How to Select the Right Steel Flange Material for High-Pressure Systems

High-pressure systems rely on components that must withstand significant forces while maintaining reliability. Steel flanges, essential for connecting pipes and equipment, are no exception. Their material should meet specific operational demands to help ensure safety and efficiency. Let’s break down the critical considerations and material options for high-pressure systems, focusing on practical insights and industry-specific factors.

Steel Flanges and Their Function in High-Pressure Systems

Steel flanges act as connectors within piping systems, enabling secure joints between pipes, valves, and other components. Widely used in industrial applications, steel flanges aim to balance strength, durability, and compatibility with demanding operating conditions. Failure to choose the correct material may result in issues such as leaks, premature wear, or system breakdowns.

Applications for high-pressure steel flanges are common in industries like oil and gas, power generation, and chemical processing. These settings often require materials that balance strength, durability, and compatibility with operating conditions.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Steel Flange Materials

Selecting the right flange material involves several technical considerations. The decision should align with the specific requirements of the system and its environment.

Pressure and Temperature Ratings

Each flange material has a range of pressures and temperatures it can tolerate. For example:

  • Carbon steel is suitable for moderate pressures and temperatures but may not perform well in extremes.
  • Stainless steel performs reliably under high temperatures and pressure.
  • Alloy steels, such as chrome-moly, are designed for the most demanding applications, where both heat and pressure exceed typical levels.

Using materials that exceed the system’s maximum pressure or temperature can provide an added safety margin but may unnecessarily increase costs.

Corrosion Resistance

The operating environment significantly impacts flange material selection. Corrosive environments, such as those involving saltwater or acidic chemicals, require materials with high resistance to degradation:

  • Stainless steel grades, like 316, offer strong resistance to general corrosion and chlorides.
  • Duplex stainless steels provide enhanced resistance to pitting and stress corrosion compared to standard grades.
  • Nickel alloys, though more expensive, handle highly aggressive chemicals effectively in extreme environments.

Corrosion may weaken flanges over time, potentially leading to leaks or failures. Ensuring the material matches the environmental challenges is critical for durability.

Fluid Compatibility

The fluid being transported influences the material choice. Systems carrying hydrocarbons, for instance, may require flanges that resist hydrogen sulfide corrosion. For systems with clean water or steam, simpler materials like carbon steel may suffice. Matching the material with the fluid helps prevent chemical reactions that could degrade the flange or contaminate the system.

Mechanical Strength

Flanges in high-pressure systems must handle forces from internal pressure, external loads, and thermal expansion. Alloy steels, known for their strength-to-weight ratio, are often preferred in situations where higher mechanical stress is anticipated.

Regulatory Standards

Steel flange materials should comply with industry standards, such as ASME or ASTM specifications. These standards help ensure the material has been tested and certified for specific applications, reducing the likelihood of failures. Standards also simplify material selection by providing clear benchmarks for performance.

Economic and Operational Factors

While performance is critical, budget considerations should not be ignored. Exotic materials, like nickel alloys, offer unmatched performance in niche applications but can be prohibitively expensive for routine use. Balancing upfront costs with long-term maintenance and replacement expenses often provides a more sustainable solution.

Common Flange Material Options

Here’s a closer look at the most commonly used steel flange materials and their properties:

Carbon Steel

  • Strength: Economical and effective for moderate systems.
  • Drawback: Lacks corrosion resistance, which limits its application in humid or saline environments.
  • Applications: Industrial piping for non-corrosive fluids, HVAC systems, and basic utility lines.

Stainless Steel

  • Strength: Resistant to corrosion and offers good durability.
  • Drawback: Higher cost compared to carbon steel.
  • Applications: Used in systems exposed to moisture, chemicals, or temperature fluctuations, such as food processing and marine applications.

Alloy Steel

  • Strength: Superior performance under extreme pressure and temperature.
  • Drawback: More careful handling is required during manufacturing due to specific alloy compositions.
  • Applications: Ideal for power plants, high-pressure steam systems, and petrochemical facilities.

Duplex Stainless Steel

  • Strength: Combines the toughness of carbon steel with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
  • Drawback: It can be more expensive than regular stainless steel and challenging to source.
  • Applications: Offshore rigs, chemical processing plants, and environments with chloride exposure.

Nickel Alloys

  • Strength: Exceptional resistance to corrosion and high temperatures.
  • Drawback: High cost and limited availability.
  • Applications: Specialized uses such as chemical reactors and aerospace systems.

Steps for Choosing the Right Material

Analyze System Requirements

Define the operational pressure, temperature, and fluid characteristics. For example, a system carrying steam at 600°F may require a different material than one handling chilled water.

Evaluate Environmental Conditions

Consider external factors like salinity, humidity, or chemical exposure. Flanges exposed to saltwater spray, such as in coastal installations, are likely to benefit from materials like duplex stainless steel to resist corrosion.

