Elena’s education, which spanned eight years, laid the foundation for her artistic journey. Her pursuit of fine arts led her to graduate from Aktau Art School in 2004, and later from KubSU Faculty of Art and Graphics in 2009. Here, she meticulously honed her craft, gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to embark on her professional journey. Her path to success, however, was not laid out in front of her. Like many young graduates, she found herself grappling with her first job – temple painting, followed by a design role at Mr. Doors. An Unforeseen Twist

Elena’s life took an unexpected turn during her maternal leave, as she found herself lost in a sea of market segments that seemed overwhelmingly occupied. It was in these uncertain times that she discovered the world of tattooing, a suggestion made by her husband’s friend. Little did she know, this would mark the beginning of her spectacular journey in the world of permanent makeup and tattooing.

Moving to St. Petersburg for further studies in 2011, Elena’s journey was just beginning. By 2012, she had expanded her reach to Rostov-on-Don and Moscow, eventually establishing nine affiliated branches throughout Russia by 2015. Her company became the only federal network of permanent makeup studios in the country, a testament to her relentless work ethic and innovative approach to art.

Her success story didn’t stop there. In 2016, Elena opened a network of permanent makeup schools that attracted artists from across the globe, primarily from the USA, Canada, and Australia. Recognizing the vast potential market in the West, she started planning the expansion of her branches into the USA in 2017.

Challenges, however, are a part of any successful journey, and Elena’s was no exception. In 2018, a setback hit when half of her network partners appropriated her ideas and technologies. Still, her resilience shone through, and the business continued with four loyal branches remaining in the network. The same year, she opened her own branch in Moscow, and in 2019, embarked on a new venture – the launch of her own production of tattoo pigments, NE PIGMENTS, in Krasnodar.

Many would have been devastated after being left by so many partners, but this is not the case with Elena, who soon focused on the next milestone. NE PIGMENTS was not a spontaneous idea but a result of Elena’s dedicated research and rigorous experiments, even on her own skin, to find the perfect pigments. The first sales of these pigments began in 2017, and the overwhelming demand and customer satisfaction became the stepping stone for the commencement of large-scale production from December 2019.

A survey conducted by the Economic Times on workplace harassment law awareness in India regarding compliance of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 had indicated that 97 percent of the organizations are not aware of the law and its implementation. That is scary for women who are passionate about making a mark in this world. With the help of TogetherThrive, Surabhi aims to address this concern and make this society much more socially empowered, and legally aware and provide a platform where we as people can be the biggest strengths of each other.

LUMINA Adhesives presents an improved alternative to traditional medical dressing adhesives after 15 years of research and development

LUMINA Adhesives has spent the last 15 years developing a light switchable adhesive for medical dressing applications that provides strong fixation while being easy to remove and causes no damage to the skin. 

The team at LUMINA has worked with physicians and medical professionals to refine the technology as well as the dressings using this adhesive to ensure they are safe and practical to use on patients. The LUMINA dressings are already on the market and are used in hospitals and medical centers. CEO of LUMINA, Magnus Blixt, says the technology solves two critical problems in the clinical setting.

The first problem is the removal of dressings from patients. This is an issue for the elderly and people with sensitive skin. They are known to be in the risk group for experiencing so-called MARSI (medical adhesive related skin injury). According to Blixt, these two categories of people often experience high levels of pain and bruising when traditional dressings are removed. 

The second problem LUMINA’s technology is solving is the assurance of good enough adhesion when a dressing is applied to a patient’s skin. If a dressing does not provide enough adhesion it can affect the therapy or treatment. Poor fixation may result in insufficient needle and tubing fixation or bacterial prevention for surgical wounds. This can cause further problems for a patient as well as cause additional cost for the health care provider.

 LUMINA solves these problems with an adhesive that has two modes. Initially the adhesive is applied with very strong adhesion to the skin. The adhesion can then be turned “off” to make the removal easy and skin-friendly. 

When a dressing using the innovative LUMINA adhesive is being removed it is first exposed to UVA light for a few seconds. The UVA light is provided in a hand-held flashlight. The light initiates a chemical reaction in the adhesive, changing its state and making it non-sticky. The dressing is then easy and pain free to remove and leaves no residue or bruising on the patient.

