embodies this philosophy. Crucially, she stresses that self-healing is not about solitary struggle, but more about awakening the inner resources we may have forgotten—awareness, agency, and the power to make different choices.

“That’s what disrupts the cycle. That’s where transformation can begin.”

From Rock Bottom to Renewal

Christina’s recounting of her own struggles with addiction and perfectionism may resonate with many readers. Her story is not defined by a single dramatic moment but by a gradual unraveling of self until a turning point emerged.

“I describe the day I had my last drink,” Christina recalls. “It wasn’t planned; it was a moment of surrender. I was so exhausted, so depleted physically, mentally, and spiritually, I simply couldn’t continue.”

A week later, she found herself in a homeless shelter, confronting the stark reality of her situation. “In that sober moment, I surrendered, and from there, things slowly began to shift.”

Her personal experience gives the book authenticity and a sense of hope, emphasizing that healing is often a nonlinear process, but it is certainly a possibility for those who choose to pursue it.

The Body’s Role in Emotional Healing

Unlike some approaches that focus solely on the mind, Christina integrates the mind-body connection into her healing philosophy. She explains how nourishing the body with rest, movement, and nutritious food creates a synergistic effect that can positively influence mental and emotional well-being.

“When we take care of our bodies, we activate the mind-body connection in ways that can be transformative,” she explains. “Movement, for example, releases endorphins and encourages healthier choices. This cycle rewires our brains, shifts how we speak to ourselves, and reconnects us with purpose.”

Her holistic approach encourages readers to view healing as an integrated system—mind, body, and soul working together for sustained change.

Practical Steps for Those Feeling Stuck

For many, the most difficult step is simply beginning. Christina acknowledges that awareness alone doesn’t always result in change. “If nothing changes, nothing changes,” she reminds readers, echoing a recovery mantra.

She encourages readers to acknowledge their current reality and be willing to take the necessary steps toward transformation. Self-inquiry—asking genuine questions about personal motivations and behaviors—becomes a gateway for overcoming challenges like codependency and low self-worth.

“Getting unstuck starts with getting honest,” she says. “Self-inquiry opens the door to real healing.”

Why This Book Matters

Self-Love, Self-Healing stands out not only for its personal storytelling but also for its actionable wisdom. Each chapter includes reflective exercises and “Self-Healing Invitations” designed to help readers begin their own journeys toward wholeness.

In a culture that often places emphasis on external success or quick fixes, Christina’s message is significant: healing is a gradual process that starts with an inward focus, fostering kindness, courage, and conscious choices.

Readers from various backgrounds will likely find something to connect with in her words, whether they are struggling with addiction, perfectionism, emotional pain, or simply seeking a more meaningful life.

Where to Find It

Available in hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats, Self-Love, Self-Healing is accessible to a wide range of readers who are ready to embark on this transformative journey. Christina Nylese’s book is more than just a read—it serves as an invitation to discover and cultivate the love and healing potential already present within.

Startup Success Stories: How Back‑Office Operations Make or Break Scale‑Ups

Startup success stories tend to follow the same script: charismatic founders, breakthrough ideas, and viral launches. The spotlight always shines on branding, pitch decks, and customer acquisition. But behind the scenes, something less glamorous is often falling apart.

The truth? Most startups don’t fail because they can’t sell. They fail because they can’t deliver.

What’s missing from most startup advice isn’t a new front-end tactic. It’s a deeper understanding of what happens after someone clicks “buy.”

In this article, we’ll break down how logistics, inventory systems, and backend processes quietly determine which startups scale—and which ones stall. We’ll also walk through a real-world case where one brand fixed its ops and got back on track.

Understanding the Invisible Engine: What Back-End Operations Really Mean

You can’t grow a business that’s leaking from the bottom. And yet, most early-stage founders overlook the “invisible engine” of their business: the backend.

Here’s what that actually includes—stripped of buzzwords.

1. Inventory Management

Where’s your stock? How fast is it selling? Are you about to run out?

These aren’t questions you should answer in a spreadsheet at midnight. You need real-time visibility—especially if you’re selling across multiple channels like Shopify, Amazon, and retail.