Consult Standards

Review relevant industry standards and ensure materials meet regulatory guidelines. This can help minimize liability and provide confidence that the flange can handle expected loads.

Weigh Cost vs. Performance

Assess whether the system justifies the expense of premium materials. In cases where maintenance costs outweigh initial savings, higher-performance materials might offer better value in the long run.

Seek Expert Guidance

If uncertainties remain, consult with engineers or material specialists. Their expertise can address knowledge gaps and help avoid costly mistakes.

Strategy Over Simplicity

Selecting the right steel flange material is not just a matter of ticking boxes for pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance. It’s a strategic decision that considers system longevity, maintenance cycles, and the cost-benefit balance. Choosing an appropriate material upfront may reduce operational risks, enhance safety, and improve system efficiency.

Every project has unique demands. The best outcomes come from understanding these needs, consulting experts when necessary, and prioritizing long-term value over short-term savings.

Igor Khodakivskyi: Building a Successful Restaurant Business from Scratch

By Chris Gallagher

Igor Khodakivskyi is a visionary entrepreneur whose name has become synonymous with excellence in the restaurant industry. Over the last two decades, Igor has launched more than 30 successful projects, transforming his passion for food and hospitality into thriving businesses. From intimate cafés where patrons savor artisanal coffee to bustling restaurant chains that have redefined dining experiences, his ability to anticipate trends and exceed customer expectations has earned him a reputation as an accomplished restaurateur in Eastern Europe.

Today, Igor serves as the co-founder of the Orangery restaurant chain in Crimea. However, his vision stretches far beyond his current ventures. Igor is now setting his sights on one of the most competitive markets in the world — the United States. With plans to establish restaurants in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York, he brings years of expertise, a commitment to innovation, and an unwavering dedication to creating spaces that resonate with both locals and visitors.

“The U.S. market is diverse and dynamic. I believe I can bring something genuinely fresh — concepts that reflect both my experience and a deep understanding of what customers truly value,” Igor shares.

Khodakivskyi’s Principles for Restaurant Success

For Igor, the restaurant business is about much more than food — it’s about crafting an entire experience that stays with guests long after they leave. Over the years, he has developed a distinct set of principles that have guided him in building sustainable and beloved establishments.

  1. Emotional Experiences Above All. “A meal is about more than filling your stomach — it’s about filling your soul,” Igor explains. For him, a restaurant should evoke emotions that customers can’t recreate at home. Whether it’s the warmth of impeccable service, the ambiance of soft lighting, or the surprise of a beautifully plated dish, every detail contributes to a larger emotional story. A restaurant, in Igor’s mind, becomes a place where celebrations happen, memories are made, and ordinary evenings are turned into something magical.
  2. Open Kitchens: A Window into Trust. Igor revolutionized customer trust by introducing open kitchens in his establishments. Allowing guests to see chefs at work transforms the dining experience. Watching meals prepared right before their eyes creates an element of theater while reinforcing transparency and hygiene. Igor believes that this connection between kitchen and table builds confidence and excitement — two essential ingredients for customer loyalty.
  3. Thoughtful Interior Design: The Power of First Impressions. In an age of social media, aesthetics matter more than ever. Igor is meticulous about interior design, ensuring that each space feels unique, inviting, and Instagram-worthy. “We want every corner to tell a story,” he says. From eye-catching décor to thoughtfully arranged seating that balances comfort and intimacy, Igor’s restaurants are designed as much for the camera as they are for the senses. Customer photos become free advertising, and every post shared online helps the brand grow.
  4. Menu Innovations That Keep Guests Coming Back. Igor takes a bold approach to menu development, introducing unexpected elements that keep customers intrigued. For instance, popular dishes are sometimes rotated out for a period of time, creating buzz and anticipation for their return. Limited-time offerings, seasonal ingredients, and visually striking dishes ensure that the dining experience remains fresh and exciting. “People don’t just come for a meal. They come for discovery,” Igor notes.
  5. Employee Growth: Building a Passionate Team. A successful restaurant starts with the people who run it. Igor is deeply committed to developing his staff, offering clear paths for career advancement. Entry-level employees are encouraged to grow within the organization, eventually taking on managerial roles or leading new projects. By fostering a culture of loyalty, hard work, and passion, Igor has built teams that care as much about the business as he does.

Commitment to Sustainability. As a modern entrepreneur, Igor believes that business success and ecological responsibility go hand in hand. Sustainability is integrated into every facet of his operations:

  • Leftover ingredients are repurposed into meals for staff, reducing food waste.
  • Recycling practices are strictly adhered to, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
  • Used cooking oil is collected and processed for biofuel production, supporting greener energy solutions.

