Nidhi Sood Ruperee envisioned a bridge–not of steel or stone but of culture and commerce in the corner of a busy market in India. Alex’s journey took him to Wisconsin Dells in the United States, where he faced a new set of challenges. While still supporting his family in Ukraine, he worked tirelessly to save money to start his own business, holding three jobs, including cleaning tables, cooking, and working as a night cashier at McDonald’s. Despite feeling overwhelmed by long working hours, he moved to Chicago for a better opportunity to work as a pizza delivery driver, but this didn’t alleviate his struggle, as he continued to work at night, often sacrificing sleep.

A Change in Direction

Realizing he needed a change again, Alex became a CDL driver. Despite facing dangers due to poorly maintained trucks at the companies where he worked, and experiencing rough treatment, he pushed through and saw an opportunity in the transportation industry. He recognized the need for a company that valued its drivers and focused on safety and innovations.

DVL Express: A Vision Becomes Reality

In 2011, Alex founded Dovgal Express, Inc, also known as DVL Express Inc, to address these industry shortcomings. While still driving a truck, he worked tirelessly to grow the company. His dedication drew others to his vision, leading to rapid growth. By 2018, the company had over 200 trucks and a new terminal in Markham, IL. 

Alex’s attention to detail extended to creating a comfortable work environment for all employees. He provided a kitchen with healthy food, ergonomic chairs, a gym, and a meditation room, understanding the importance of a healthy work-life balance.
