The Bulgarian actor and stuntman, who has carved a unique path through Hollywood, is gearing up for a three-month journey across the U.S., starting with rehearsals in Denver this January. Kussovski first joined The Thorn in 2024, taking on the roles of a warrior angel and a Roman soldier. His early years were marked by a fascination with movement and discipline, which eventually evolved into live martial arts demonstrations. 

In 2021, Kussovski’s talent gained national recognition when he won the Golden Buzzer on Bulgaria’s Got Talent. This moment marked the beginning of a shift in focus from martial arts to acting. He enrolled in theatre classes and discovered a new passion for storytelling. A chance encounter with a local stunt coordinator soon brought him to NU Boyana film studios, where he transitioned into stunt work. His first film, History of Mankind, introduced him to the cinematic world, blending his martial arts expertise with his growing interest in performance.

That same year, Kussovski moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the New York Film Academy (NYFA). Immersing himself in the city’s creative scene, he quickly landed roles in short films, commercials, and music videos. A highlight of his time at NYFA was playing Peter Pan in Peter and the Starcatcher, a production that drew sold-out crowds for three consecutive nights.

Discover Roommates: A Fresh New Sitcom

The “Roommates” series, starring Kris Tash and Niko Gunn, blew audiences by storm in the summer of 2024. The sitcom debuted on YouTube on June 7th, 2024, with the pilot episode titled: “Roommates | S1 E1: The Pilot.” This episode features their lead characters (Kris and Niko) meeting for the first time ever at a public park. Kris accidentally bumped into Niko while riding a skateboard, knocking the magazines out of his hands for their first interaction.

Kris gets back to his college dorm and coincidentally finds out who his new roommate is… Niko. They engage in another conversation, and Kris isn’t too thrilled to have Niko as his new roommate.

This leads to the synopsis of the second episode: “Roommates | S1 E2: College Party,” released on June 28th, 2024. Niko throws a college party inside their dorm. Kris is infuriated because he never approved of it, and the guests who attended are behaving out of control. Prior to the wild event, the first half of the episode focuses on Kris going over ground rules and boundaries with Niko about being roommates because he wants them to start over on a clean slate in order for the duo to keep the peace between each other. Kris’ negotiations backfire, so he meets up with a friend to discuss Niko’s antics and a possible switch for a new roommate.

Lastly, in their third new episode titled: “Roommates | S1 E3: Crazy Ex,” released on January 3rd, 2025, Niko’s ex-girlfriend Yolanda pays him a short visit to the dorm. Yolanda decides to leave so she will not be late for her next class, but she becomes highly suspicious of Niko fooling around with other girls behind her back. Kris notices this and immediately warns Niko that karma is going to catch up with him if he continues to play with women’s feelings. Meanwhile, Yolanda has a special surprise in mind for Niko.

These Roommates episodes are 3/3 so far—very well-polished storytelling, steady-paced, and naturally hilarious!

The next upcoming episode will be filmed in production very soon, which will be titled: “Roommates | S1 E4: Kris’ Job Interview.” The synopsis of this already-funny episode is that Kris is stressing about successfully passing his job interview, and he’s worried about not getting hired. Meanwhile, Niko accidentally laced Kris right before his big interview. I wonder what kind of hallucinations Kris will envision. Kris is definitely going to scold Niko for his immature actions.

The amount of patience Kris obtains for him is very impressive because the majority of roommates in the real world would have done everything in their power to get rid of their roommate in order to replace him with a better one. The release of episode four will be worth the wait because the dynamic duo delivers every single time they share the screen together.

The chemistry between Kris Tash and Niko Gunn is undeniable. They have both worked on various projects, such as short films, with each other in the past. The whole idea of the Roommates series started from none other than director and producer D’Anthony Boyd. He envisioned the sitcom back in early 2022. Boyd had an idea to create a college buddy sitcom involving two main actors who would be the focal points of the show, resembling Drake & Josh, Kenan & Kel, etc.

This turned out to be a fantastic idea because Roommates brings back the nostalgic late 90s/early 2000s vibes in their episodes, and I’m all here for it. The most distinct quality about this show is that it does not have a laugh track, which makes the experience even more unique.

The more episodes that come along the way, the better the exposure will be for the entire cast. Roommates has the potential to go down in history as one of the greatest shows to ever exist if the cast remains consistent with the episode releases. Both Tash and Gunn will soon become the prominent faces of modern-day sitcoms.

New opportunities will arise for the actors whenever they decide to conclude the show after a few seasons. Hopefully, the cast and crew of Roommates will land a deal with Netflix and other streaming platforms in the near future because that would be big news. Fingers crossed!

I can’t wait to see where Kris and Niko’s characters go from here. Roommates will officially be featured on the Times Square Billboard in New York as well.

How Flow Cytometry Works?

Flow cytometry is a powerful analyzing technique based on the production of an electrical  signal proportional to the physical and chemical properties of a cell or another particle in a  fluid medium.  

Immunology, oncology, and clinical diagnostics are some sectors where this technology has a  major utility. Thus, the realization of a powerful tool for rapid quantitative data on cells has  introduced flow cytometry into modern biological practice and changed the approaches to  investigating numerous problems in both basic and clinical research. 