Igor’s commitment to sustainability not only reflects his respect for the environment but also aligns with the values of a growing number of customers who prioritize responsible business practices.

Expert Suggestions for Launching a Restaurant

Igor’s advice for aspiring restaurateurs boils down to three critical factors:

  1. Location is Everything. Igor emphasizes that a restaurant’s success often begins with its location. “You can have the best concept in the world, but if no one can find you, it won’t matter,” he states. Ideal locations are visible, easily accessible, and aligned with the restaurant’s target audience.
  2. Ergonomics: Make the Space Work for You. Before signing a lease, Igor advises thoroughly analyzing the layout. Adequate space for both technical areas (kitchen, storage, back offices) and customer seating is essential. “A restaurant should flow naturally — for guests and for staff,” he explains. Proper ergonomics streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.
  3. Never Underestimate the Power of Design. Cutting corners on design, Igor warns, is a shortcut to failure. A restaurant’s interior should be an extension of its brand and concept. Collaborating with professional designers who can bring your vision to life is an investment that pays off in customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Igor Khodakivskyi, also known in business circles as Rocketkin or Raketa, has earned several prestigious awards from the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia. He was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the restaurant industry through the implementation of innovative solutions, his creativity and originality, and his role in executing unique projects within the sector.

At Igor’s establishments in Crimea, an eco-friendly, innovative approach is consistently applied, along with a zero-waste concept. Thanks to these strategies, he has created numerous jobs, and his enterprises consistently outperform competitors in terms of profitability.

Looking Ahead: Bringing Innovation to the U.S. Market

As Igor prepares to expand into the United States, he is excited to introduce fresh ideas and unique experiences to American diners. His vision combines decades of experience with a deep understanding of what makes a restaurant memorable. From vibrant interiors to inventive menus, Igor’s projects are designed to stand out in a competitive market. “I’ve spent years perfecting my approach, and now I’m ready to share it with a new audience,” he says confidently.

Key Takeaway: Passion, innovation, and attention to detail — these are the foundations of Igor Khodakivskyi’s success. For aspiring restaurateurs, his story is both an inspiration and a roadmap: Build with heart, create unforgettable experiences, and success will follow.

The Power of Sacrifice and Destiny in Of Wind and Shadow

By: Jason Gerber

Few stories show the deep impact of sacrifice and the inescapable pull of destiny, like Devon Cook’s Of Wind and Shadow. Beneath its layers of thrilling battles and magical intrigue lies a crucial exploration of what it means to give everything to those we hold dear.

At its core, the story is a tribute to selflessness. From the very beginning, the Eythora family is confronted with impossible choices. King Hakan and Queen Mairenn, fiercely protective of their children, face the ultimate parental dilemma: keeping their daughter Fallyn close or sending her far away to save her life. Their love is evident in every decision they make, even when those choices come at a significant personal cost.

Hakan’s role as king and father is fraught with tension. His duty to his kingdom often clashes with his devotion to his family. Should he focus his efforts on his people’s safety or prioritize his children’s well-being? This conflict defines his character and the deep humanity that Cook brings to her protagonists. Through Hakan, readers witness the weight of leadership and the sacrifices it demands, especially when personal stakes are involved.

Mairenn, on the other hand, embodies the strength of a mother. Her love for her children is her guiding force, and she refuses to let fear dictate her actions. Her decision to part with Fallyn, a move she knows is necessary but heartbreaking, reflects her courage and determination. Mairenn’s journey reminds us of the quiet yet crucial sacrifices that often go unseen yet have far-reaching consequences.

Meanwhile, Fallyn’s story is a journey of acceptance and resilience. Forced to leave her home and grow up in the mortal world, she must face the challenges of an ordinary life while struggling with the extraordinary truth of her heritage.

As she matures, Fallyn learns that destiny is not a burden to be avoided but a responsibility to be embraced. Her evolution from a reluctant participant in fate’s plans to a determined force for good shows the novel’s central theme: the power of sacrifice to shape and strengthen us.

Cook integrates these personal sacrifices into the overarching pattern of destiny. The idea that the fates have a grand design for everyone is a recurring motif, and it raises thought-provoking questions about free will and predestination. Are we the masters of our paths, or do we merely follow the threads laid out for us?

The story’s exploration of these themes is both heart-wrenching and inspiring. It forces readers to confront their ideas of sacrifice and destiny. It challenges them to consider what they would be willing to give up for the people and causes they love.

This emotional depth makes Of Wind and Shadow beyond a simple fantasy tale. It is a story that lingers in the heart, a reminder that strength is born from struggle and that even in the face of overwhelming odds, love and courage can triumph.