2. Warehousing & Fulfillment

Pick, pack, ship sounds simple. But it’s where most problems begin.

A mislabeled package or late delivery isn’t just a logistics issue—it’s a customer experience failure. And when returns start piling up or damaged goods go unprocessed, trust erodes quickly.

3. Retail & Marketplace Compliance

Getting into Walmart or Target is exciting—until you realize they expect perfection.

One wrong label or late ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) file can trigger chargebacks, delistings, or canceled orders. Brands that aren’t EDI-compliant from day one risk burning their biggest opportunities.

4. Systems Integration

Your tools—Shopify, ERP, WMS, shipping software—need to talk to each other.

If they don’t, your team ends up patching holes manually. That works for a while—until a spike in orders exposes every broken link. Eventually, every manual fix fails.

Backend operations aren’t optional. They’re the infrastructure your brand runs on. And if it’s not solid, the next surge in demand won’t be a win—it’ll be a breaking point.

Case Study: When Marketing Worked, but Ops Didn’t

Let’s look at a real-world example (anonymized for privacy) that mirrors what many startups face.

A wellness brand launched with a beautiful identity, strong DTC sales on Shopify, and a few smart influencer campaigns that went viral. Their growth outpaced expectations. Within six months, they secured a nationwide deal with a major retailer.

That’s when the wheels came off.

Their 3PL wasn’t ready for retail volume. Shipments got delayed, and boxes arrived with incorrect SKUs.

Inventory mismatches led to backorders. Their backend didn’t reflect real stock levels. Customers bought what didn’t exist.

They weren’t retail-compliant. Retailer systems flagged them for missing or improperly formatted EDI documents, including late ASN files. The result? Chargebacks, canceled orders, and a tarnished retail relationship.

Internally, the team was overwhelmed. Refunds surged, customer complaints flooded support channels, and what should have been a breakout year became a burnout cycle.

So they pivoted.

They brought in a new warehouse partner that offered proper routing guide adherence and CrossBridge support for backend setup. They implemented a lightweight ERP, connected it to their Shopify storefront, and built clear SOPs for returns and inbound shipping.

The next retail deal? Smooth. Orders went out on time, returns dropped, and customer ratings recovered. Their marketing didn’t change—but the results did, because operations finally caught up.

Three Scaling Lessons from the Backend

1. Operational Debt Compounds Like Technical Debt

Every time your team “just handles it manually,” you’re creating a future liability. It may work today—but at scale, those manual workarounds collapse.

The invoice you retyped this week will be 500 invoices next month. The order you fulfilled by hand will be 5,000 before the year’s out.

Backend messes don’t fix themselves. They compound—quietly, then all at once.

2. Growth Doesn’t Break Systems—It Reveals What Was Already Broken

Founders often say, “We didn’t expect to grow this fast.”

But in truth, the cracks were already there:

  • A disorganized WMS that couldn’t reconcile inventory.
  • Ad-hoc returns processing done by customer support.
  • An ERP that wasn’t connected to marketing, logistics, or retail accounts.
  • Fast growth didn’t cause the collapse. It just made the flaws undeniable.

3. Systems Create Freedom

Structure doesn’t kill creativity—it protects it.

When your backend just works:

  • Your marketers aren’t chasing fulfillment errors.
  • Your finance team isn’t panicking over stockouts.
  • Your product team can focus on innovation, not fire drills.

A well-integrated backend is what gives your team the headspace to build. It’s not the enemy of speed—it’s the foundation of sustainable speed.

Founders Need to Shift from Firefighting to System Building

In the early days, founders do everything. That’s part of the job. But the longer you stay in that mode—fixing problems by hand, reacting to the latest fire—the harder it becomes to scale.

Sustainable startups don’t grow by adding more hustle. They grow by building better systems.

Here’s what that looks like:

One reliable warehouse partner with national reach (so you don’t need to juggle multiple fulfillment vendors).

A lightweight ERP that syncs inventory, orders, and financials in real time.

Clear inbound/outbound workflows, so your team isn’t guessing what to do with a return or a delayed pallet.