According to Blixt, the company has spent 15 years perfecting the technology. He says a good medical adhesive needs a combination of breathability and strength as well as comfort. The company spent a lot of time on optimizing all these parameters. In 2015, LUMINA began CE marking of the light switchable platform, and clinical studies were performed and published. In 2022 LUMINA released an improved version of the light switchable adhesive, and in 2023 the company’s first OEM agreement was entered for the use of the LUMINA technology in a customer product.

The team at LUMINA aims for the adhesive technology to be used worldwide so that no patient will need to suffer skin damage from dressings or unintentional movement of IV needles and medical tubing. Blixt says LUMINA can provide the medical dressing market with a unique and compelling solution to well-known and real problems. 

“Our mission is to prevent skin damage and pain when it comes to dressing removal and at the same time provide health care professionals with confidence in the fixation on patients’ skin,” says Blixt. “To enable the implementation of this solution as quickly as possible we are now seeking collaboration with other companies that design, manufacture, and sell medical dressings to hospitals and clinics.”

Tiffany: Thank you for having me! Throughout my journey, I have always been transparent about the mental health challenges and mindset barriers I encountered. Over the course of 12 years, I underwent therapy, during which I was diagnosed with various conditions, including Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Attack Disorder (PAD), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I had a big vision for what my life could look like and I refused to accept the notion that these diagnoses defined me or that relying on pharmaceuticals was the only path to functioning. Instead, I delved into understanding the intricacies of the brain and the remarkable power of the subconscious mind.

In my quest to not just cope but thrive and become the best version of myself, I fortuitously stumbled upon coaching. It was through coaching that I not only released repressed emotions but also rewired my brain to optimize my physical health, soul health, and wealth. I discovered what felt like a secret formula for success—a cheat code, if you will.

You see, most individuals encounter limiting behaviors, thoughts, and emotions on their journeys. Challenges such as distraction, negative self-talk, procrastination, perfectionism, self-doubt, lack of confidence, and imposter syndrome often plague them. The difficulty lies in lacking the neuro-psychological tools necessary to release and overcome these obstacles, leading to coping mechanisms that bear consequences.

Early on, I recognized that if I could pinpoint my areas of resistance, I could seek the guidance of a coach to help me swiftly break through those barriers in just a session or two, instead of passively waiting for them to dissipate on their own. This approach propelled me on a fast-track to success because, in the realm of business, the fear of public speaking, self-expression, and being seen had been my major stumbling block. Today, I proudly stand as a professional speaker who fearlessly shares my message on a daily basis through various social media platforms.

Interviewer: That’s powerful, thank you for your vulnerability in sharing that. Speaking of your coaching, what are some of your philosophies as a business coach?

Tiffany: As a coach, I have 5 core philosophies:

1 – Continuous Self-Improvement: I firmly believe that success is an ongoing journey of personal growth and development. It entails constantly striving to become the best version of oneself, attracting a high level of success internally and externally. Recognizing that success is an inside job, I guide my clients in cultivating their inner qualities to unlock their full potential.

2 – Personal Growth Drives Business Growth: I emphasize that the growth of one’s business is intricately linked to their personal growth. The limits one sets for themselves directly impact their business’s potential. Therefore, I place great emphasis on developing conscious leadership skills and fostering a mindset that allows for expansive growth and breakthroughs.

3 – Leveraging Technology and Efficiency: In today’s digital age, the traditional notion of working long, exhausting hours is obsolete. With the advent of technology, systems, and effective team collaboration, entrepreneurs can create schedules that support their desired lifestyle. I empower my clients to leverage these tools to maximize their productivity and achieve a balance that nurtures their happiness, health, social life, family, and relationships.

4- Motivation and Abundance: I believe that true motivation stems from earning an abundant income. While money alone may not be the sole driving force, a lack of financial abundance can demotivate individuals. 5 – Effective Time Management: Time is our most precious resource, and if you don’t manage it, you’re sure to waste it. Having a history of mental health challenges in my past, I am hyper-sensitive to the importance of living a sustainable lifestyle that supports longevity in leadership without sacrificing growth potential. Tiffany: My dream life is a blend of personal fulfillment, professional success, and meaningful connections. It involves having the freedom to work remotely and travel, spending quality time with loved ones, and making a positive impact through my coaching. I get to wake up every morning to the Miami skyline view over the bay and start my day feeling excited, aligned and fulfilled. Tiffany: My best advice would be to never underestimate the power of taking action to attack + rework the subconscious wiring in your brain.
