He knows each project in detail, he visits his enterprises regularly, he makes plans only on the basis of achievements, and he does not like public exposure at all. So, who is Vadym Iermolaiev? Today, he is a famous businessman, investor, and the inspirer of many advanced and innovative enterprises. He is a chairman of the “Alef” corporation council. He is the founder of Alef Estate company, which created a number of famous facilities in Dnipro city. It’s no secret that Vadym Iermolaiev goes on “to burn with” Dnipro development. However, he sees the future of his company in the variety.

To be able to sell and invest

The name Vadym Iermolaiev became known in the business community in 1995. He established the “Primus inter pares” company at that time. Several years passed, and the enterprise grew to the commercial and industrial corporation “Alef,” which started to import products, washing agents, and a number of other goods to Ukraine.

The businessman will snatch an opportunity to make a good trade if it is possible. Vadym Iermolaiev, in cooperation with Turkish partners, opened the plant “Olviia-Beta” in the Dnipropetrovsk region in 1999. The enterprise manufactured household chemicals and personal supplies. This business was rather successful. However, after five years of development, Vadym Iermolaiev made a decision that became rather surprising for the business community. He sold the plant to his main competitor in this course, the company “Procter & Gamble Company.”

There is no way to take a break when you run a business. Business is a development, ideas, dialogue with the partners, sale, and last but not least, the investments. So, the money from the “Olviia-Beta” sale started to work in other directions. They were invested in ambitious projects: the plastic window profile plant “Miroplast,” the aerated concrete plant “UDK,” and the plant manufacturing the furniture for translucent structures “Axor” (that is only one in the Commonwealth of Independent States) were opened.

Development in various courses

Vadym Iermolaiev believes that the keystone to a successful business is development, and development provides for variety. So, the “Alef” corporation makes progress in various courses. In 2016, Vadym Iermolaiev launched a new company, “The Dnipro Gardens” (“Sady Dnipra”). The company started to export its products to EU, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries in as many as two years. After a while, the construction of Ukraine’s biggest refrigerator complex was started near Dnipro city. This complex has a capacity of almost 20 thousand. Tonnes of apples.

The intensive technologies and innovation became the underlying principles of the “Gardens of Ukraine” (“Sady Ukrainy”) company. The management team seeks advice from the Netherlandish company. The local company became one of the key advisors in the apple business development. The area of the gardens extends every year. The war did not interrupt the transplanting of innovative varieties, application of fertilizers, intensive cultivation, and drip watering. Trees trimming and shaping of tree crowns is another important aspect. And the “Gardens of Ukraine” (“Sady Ukrainy”) apply the special technology here.

The new plant “Potoky” was put into service in Dnipro city in 2019. It produces the sunflower, the unique high-protein oilseed meal, as well as purchases the sunflower seeds and cattle cake. The plant became a new job for hundreds of local residents, and thus, it is one of the largest enterprises making contributions to the budget. And in this case, Vadym Iermolaiev bets on the development and innovations. The “Potoky” invented the sunflower concentrate in cooperation with Ukrainian scientists. It became a must-have in animal feeding because it contains a large amount of protein and helps birds, cattle, rabbits, and fish to put on weight quickly. The concentrate fell under the symbolic name “Proglot” (“Eat-like”).

To build new and to save the unique architecture.

The businessman settled on commercial construction in 2001. The company of Vadym Iermolaiev, “Alef Estate,” became actively involved with this issue. In time, it changed the center of Dnipro city beyond recognition. The project of construction of the shopping and entertainment center “New Centre” (“Novyi Tsentr”) was illustrative of the seriousness of the developer’s intentions. However, it was only the first step. The shopping and entertainment center “Most-City” was built in Dnipro city in 2006. It was the largest center in Ukraine at that time. Moreover, the company implemented such projects as the Multi-purpose complex “Cascade Plaza,” the shopping and business complex “Bosphorus,” and business centers “Enigma” and “Pryzma” in Dnipro city.

The apartment complex “Port City” is now under construction on the bank of the Dnipro River. It has an unusual form of the liner, and it changes the concept of life in the city for the citizens.

The works on the creation of the unique project, Ermolaev Center, are in progress. This residential complex is located in the very heart of the city, and its residents will enjoy the fascinating sense of Katerynoslavskyi and Pivdennyi boulevards. These European streets have always become a credit to the city. It is a common fact that Vadym Iermolaiev was their investor and inspirer. Illumination, landscape design, parking areas, and attention to detail make each facility unique.

The company uses unique technologies and involves subject matter experts and knowers of ancient techniques during the construction. This allows not to wreck the historical buildings but to build them into modern urban landscapes. As a result, it became possible to save a small synagogue next to “Most-City” and to renovate the Katerynoslav Cloth Factory and an old house on 39 Shevchenko St. Although Vadym Iermolaiev is known as the main developer of Dnipro City, we can see that the construction is not the only business interest of the investor. He is an active distributor of agricultural equipment and a producer of medical appliances, agricultural products, etc.

Opening of new aspects of life instead of new enterprise

Vadym Iermolaiev is a private person. More likely, you can see him at the workshops of his enterprises instead of meeting with media people. He acts this way because he believes that his implemented projects indicate his achievements better. He declares in his rare interviews that business is a way of living for him. 

“It is hard to imagine my occupation if I wasn’t a businessman. For me, it is a way of learning the world. I open new aspects of life when I open an enterprise in some field that is new for me. It’s absolutely amazing how many things around are created by human hands and minds. I always wanted to understand the process of one or another thing manufacturing. And this enthusiasm often was the first step towards an entire plant launching”.