Forecasting tools tied directly to your marketing calendar, so your next product drop doesn’t lead to a stockout.

These aren’t expensive enterprise tools. They’re accessible now—especially through integrated solutions like CrossBridge, which brings warehousing, compliance, and operations into one managed system.

Startups that build this foundation early don’t just avoid mistakes—they grow with confidence.

The Quiet Heroes of Startup Success

Most startup wins don’t feel like fireworks. They feel like orders going out on time.

They feel like customers getting what they expected, without writing into support. Like your ops team sleeping through the night, because nothing broke.

The branding gets attention. But the backend earns trust.

If you want to build a company that lasts, you can’t just focus on the front-end story. You need the machinery underneath to be just as strong—maybe stronger.

Because at the end of the day, consistency scales. And backend systems—not noise—are what make that possible.

Harness the Power of Solar Panels: A Sustainable Energy Solution

Solar energy is gradually reshaping how we power our homes and businesses. As awareness of environmental sustainability grows and energy costs continue to rise, an increasing number of people are considering solar panels as a way to reduce their carbon footprint and lower electricity bills. If you’re contemplating making the shift, exploring the variety of solar panel kits available today could be an ideal first step.

What Are Solar Panels and How Do They Work?

Solar panels are devices designed to convert sunlight into usable electricity. Composed of multiple photovoltaic (PV) cells, these panels absorb sunlight and generate direct current (DC) electricity. This DC electricity is then converted into alternating current (AC) through an inverter, allowing it to power household appliances.

The efficiency and quality of solar panels have generally improved over the years, making solar energy more accessible and potentially affordable. By installing solar panels, you could reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, lower electricity bills, and contribute to a cleaner environment.

For those new to solar energy, starting with BougeRV solar panel kits could make the installation process simpler. These kits include all necessary components, such as panels, mounting hardware, wiring, and inverters, offering a comprehensive solution for both homeowners and businesses.

Advantages of Using Solar Panel Kits for Home Energy

Choosing solar panel kits can be a practical approach to investing in solar energy without the challenge of sourcing individual components. These kits are designed for ease of installation and can typically be set up by either DIY enthusiasts or professional installers.

One notable advantage of solar panel kits is their scalability. Whether you aim to power a small cabin or a large home, kits are available in various sizes and configurations to meet different energy demands. This flexibility allows you to start small and gradually expand your system as your needs evolve.

Additionally, many solar panel kits come with user manuals and support resources, making the transition to solar energy less overwhelming. These kits also often include warranty coverage, offering some protection for your investment over time.

Using a complete kit ensures that all components are compatible, which can help improve system efficiency and potentially extend the system’s lifespan. This integrated approach may save you time and money, creating a smoother path toward sustainable energy. Explore reliable solar panel kits to enhance convenience and efficiency in your home energy projects.

Environmental Impact and Cost Savings with Solar Panels

Installing solar panels represents one of the most effective methods for reducing your environmental impact. Solar energy is clean, renewable, and produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation, making it an important factor in combating climate change.

By generating your electricity, you decrease dependence on fossil fuels and reduce the demand on power plants, which are contributors to air pollution. Over the lifespan of a solar panel system, this could lead to a significant reduction in carbon emissions.

From a financial perspective, solar panels can help lower your electricity bills. Once installed, solar panels produce free energy from the sun, which can offset your monthly energy costs. Many regions also offer tax incentives, rebates, or net metering programs, making solar energy more financially viable for some.

When paired with efficient solar panel kits, you can potentially maximize energy production and system performance, which might result in quicker returns on your investment. Explore premium solar panels to make an eco-friendly and economical energy choice.

Installation Considerations for Solar Panel Kits

Proper installation is key to the performance and durability of your solar energy system. Fortunately, solar panel kits are designed to simplify the process, often including mounting hardware and clear instructions.

Before installation, it’s important to assess the sunlight exposure in your location. Ideal placement often involves rooftops or open areas with minimal shading throughout the day. The angle and orientation of the panels also influence energy capture, so following manufacturer guidelines could be essential.

Using a solar panel kit ensures component compatibility, reducing potential technical issues during setup. For those unfamiliar with electrical systems, hiring a certified installer may help ensure compliance with local regulations and provide additional peace of mind.