Whether Hakan’s steadfast resolve, Mairenn’s fierce maternal instincts, or Fallyn’s journey to self-discovery, each character offers a unique perspective on the sacrifices that shape us. Their stories resonate because they reflect the universal truths of life: that love is worth fighting for and that destiny, no matter how daunting, is a path we must walk with courage and faith.

Christopher Dines – Biography, Facts, DJing, Music & Books

Christopher Francis Dines was born in 1983 in the London Borough of Harrow, England. He is of Anglo, Irish, and Kenyan heritage. Dines took up DJing in 1994, performing at private house parties. His father bought Christopher his very first records back in the late-1980s during the acid house and rave movement in England. Christopher’s mother encouraged him to pursue his passion for music and bought him his first DJ mixer.

Christopher was privately educated at Stanborough independent primary school in Watford and Pinner Park middle school in Harrow. Christopher then attended Nower Hill high school in Pinner, and it was at this tender age that his love of music resulted in him hosting local school dance parties on a regular basis. He ceased pursuing further academic education at the age of fifteen to work in the late-1990s London dance music industry. By then, Christopher had gained a significant following among nightclub enthusiasts in North West London.

At fifteen, Dines got his first break DJing on London’s underground dance music pirate radio station, 103.6 Flex FM in South West London. As a Flex FM DJ, his credibility among ravers and serious clubbers was elevated almost overnight. Simultaneously, Christopher aggressively promoted UK garage artists, The Genius Cru and DJ Deekline, in Northwest London, for a couple of years while hosting events in the West End of London. Christopher left Flex FM and enjoyed a short spell DJ’ing on 88.4 Ice FM, another impactful house and UK garage music pirate radio operating in West London, before quitting pirate radio altogether to focus on breaking into the mainstream house music scene.

During this era, Christopher succumbed to addiction to alcohol and illegal mind- and mood-altering substances such as cocaine, cannabis and MDMA. His late teens were fraught with deep depression, weekday benders, broken personal relationships and suicidal ideation, all of which almost destroyed his chances of making a career in dance music.

However, Christopher got sober on August 30th, 2004, and has remained abstinent ever since. He attended twelve-step support meetings and group therapy and made drastic changes to his lifestyle. Christopher took a three-month break from DJing, focusing rather on attending support groups and recovering from burnout.

In January 2005, he was invited back to DJ in Thailand and relaunched his music career in Asia. He regularly DJ’ed at 1/5 in Hong Kong, Q-Bar in Bangkok, and Mint Bar in Koh Samui. The Mint Bar became a laboratory for Christopher to experiment with alternative genres in dance music, giving him a boost in confidence otherwise lost towards the end of his time suffering from the effects of untreated addiction. Christopher learned to meditate at the Big Buddha Temple in Koh Samui, kick-starting a trajectory of self-examination and contemplation.

Under the pseudonym of both Kris Lopez and Chris Lopez, Christopher DJ’ed at Ministry of Sound in London, City Loud at Turnmills, Defected In The House at Pacha, Axis Discotheque in Malta, London Fashion Week, Paul “Trouble” Anderson’s Loft, Hippodrome, Gas Club in Leicester Square, Dungeons nightclub, Garage City at Bar Rumba on Shaftesbury Avenue, and had a residency at Fez Club in Chelsea, before his 22nd birthday.

In 2005, Christopher co-founded a deep house record label called SuCasa Beats, operating as the head of A&R from 2005 to 2006. He signed Afro Medusa, Marlon D (Defected Records), Steal Vybe (Vega Records), Andy Daniel (Defected Records), and Pablo Martinez (King Street Sound), promoting the record label at Plan B in Brixton, South London. Christopher remixed Afro Medusa’s smash hit records ‘Beautiful Thing’ and ‘Pasilda Part 2: Come a Little Closer’ and produced his own records, such as ‘Addicted.’

In June 2006, Christopher retired from DJing and went on to facilitate mindfulness workshops teaching addicts and alcoholics and those suffering from mental illness how to meditate and incorporate mindfulness into their daily lives. He has published eight books on mindfulness, addiction, and self-actualization.

Rudolph E. Tanzi, Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School, wrote the foreword to Dines’ book Drug Addiction Recovery. His latest book Super Self-Care has been translated into Vietnamese. The American venture philanthropist, Eileen Rockefeller, endorsed Super Self-Care and has supported Christopher’s works in recent years. British Conservative and Labour Parliamentarians Richard Bacon MP and Peter Kyle MP have both endorsed his books. Christopher co-authored The Kindness Habit with Dr. Barbara Mariposa (Riverbank Book UK, 2016) and authored Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness Burnout Prevention.

In his mid-30s, Christopher took up adult education and was tutored by Professor Piers Bursill-Hall—Cambridge University, studying the history of science and pure mathematics. Dines is an ambassador for Project Eileen charity based in Brighton & Hove in England, and facilitates private mindfulness sessions for the luxury rehab Addcounsel situated in Knightsbridge, London.