Flow cytometry in its simplest form involves the irradiation of cells in suspension with a laser  beam. Illuminating cells with the aid of a beam allows the light to scatter and a cell will  fluoresce if it has been tagged with fluorescent dyes. This scattered light and fluorescence is  what a flow cytometer can then use to measure a variety of characteristics regarding each  cell including the size, the granularity, and the nature of proteins within it. This process  enables finding the characteristics of thousands of cells in one second so that it may be  considered an efficient procedure in characterizing cells. 

Key Components of Flow Cytometry 

Several key components contribute to the functionality of a flow cytometer: 

  • Fluidics System: This system is utilized to convey cells suspended in a fluid flow  towards the laser beam and is mandatory for the correct operation of the whole  apparatus. It makes certain that a cell file is well aligned hence may easily be interacted  with by the laser. 
  • Laser: The centerpiece of the flow cytometer is the laser. It supplies the kind of light  that will precipitate the fluorescence of the labels attached to the cells. This  information shows that the available laser may excite various markers in the  fluorescent assays so that multiple assays may be run in parallel.

Cells  have to be proved in an ideal buffer and often in order need to be labelled with  antibodies conjugated with fluorides that bind separate markers. Sample preparation  is very important as it may impact the overall result. 
  • Loading the Sample: After preparation, the sample is then loaded into the flow  cytometer. Flow cytometry is completed with a collection of four protocols. The  fluidics system aspirates the sample into the instrument and positions the cells in a  stream since most particle analysis requires the identification of particles in a stream. 
  • Excitation and Detection: Cellular response to the laser beam is achieved by passing  the cells through it and capturing the light emitted by passed cells. The system  includes forward scatter, which corresponds to cell size, side scatter, which  corresponds to cell granularity, and fluorescence from tagged markers. 
  • Data Analysis: This detection is followed by the signal transmitting to the computer  software where an assessment of the signals takes place. Using the software, various  types of plots such as histograms, dot plots, and other formats may be obtained for  ease of understanding of the outcomes. 
  • Interpreting Results: The analyzed data is then further analyzed to come up with  significant conclusions on the cell populations. They may DISSECT this analysis for  specific details regarding the health, functioning, and identity of specific cells which  would be Central to various studies and therapy plans. 

Applications of Flow Cytometry 

Flow cytometry plays a wide role in immunology, oncology, hematology, microbiology,  genetics, evolution, astrophysics, and other many disciplines.: 

  • Immunology: Flow cytometry was used to investigate immune cell population, their  activation, and response to treatments by researchers. That is why it is critical to  institute diseases and work on the corresponding treatment methods. 
  • Cancer Research: In oncology, flow cytometry is used to identify the characteristics of  all tumors, measure MRD, and determine the efficacy of therapeutic approaches. It  reveals some information regarding the variation of tumors. 
  • Clinical Diagnostics: Flow cytometry is a routine diagnostic method in most clinical  laboratories and is applied for the diagnosis of blood diseases including leukemia and  lymphoma. It helps in the management of the severity of an illness and how it should  be managed.
  • Stem Cell Research: The use of flow cytometry instrumentation in the isolation and  Characterization of stem cells is useful in research for regenerative medicine and  tissue engineering. 

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Flow Cytometry 

Flow cytometry offers several advantages: 

  • Speed: Flow cytometry has the advantage of generating results at great speed with  thousands of cells analyzed per second. 
  • Multiplexing: Several fluorescent markers may work at once allowing sampling of more  than one parameter in a given sample. 
  • Quantitative Data: This technology gives clues that give quantitative data as the  samples are compared. 

However, flow cytometry also has limitations: 

  • Sample Preparation: Sample preparation is important, and any mistake that one  makes to do so will only give him or her the wrong result. 
  • Cost: Some flow cytometers are costly, and performing the assays demands costly  reagents and pulling-through training. 
  • Complexity: Flow cytometry data analysis may be challenging with many possibilities  for misinterpretation which requires understanding to avoid. 

Future Directions in Flow Cytometry 

Technological development has not left flow cytometry out, and there are constant  improvements. Technological advancements including spectral flow cytometry are preferable  because they enable a simultaneous identification of even more fluorescent labels leading to  increased possibilities of analysis. In addition, combining with other methods, for example,  mass cytometry or single-cell RNA sequencing, is expanding new opportunities. 

Flow cytometry has become an essential technique in present biological and  medical studies. This technique has accelerated our ability to study and quantify the functions  and dysfunctions of single-cell organisms and complexes.  

As there is a constant development of new technology and an increased knowledge of the  human cell, flow cytometry is likely to continue to be the leading biological tool for examining  new discoveries and diagnostics.

Watch restaurants and locals buying their fish for dinner. We recommend trying some of Japan’s delicacies: fresh, thinly sliced sashimi, oysters, sushi rolls, or BBQ-ed fish. Join a food tour and visit some of the best stalls around the market. 

Tip: In reality, every kind of food you can imagine is sourceable in Tokyo; you’ll also find plenty of Italian and French restaurants and plentiful bakeries serving freshly baked pastries – most delicious when eaten warm first thing in the morning.

Exciting New Openings and Attractions

Tokyo’s skyline is constantly evolving. In 2025, attractions like the recently expanded TeamLab Planets and new luxury shopping complexes in Ginza and Shinjuku promise fresh experiences for visitors.