Maintenance of solar panels is generally straightforward, involving periodic cleaning and inspections to maintain optimal efficiency. Investing in a quality solar panel kit could improve durability and long-term performance.

Future Trends and Innovations in Solar Panels

The solar energy industry is continually evolving, with innovations aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility. Advanced materials and technology are making solar panels lighter, more flexible, and potentially more efficient than ever before.

Emerging trends include bifacial solar panels that capture sunlight on both sides and integrated solar solutions that blend seamlessly with building materials. These developments expand the potential applications of solar energy in both urban and rural settings.

Additionally, smart solar panel kits are integrating with home energy management systems, allowing users to monitor and optimize energy use in real time. This connectivity could enhance energy savings and improve user convenience.

As the cost of solar technology continues to decline, a growing number of people may find these cutting-edge solutions accessible, helping to accelerate the global transition toward sustainable energy. Stay ahead with innovative solar panels and explore the latest solar panel kits for your home or business.

D’yan Forest, Guinness World Record Holder for Oldest Working Comedian, Debuts New Show, “A Gefilte Fish Out of Water,” on 91st Birthday

By: Lorri Jayleen

On July 31st, D’yan Forest will debut her new show: “D’yan Forest: A Gefilte Fish Out of Water” at the iconic Joe’s Pub in celebration of her 91st birthday and another year as the Guinness World Record for Oldest Working Comedian.

Forest, who has been donned “the filthy Betty White” title, has not let this year slow her down.  Her chic outfits, staple ukulele, and glamorous 90-year-old self-continue to grace the stages of iconic NYC venues such as The Wild Project, Gotham Comedy Club and Joe’s Pub at Astor Place.

“One percent of people my age are alive, the rest are dead,” said Forest in an interview with Forbes last year, claiming that it is crucial for people to remain active after turning 65. Her active lifestyle and pacemaker have prevented Forest from slowing down in the slightest – seemingly, she is speeding herself up.

Although born in the suburbs of Boston, D’yan has lived a life quite far from that of a typical New Englander. Her new show, “A Gefilte Fish out of Water,” will feature the trials and tribulations of being a jew. It’s never been easy being a Jew, but after 91 years, D’yan can laugh about it. About D’yan Forest:

D’yan Forest was raised as a provincial girl in the conservative suburbs of Boston. After a “scandalous” divorce for the time and two years of oral French lessons, Forest got on a five-day boat ride to study abroad in Paris. After falling in love with the city, Forest would then fully embrace the French culture, which would determine the trajectory of the rest of her career.

Back in the US, Forest performed as an international singer at golf clubs, country clubs, bars, and restaurants. Her life as a singer was cut short when the entertainment business was in New York. The city was brought to a halt after the 9/11 attacks. With no idea that she had the capability to be funny, Forest became what the world needed the most at that time: a comedian. With her ukulele in hand, Forest put together a hysterical and risqué one-woman show, which caught on quickly.

COVID-19 got Forest wondering what else she could do with all of her wonderfully hilarious stories from life. I Did it My Ways is the culmination of her sitcom-worthy life events, now available for all to read. But this book is no indication that the 90-year-old is done taking to the stage. Her act, “Swinging on the Seine,” can still be seen in New York and Paris at some of the most famed comedy clubs.

The Heart of Innovation How Janice Kephart Brings Humanity to Biometric Tech

By: Elena Mart

In an era where algorithms often make decisions faster than the human mind can process, the idea of technology having a heart might seem unusual. However, for Janice Kephart, CEO of Identity Strategy Partners and founder of ZipID, this is far from an abstract concept – it is a guiding principle.

Her entry into the intricate world of identity and biometrics did not begin with an app or a startup – it began with tragedy. In 1993, Janice’s brother-in-law was among the victims of the World Trade Center bombing. His death, a result of smoke inhalation complications, not only caused deep personal loss but also sparked a lifelong mission: to understand how systems designed to protect lives could sometimes fail. This mission would take her from the halls of Washington, D.C., as counsel to both the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and the 9/11 Commission, to the tech-forward world of entrepreneurial innovation, where she would aim to not just secure identities but also uphold them.