In 2023, Dines co-founded Word Aptitude with his partner Mary McGahan, providing copywriting and editorial services to companies worldwide. Christopher Dines is currently writing his debut novel under the pen name Francis Dines.

From Channeling a River to Overseeing a Home Construction, Diego Otero Discusses the Many Hats of a Civil Engineer Project Manager

By: George North

Each job comes with its own unique set of hats you have to wear. While, for most, these hats are not physical, they do represent the different jobs that are required within the overall field of employment. For many industries, these tasks are intrinsically related to each other allowing practitioners to learn each new job without too much effort. However, as a civil engineer project manager, Diego Otero must be able to schedule, plan, forecast, source and manage all the technical aspects of a new construction.

This of course requires a level of detail and determination which has taken Otero years to master. “At the beginning of my career, I didn’t get on top of plans, they got on top of me,” he says. Determined to change this, the Colombian born project manager has spent years dedicating himself to improving his organization and planning skills.

So What Exactly Does a Civil Engineer Project Manager Do?

They are the ones charged with the oversight of a given project. This means they have a hand to play in every aspect of a job. From the purchasing of the land to the planning of the building and eventual construction, Otero is there with a watchful eye, ensuring completion while maintaining high standards.

Currently working at OP Builders in Florida, Otero is focusing on house construction projects. Admitting “engineering projects no matter the size are my passion,” he has approached each new build with a measured approach. This approach he has learned over the many years of engineering projects he has worked on, taking lessons from each one.

A project that stands out not only to Otero, but also to his home country, was his work on the Las Ceibas River. The issue was simple enough to understand, “the Las Ceibas River was running perpendicular to the Magdalena River, and during periods of high flow, the Las Ceibas River could not easily evacuate all the sediments that the river carried, leaving it at the mouth causing a kind of dam.” While the locals, and Otero understood the issue at hand, finding a solution was going to be no easy matter.

From Channeling a River to Overseeing a Home Construction, Diego Otero Discusses the Many Hats of a Civil Engineer Project Manager

“By damming these sediments at the mouth, the river overflowed, when dammed downstream, there was flooded upstream,” he details. In order to solve these problems, the mouth of the river was going to have to be rechanneled, so that it flows parallel to the Magdalena River, without causing sedimentation in this area. For most of us, we have only ever heard of something like this in Greek Mythology, but Otero was ready to spring into action.

For the project to be successful, it was important for him to understand all the factors. The work had to be completed quickly as weather is unpredictable and floods can happen anytime. “After organizing the mouth, the work of channeling the river continued with retaining walls of up to 21 feet, reducing the cross-sectional area uniformly to 164 feet, the flow rate increased and by having a mobile bed, we now had to take into account the durability of the new river bed,” says Otero, when discussing one of the hurdles they had to consider.

In order to handle this they set up transverse structures along the new Las Ceibas riverbed. “These structures were like little dams, under the water and 6 and a half feet above the natural terrain at the river bottom.” What these did was essentially slow the flow of the river down during times of heavy flow and helped to reinforce the 21 foot concrete retaining walls. In the transverse structures were built other elements added in such as drainage pipes and serrations along the walls themselves which help deal with the issues of overturning and displacement of all the structures.

The completion of such a monumental project can’t be overstated. Otero helped spearhead a project that had a huge impact on local life. It provided relief from the constantly overflowing Las Ceibas river, with a unique solution. This, Otero says, “is my favorite project I have ever worked on.” However, currently he is working on slightly smaller less Herculean tasks such as overseeing the construction of houses.

His work rechanneling the Las Ceibas River was on a massive magnitude, one that he does not even touch during the building of houses. But the project manager is content, “engineering projects are my passion, big or small they all have their magic touch.” As such he approaches each new one with the same level of planning which went into the rechanneling.

This involves Otero believes, “setting the stage to develop the plan and defining the result or mission of the project for my clients.” His main focus for any project is to ensure that he achieves the intended goals set forth by the client. He does so by meticulously planning each stage which includes preparing for any possible delays or issues that occur.

While his career has been both long and successful, Otero believes he owes a lot of his success to running. The discipline instilled in him from sticking to his running schedule has allowed him to flourish in both his professional and personal life. The Colombian born project manager has learned, “the key is not in the hard work, but in the strategy.”

With this ethos Otero has set himself apart as one to look out for in the future. With the success of his projects at OP Builders continuing, he has one eye towards the future. Looking at his industry as a whole he says, “I see it evolving and becoming more efficient in terms of time and costs as we continue to implement new technologies including Artificial Intelligence.” The future doesn’t end there as the materials will continue to get lighter and stronger, and the impact on the environment will continue to shrink.

