In his career, he has worked across the globe with NBA Players all the way down to youth players in various communities globally. With exposure training in learning in other countries like China, Russia, & Australia DJ has been able to identify how far behind America is in the approach of basketball training for players at all levels. DJ went on to say “The Majority of Basketball at the youth level in the United States is being taught by Volunteer Coaches or Parents, but overseas, most coaches have certifications and are actually on salary positions to coach their teams”.

What Inspired Sackmann To Create HoopStudy?

DJ went on to say on why he created HoopStudy stating that: “We as an organization recognized the issue that most coaches across the world have and that is that most are volunteers & don’t come from a high level of basketball background. With HoopStudy, coaches and even players can now have access to the right information and training to learn the game of basketball through our E-Learning platform from the top professionals.” So far we have been able to create the world’s largest online basketball educational database. We hope to continue to grow this program in the future and push the envelope further with new and exciting content every couple of months to people inside the program.

Future Of HoopStudy & DJ Sackmann’s Mission

DJ looks to continue to spread awareness of HoopStudy to programs across the country particularly at the youth level. In hopes of doing so, DJ is optimistic to see athletes develop out of programs across the country helping players develop into the talent they already have, giving them more opportunities at the next level to potentially make a career out of basketball at the collegiate and professional level.

Paris Based Plastic Surgeon, Dr Mohamed Derder Opens Up About The Clients He Meets

Dr Mohamed Derder is a famous plastic surgeon working in European Georges Pompidou Hospital and also doing private practice in Paris. Born in Algeria, 42 years old Mohamed has qualified high competitive exams, has obtained 8 higher education Diplomas during his training to gain the skills required to be a quality aesthetic surgeon. If that was not enough, he also travelled to the US several times in order to improve his skills in cosmetic surgery.

Back in 2003, when he came to France, he was just 23 years old general medicine graduate who was trying to find out about the surgical speciality he needs to do. Mohamed opted to become a plastic surgeon following the suggestion of his cousin who was also working in the same profession in Switzerland. And now he is helping all kinds of clients in reforming their looks.

To reach this point in life, Mohamed Derder has done a lot of hard work and sacrifices. He prepared for two and a half years for a very selective competition in which only one out of twenty candidates was admitted. “These were the most difficult years of my life,” he says and adds, “Between being alone without my family, the difficulties of accommodation and the obligation to stay focused on my exams, I really sacrificed years to work non-stop to achieve my objective.”

But now he finds his struggle worth it and loves his job. “I love my job, it’s a very fashionable job, which is changing day by day and patients are more and more demanding, they like to feel beautiful, have self-confidence.”

Talking about the clients he gets, Mohamed says, “The clients who come to see me are very varied, it can be the elderly woman who wants to rejuvenate and regain her face when she was younger or the patient who after childbirth wants to regain her figure before her pregnancies. Or a young patient who wants to modify part of her body to make it more feminine or more attractive or sometimes the desire to look like her idol (a star for example).”

He also talks about how social media filters have increased the demand. “Snapchat filters, for example, encourage patients to consult to look like the result they see thanks to the filter,” says Mohamed Derder. Talking about his male clients, he says, “Men also consult, the requests are varied from rejuvenation to the desire to have a more athletic body, the demand from men is clearly increasing. In my daily practice, I currently do a lot more cosmetic surgery than reconstructive surgery (such as surgery after cancer or reconstructions to treat the sequelae of burns) The cosmetic surgery that I practice is often facial interventions such as rhinoplasty, I also do facial rejuvenation. For silhouette surgery, I do a lot of liposuction, lipofilling, breast augmentation.”

Maxine L. Johnson: Teaching Women to Harmonize Relationships

Maxine L. Johnson is an author, life coach, speaker, wife and mother helping women obtain clarity, confidence and influence as they’re taking their lives to the next level. With the demanding schedule of work and home life while navigating relationships with colleagues, friends and family, Maxine emphasizes the importance of self-care; for women to carve out special time for themselves. Whether it be taking a bubble bath, doing a workout, taking a nap or getting your nails done. If you take those moments for yourself, you feel rejuvenated. She is showing women that their influence is a key element to building harmonious relationships.

Me First- understanding my needs

When Maxine L. Johnson talks about me first, she’s referring to self-care. The importance of taking care of yourself first and understanding what your individual needs are aside from your home and work life. In addition, Maxine also discusses the double standard of women, specifically mothers being mom-shamed for taking time for themselves. It’s always perceived as being selfish and self-centered instead of caring for their child.

She describes, “What happens is we tend to pour from an empty cup because we’re so busy pouring out to everyone else. As female leaders, you’re making sure your business is succeeding, making sure your family is okay as well as your siblings and parents”. Maxine further explains with all of that pouring you become empty. Not only do you become empty and pour from that empty cup, the cup becomes dirty because you never cleaned it or refilled it which eventually leaves a residue. You try to pour from that cup, but it becomes toxic which leads to resentment of what you’re doing and who you’re serving. With resentment, comes frustration then comes anger of feeling others under appreciate you. That deep-seated anguish is the result of not taking the time to take care of yourself.

Being Vulnerable is Powerful

It’s important to be truthful to yourself. When you can be honest with yourself and admit to certain things such as what hurts us, what harms us, our likes and dislikes you can operate in your power. What you didn’t do, what you learned and what you can improve on. Maxine encourages women to be open with their feelings to create better relationships at home. For instance, being vulnerable with your children. Letting them know that parents are human, they make mistakes and it’s learning about trial and error as they go. As her sons got older, Maxine would tell them that she didn’t know everything, but she knew the best she could based on what she knew at the time.

Changing the Atmosphere

Maxine talks about “protecting your peace” to not change a person, but you can change yourself to influence change and the atmosphere around you. Here’s a scenario if you’re in a great mood, had a great day at work and your spouse, colleague, friend or family member is in a terrible mood. You don’t want to be brought down by their negativity because if you’re surrounded by negative energy, you become the negative energy. That’s why you have to protect your peace, your state of mind; it gives you the ability to change your surroundings.