Humanizing Biometric Technology for Employers

For many, biometric technology may evoke images of surveillance and cold, impersonal scanning. Yet, Janice sees it differently. “Technology should serve the person, not the other way around,” she explains. This philosophy lies at the heart of ZipID, her compliance-based platform that seeks to redefine the employer experience of identity verification.

For employers, the process of onboarding new hires can often mean dealing with outdated systems, cumbersome forms, and an ongoing risk of non-compliance. ZipID aims to change that. By working closely with former government officials, ZipID offers a proprietary workflow that requires no prior knowledge of the Form I-9 to maintain compliance.

Designed to simplify the Form I-9 process, ZipID enhances confidence between employers and their new hires. It features secure biometric verification, reduces human error, minimizes audit risk, and ensures a consistent, transparent view of compliance activities across all employer locations and users.

“We’re not just solving a paperwork issue – we’re addressing a trust issue,” Janice explains. ZipID empowers HR teams to verify identities with both speed and accuracy, all while ensuring a user-friendly experience that respects both the employer’s time and the employee’s dignity.

Trust as Technology’s Greatest Asset

“In government, I saw the breakdowns – how data was misused, how people’s personal information became a liability instead of a strength,” Janice reflects. This experience profoundly shaped her view on the role of technology in society: trust cannot be built solely through policy – it must be cultivated through thoughtful design.

With ZipID, Janice has embedded a core principle: Trust First. Data is encrypted end-to-end, stored securely, and handled with strict compliance measures. However, beyond these technical safeguards, her team places a strong emphasis on the human experience. For employers, this means confidence – knowing that their systems are compliant, their people are protected, and their brand reputation is preserved.

A Vision for the Future of Work and Identity

While ZipID is already transforming how businesses manage I-9 compliance, Janice’s vision extends well beyond just onboarding paperwork. She envisions a future where employee identity verification is not only frictionless and mobile-friendly but also profoundly secure. “I want companies to stop viewing compliance as a burden and begin seeing it as an asset,” she says.

Her approach is particularly timely as remote and hybrid workforces continue to grow. Employers need identity solutions that can scale across distributed teams without compromising trust or security. With ZipID, they receive not only a product but a partner in compliance.

Leading with Heart, Innovating for Employers

For Janice, entrepreneurship is more than just solving problems – it’s about serving people. Every line of code developed at ZipID is crafted with a singular aim: to make identity protection both secure and humane, for individuals as well as organizations.

“If technology doesn’t improve life for both the employer and the employee,” she notes, “then what is its purpose?”

Janice Kephart is shaping a new standard in biometric verification – not only through innovation but also with purpose. Under her guidance, technology becomes more than just efficient; it becomes ethical, employer-centric, and deeply human.

For forward-thinking companies, ZipID offers more than a compliance solution. It provides a strategic advantage – an opportunity to simplify hiring, reduce risk, and foster trust at every level of the organization.

Reset Your Midlife Metabolism with Allie Theiss

By: Sandra Whitman

When it comes to weight gain, fatigue, and frustration in midlife, many women find themselves asking: Why isn’t what used to work working anymore?

According to Allie Theiss, MSc, CSC, ABS, a nationally recognized Menopausal Care Provider and Integrative Wellness Coach, the answer lies in our hormones—and more importantly, how we respond to them through nutrition and movement.

“Your body is not broken,” says Theiss. “It’s changing. The wellness strategies that worked in your 20s and 30s need to evolve. Midlife is an invitation to treat your body with deeper wisdom, not harder effort.”

Through her signature Thrive Framework™, Theiss helps women rebalance their hormones, restore their vitality, and feel at home in their bodies again without extreme dieting or punishing fitness regimens. Her work has gained national attention, including features in Cosmopolitan, collaborations with Maven Clinic and MenoWave, and her popular MenoSpark podcast.

As Theiss explains, menopause is a whole-body transformation, especially when it comes to metabolism, fat storage, and energy levels. Hormones like estrogen, insulin, and cortisol begin to shift, creating a new internal landscape that demands a fresh approach.