So whether channeling a river or building a house, Diego Otero can do it all. His projects may have gotten smaller in size, but not in importance to him. And with his attention to planning and details, anything is possible. We look forward to watching his future unfold, overseeing the construction of beautiful houses while continuing to push his limits on his daily run.

From Children’s Fairy Tales to Adult Women’s True Stories: An Interview with the Book Writer Anastasia Iakovleva, Founder of the Project ‘Marsiada’

By: Zach Miller

Professional journalist, author, and founder of Marsiada Inc., Anastasia Iakovleva has over eighteen years of experience in international business magazines World Economic Journal, Financial One, and CITY MAGAZINE. She holds two higher degrees: one in law from Tyumen State University and another in journalism from Lomonosov Moscow State University. She interviewed influential global politicians and businessmen. Having written more than 1,000 articles, 50 video interviews, and four custom biographies, Anastasia has now dedicated her passion for storytelling to Marsiada Inc. In this interview, she shares her journey, inspirations, and diverse projects, from narratives like Six Psycho Ladies to the imaginative world of UNIQUE.

Anastasia, you have an incredible journey from being a journalist to becoming a published author. What inspired your transition into storytelling, and how has your background in journalism influenced your books?

Working as a journalist, I interviewed many different people – from small businessmen to major international politicians and owners of global corporations. Watching people, I was surprised at how incredible things they told behind the scenes. It was another world, hidden from ordinary people. Inspiring and amazing. So I thought it would be interesting to write about some stories, of course, changing the names and the course of events.

People always inspire each other to do something. Think about it. All our actions are somehow connected with society and with thoughts about what others will think of us and how we will look in the eyes of other people. That’s why people are interested in knowing what others are doing and how they are doing. They like to read and listen to other people’s stories. That’s why people are my inspiration.

Could you tell us about Marsiada Inc.? What is the vision behind this project, and how does it tie into your passion for storytelling and creativity?

The Marsiada project unites everything that my team and I do. First of all, it is video interviews and custom book publishing by system “all inclusive” (from the idea of the book that the customer had to publish on Amazon.com), as well as publishing a series of my own books with real stories and children’s fairy tales. In addition, we have now started developing a children’s YouTube channel “Marsiada” with short cartoons generated using AI. It all started with the creation of the YouTube channel “Private Talk” as a platform for telling the stories of successful Russian-speaking business women from the former CIS countries living in the USA. But over time, men appeared on the channel, including Americans. And now we have changed the name to “Privet Story,” and in the near future, the concept of the channel will also change a little. These will no longer be interviews about any business that Russian-speaking women in America are engaged in; these will be stories from life. But we are only at the beginning of our journey! In addition, we are currently upgrading the course “Fairy Tale Therapy,” which helps parents find a common language with their children and solve problems by simply making up fairy tales at home.

“Six Psycho Ladies” delves into stories based on real events from your experiences as a journalist. What inspired you to explore these narratives, and what message do you hope readers take away from this book?

I really like to think about people’s destinies and how our actions influence our lives. I am a lawyer in my first education (and a journalist in my second education). And I remember that I really liked studying cause-and-effect relationships in a course on forensics. Ha-ha! By the way, some of my favorite movies, which are also connected with people’s stories and the influence of their decisions on their entire subsequent life, are “The Game” with Michael Douglas and “The Butterfly Effect.” But, I got a little distracted!)

In this regard, I would like to say that each of us has a moment when we do something we didn’t expect from ourselves. And this is the very moment when we begin to ask ourselves questions: Was it really me? How well do I know myself, and do I know myself in general? How will I act in a force majeure situation for myself? Will I become a victim or turn into a hunter in danger? Will I forgive the offense? Will I fight for self-salvation? etc. In my life, there were also situations when I did not recognize myself and was surprised by my actions. And I think that every person, at least once in his life, faces situations in which he makes unexpected decisions for himself. My stories are written in straightforward language, and there are no philosophical reflections and reasoning about how the hero acted. All conclusions and inferences are made by the reader himself. Therefore, the philosophy of the stories themselves is to give the reader food for thought about himself, his boundaries and principles and how he would act in the place of the hero of the story.

The characters in your “UNIQUE” series, such as the brave animals exploring space, are relatable yet fantastical. How did you develop these characters, and what lessons do you hope children and families learn from their adventures?

When I became a mother (my son is 7 years old), I started thinking about what fairy tales I would tell my little one. I wanted to find a fairy tale that would teach him to believe in himself and miracles! The belief that sometimes the impossible is possible! That if you really want it, you can fly into space! At the same time, I wanted it not to be a primitive children’s fairy tale but with a twisted plot and instilling in children an interest in science and space. In the end, I wrote such a fairy tale myself. By the way, the main character, inventor Alan Maka, is a prototype of a person I admire – Elon Musk. It is he who sends the heroes of my fairy tale Hamster, Orange Fluffy and Puppy Dog to explore Mars. I want to send my fairy tale as a gift to Elon Musk. Who knows his contacts? Tell me, please.

