The Importance of Training and Consistency

Boszhardt is quick to praise and credit his extensive training. “I trained in a Meisner conservatory for two years, but about fifteen months ago discovered The Method (as developed and taught by Lee Strasberg). Since then, I’ve been all in on Strasberg. When we shot Breed of Greed…I had not started studying Strasberg yet and while I’m proud of my performance, I do think it would have reached a whole other level of depth had I employed Strasberg’s technique. I used The Method for Resurrection this past fall and was able to reach a new stratosphere of emotion, intensity, and ease. I would not have been able to do what I did in that play without Lee Strasberg’s work. I am a complete convert.”

 

An early riser, Boszhardt shared that he’s usually up around 6 every morning and at his writing desk shortly after waking up. “Consistency is everything. I approach acting and writing with an athlete’s mentality…I do it every day.” 

And given how much Boszhardt has managed to pull off in a relatively short amount of time (he left his job in tech only six years ago)…one can clearly see the results of hard work, discipline, and passion.

Unlike traditional models prioritizing administrative spending, OSMD’s approach was rooted in the belief that “there’s plenty of finances in healthcare; it’s just not being utilized properly.” By eliminating unnecessary middle management and directing the funds toward medical staff and patient care, OSMD quickly transformed the hospital’s operations.

One significant change OSMD implemented was its physician staffing model. Traditionally, hospitals employ W2 doctors on fixed shifts, which limits flexibility and often leads to underutilization of staff. OSMD, however, relies on independent contractors, allowing the hospital to scale its physician workforce according to patient demand. This flexibility improved the hospital’s ability to handle fluctuations in patient volume and reduced burnout among physicians, leading to higher morale and better patient outcomes.

OSMD’s model also strongly emphasized proper documentation and billing, helping ensure that the hospital was reimbursed fairly for its services. Dr. Keates shares, “Since the 1970s, there hasn’t been a significant increase in the number of physicians being trained, but the number of healthcare administrators has ballooned by over 3,200%.” This growth in administrative positions has only served to bloat hospital budgets without really focusing on patient care.

By contrast, OSMD cuts out unnecessary third-party management companies and focuses on physicians and services that directly benefit patients. This improves patient outcomes while boosting the morale of the medical staff leading to better long-term retention of doctors and a more stable, sustainable hospital system.

Jean Shafiroff Hosts Holiday Soiree in Support of New York Women’s Foundation

On Monday, December 16th, philanthropist, author, advocate, TV host and fashion influencer Jean Shafiroff hosted a holiday celebration with her closest friends and family in support of the New York Women’s Foundation.

Among those enjoying hors d’oeuvres and sipping Aphrodise were Jean Shafiroff, NYS Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright, Consul General of Italy to NY Fabrizio Di Michele, Julia Haart, Katherine Boulud, Devika Gopal Agge, MaryAnne Grisz, Margarita Rosa, Marilyn Kirschner, Nadja Sayej, Liji Deng, Felicia Persaud, Sylvia Hemingway, Joseph Bartning, Edgar Batista, Maria and Ken Fishel, Silvia Freiser, Daniel Stock, Shannon Le Pre, Matt Rich, and fashion designers Malan Breton, Kokin, Ron Dyce, Nabys Vielman and Fern Clausius. Holiday piano music was played and featured by Dan Pardo. Later in the evening, guests enjoyed hearing tunes sung by Joseph Bartning, Malan Breton, Fern Clausius and Dan Pardo, who all sang individually.    

Jean spoke and thanked guests for celebrating the holiday season with her and showing their support for the New York Women’s Foundation. To honor the many fashion designers present, Jean Shafiroff wore four different outfits throughout the evening,