Why Midlife Women Gain Weight Differently

Midlife weight gain is not just a matter of willpower, it’s physiological. As estrogen levels decline during perimenopause and menopause, they affect how the body stores fat, particularly around the abdomen. This decline also affects insulin sensitivity, making blood sugar spikes more frequent and cravings more challenging to control. Add in chronic stress, which elevates cortisol and encourages fat retention, and it becomes clear that a “calories in, calories out” mindset simply doesn’t cut it anymore.

“So many women come to me saying, ‘I’m eating clean and working out, but I’m gaining weight!’” says Theiss. “The truth is, their bodies need something entirely different now—more nourishment, more rest, and smarter movement.”

What Kind of Nutrition Works Now

Instead of restrictive dieting, Theiss advocates for hormone-aware nourishment that focuses on stability rather than deprivation. The foundation? Blood sugar balance. This means prioritizing slow-digesting carbohydrates, healthy fats, lean proteins, and a generous amount of fiber to maintain steady energy levels and reduce inflammation.

Anti-inflammatory foods, such as leafy greens, berries, salmon, turmeric, and flaxseed, are staples in Theiss’s nutritional philosophy, as they help counteract the systemic inflammation that tends to rise during menopause. Hydration, mineral intake, and gut health also play vital roles in mood regulation, digestion, and weight management.

“It’s not about dieting, it’s about designing meals that keep your hormones and nervous system steady,” Theiss explains. “That means more whole foods, more pleasure in eating, and less guilt around doing it perfectly.”

How Movement Supports Weight and Energy

When it comes to exercise, many women believe the key to midlife weight loss is to push harder. But Theiss challenges this idea, encouraging clients to shift from overtraining to sustainable, supportive movement. Her preferred method? A balance of gentle strength training, walking, mobility work, and rest-based recovery.

“High-intensity workouts can elevate cortisol, which in turn worsens belly fat and burnout,” she says. “Instead, we focus on building muscle to support metabolism, while also incorporating movement that soothes the nervous system. Walking, yoga, Pilates, these are powerful tools when used consistently.”

This shift toward restorative movement also helps women improve sleep, mood, and joint health, key areas often compromised in the menopause transition.

The Empowered Midlife Body

The core of Theiss’s message is empowerment. She urges women to drop the perfectionism, ditch the shame, and adopt a more compassionate and informed approach to caring for their bodies.

“Midlife is not a time to shrink yourself. It’s a time to reawaken your relationship with your body,” she says. “When we stop punishing ourselves for the ways our bodies change and start supporting those changes with wisdom, everything begins to shift.”

This philosophy runs through all of Theiss’s offerings, from her personalized coaching to her community-based programs and retreats. And now, she’s introducing a powerful new resource for women ready to take the first step toward hormonal harmony.

New from Menopause Wellness: Crave Shift™

Launching June 2025, Allie Theiss introduces Crave Shift™: Reset Your Cravings. Reclaim Your Body.

This 3-part holistic mini-course is designed for midlife women who feel like they’re doing everything “right” but still can’t lose weight or stop the cycle of cravings and emotional eating.

“This course helps women understand the why behind their cravings and gives them simple, sustainable tools to feel more in control,” says Theiss. “No shame. No starvation. Just science-backed strategies rooted in hormonal care and self-compassion.”

In tandem with the course, Theiss is also launching Crave Control ™, a proprietary essential oil roll-on made with a hormone-aware blend of botanicals that supports appetite regulation and reduces stress-driven snacking throughout the day.

Crave Shift™ is more than a course. It’s a mindset shift that aligns with Allie’s greater mission: to help women stop fighting their bodies and start nourishing them with the care and clarity they deserve.

A New Era of Menopause Wellness

As menopause wellness continues to evolve, Allie Theiss stands at the forefront of this movement, bringing empathy, education, and innovation to a space that has long been overlooked by traditional medicine. Her work reminds women that aging doesn’t mean decline; it means wisdom, strength, and renewed vitality.

“You don’t need to fix your body, you just need to listen to it in a new way,” Theiss affirms. “And when you do, everything begins to change.”