Therefore, the main lessons of this fairy tale are – explore the world, don’t stop and believe in yourself! Even if now you are a lonely and useless hamster, if you dream, you will achieve your goal and become great! I have published the first and second parts of the fairy tale, as well as a coloring book based on the plot.

In the second part of “UNIQUE”, which is called “UNIQUE: Planet Call”, the heroes of the tale, returning from Mars, fall into a black space hole, where they end up on a planet-clone of the Earth. Tell us, what is the idea of the plot?

I often think about the fact that we are not alone – not only in our Universe, but also beyond it. The idea of “UNIQUE: Planet Call” is that on a planet-clone of the Earth in a parallel Universe, the fantasies and dreams of real people who live on the real planet Earth come to life. And besides, the heroes of these animated fantasies are able to mentally contact their owners – the people who invented them. The main characters of the book meet on this clone planet, for example, a German rock star who is tired of publicity and dreams of being alone for one day and just mowing wheat in a field, so that there are no paparazzi and fans around. And also a panda flying on a car sparkling with neon lights, which has birds instead of ordinary wheels – all this is the embodiment of the fantasies of a Chinese schoolgirl who dreams about this during lessons at school. I will not tell you further, it is better to read it yourself – there is a lot of interesting stuff in the book.

Whether it’s the grounded narratives of “Six Psycho Ladies” or the imaginative worlds of UNIQUE: The Untold Secret and UNIQUE: Planet Call, what inspires you to create stories that are so diverse in tone and theme?

I am a woman who is interested in passions and self-knowledge, and also a loving mother who wants the best for her child. These two states inspire me to write such different books.

You have accomplished so much in journalism, writing, and education. What new projects or stories can readers look forward to from you and Marsiada Inc.?

First of all, I started writing a new series with women’s stories. In addition, we started a project to visualize the stories using AI neural networks. For this, a professional voice over artist was invited, who recorded the stories in a whisper into a highly sensitive microphone of 3Dio Binaural ASMR sound. The publication of the first series has been a bit delayed, so I can’t give a time frame yet. But I believe that it will be very interesting!

Saving Marine Life: Natalia Kapchuk’s Powerful New Art Series

By: FprBuro Communications Agency

December 2024 – Renowned artist, philanthropist, and environmentalist Natalia Kapchuk has unveiled her latest project, The Lost Animals, a powerful mixed-media art series highlighting the critical plight of endangered marine species. Following the success of her previous series, The Lost Planet, which captured global attention for its focus on environmental degradation, Kapchuk’s latest endeavor takes her artistic and activist journey further, emphasizing the urgency of protecting our planet’s vulnerable creatures.

A Subtle Plea for Change Through Art

The Lost Animals is both an artistic triumph and a movement. This compelling series features meticulously crafted sculptures that immortalize endangered species from the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List. Each piece is a visual testament to the fragility of life in the world’s oceans and the devastating impacts of human activities such as overfishing, poaching, pollution, and habitat destruction.

“The diversity, beauty, grace, and mystery of our planet’s marine life have deeply inspired me,” Kapchuk shares. “Unfortunately, many species face dramatic population declines and potential extinction, largely due to human activities. Through The Lost Animals, I aim to confront these critical threats and awaken viewers to the heartbreaking realities our wildlife faces. I hope this work will foster a greater commitment to conservation and protection.”

A Fusion of Artistry and Activism

Kapchuk’s sculptures are created using a unique blend of materials and techniques, including recycled fiberglass, flocking, hand detailing, and electroplating. The artist combines these with her signature mixed-media style to produce visually stunning works that evoke beauty and sorrow. The intricate craftsmanship reflects years of dedicated research into the habitats and behaviors of species such as the Blue Whale, Great Hammerhead Shark, Hawksbill Sea Turtle, and Spinetail Devil Ray.

These sculptures transcend traditional art by serving as educational tools and advocacy pieces. They depict the intricate beauty of each species and incorporate elements that symbolize the threats they face, such as plastic debris and netting, underscoring the urgent need for global action to protect marine ecosystems.

A Growing Legacy of Environmental Advocacy

Kapchuk’s commitment to environmental conservation extends far beyond her studio. She uses her platform to champion sustainability and biodiversity as an ambassador for the Parliamentary Society of Arts, Fashion, and Sports (UK) and the Better World Fund (BWF). Her art has garnered support from leading organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund, Plastic Oceans Europe, and Earthwatch Europe. These partnerships reflect her belief that art can be a transformative force in raising awareness and driving change.

Her previous works have been showcased at prestigious events and institutions worldwide, including the StART Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Shanghai International Art Fair, and the India Art Fair. Auction houses like Christie’s and Phillips have also featured her pieces, with proceeds supporting charitable initiatives.

Notable milestones include the sale of Saharan Sands for £27,940 at Phillips and The Vanishing Antarctica for $50,000 at the Global Citizen Forum Charity Auction. These accomplishments underscore the art community’s recognition of Kapchuk’s ability to merge aesthetic mastery with meaningful advocacy.

A Vision for the Future

The Lost Animals is set to debut in early 2025 in Dubai, UAE, further solidifying Kapchuk’s reputation as a global advocate for environmental preservation. The exhibition promises to be a profound experience, combining visual beauty with an urgent message about the state of the world’s oceans.

Kapchuk’s journey as an artist and environmentalist is a testament to her lifelong dedication to blending creativity with activism. Born in Yekaterinburg, Russia, she began exploring art early, inspired by her mother, a sculptor. Her formal education in art and international relations laid the foundation for a career that bridges diverse disciplines and cultures. Today, she splits her time between London and Dubai, creating art that resonates with audiences worldwide.

A Broader Impact

Kapchuk’s previous series, The Lost Planet, highlighted global environmental degradation, earning acclaim from art fairs, museums, and collectors. This series and The Lost Animals reflect her ability to tackle complex environmental issues through innovative artistic expressions. Her works, held in private collections across the UK, France, the UAE, and India, inspire reflection and action.

In addition to exhibitions, Kapchuk’s art has reached public platforms, including a video installation on Oxford Street in London and a Times Square showcase in New York City. These high-visibility events amplify her message, engaging a broader audience in the fight to protect our planet.

A Legacy of Hope

Kapchuk’s work poignantly reminds humanity of its interconnectedness with nature. Her art compels viewers to confront the reality of environmental destruction while offering a vision of hope through collective action. By bringing attention to endangered marine species, The Lost Animals invites individuals, communities, and policymakers to join the effort to preserve Earth’s fragile ecosystems.

As Kapchuk prepares for The Lost Animals’ Dubai debut, her message remains clear: art can inspire change, and the time to act is now. For more information on her work, visit Natalia Kapchuk’s website or contact her press office at FprBuro Communications Agency.

Tips to Manage Your Finances During the Christmas Holidays

Holiday shopping often feels unavoidable. While holiday shopping can be enjoyable, it’s important to manage it thoughtfully to avoid overspending. Holidays are a source of joy, and celebrating doesn’t have to exhaust all your money.

If you’re curious about how to stay on a budget during the holiday, this guide offers practical suggestions to help you avoid overusing your credit card and maintain financial stability.

Read on to explore in detail.

1. Set Your Holiday Spending Limits

When the holiday season is near, the best practice you can consider is giving a break to your credit card. While it can be tempting to spend more during joyful celebrations, setting a spending limit can help you stay in control of your finances.

You can use this opportunity to get your budget into shape. By establishing a limit, you’ll have a clearer idea of what fits within your means and where to draw the line. While setting your budget, ensure you are aware of your sacrifices. For example, if you spend your clothing budget on presents, you might have to forgo new warm clothes for the season.

2. Make a Present List

On Christmas, it’s Santa who brings gifts for the whole world. If you’re in charge of gifting for several people, prioritizing close family members can be a practical approach to managing costs.

If you still want to share the joy of Christmas with others, you could bake cookies or create small, thoughtful gestures instead of buying expensive gifts. This approach can help you celebrate without overextending your budget or feeling financial stress.

3. Be Realistic About Your Budget

Budgeting is key to making the most out of your finances. Creating a realistic budget tailored to your holiday needs can make a significant difference in how you manage your expenses. Keep in mind that during holidays, it’s essential to consider your financial limits when purchasing gifts.

There is no need to follow trends or feel pressured to overspend. If you have to send money internationally for the holidays, take time to research the best exchange rates and platforms if you need to send money internationally, which can help you save and avoid financial strain while staying within your holiday budget.

4. Become a Coupon Code Collector

Coupon collecting has become a popular practice, and it can provide helpful savings during your holiday shopping, making it a rewarding habit. A little discount here and there can add up over time.

Try to collect coupons from both online and physical stores. Additionally, compare prices before purchasing to ensure you’re getting the best deals, making your shopping experience more cost-effective and efficient.

5. Provide Personalized Gifts

When it comes to holiday gifts, they don’t have to be expensive or branded. Personalized gifts offer a thoughtful way to express love without overspending or compromising your budget. Consider options like handmade items, baked goods, or creative crafts.

You can find inspiration for personalized gifts online to express your true feelings while staying financially stable. These thoughtful gestures can make your holidays memorable and meaningful without adding unnecessary financial pressure.
