Spectrum Aesthetics Surgeon Bust Six Myths About Cosmetic Surgery

Spectrum aesthetic is a Miami-based state-of-the-art surgery center. It provides a range of cosmetic surgery for the Body, Breasts, and Face. It is famous for delivering incredible results for its patients at an affordable rate. The center houses six of the most experienced cosmetic surgeons from the states. Collectively the surgeons hold 125+ years of experience.

We had a chat with a Spectrum aesthetics surgeon and asked him about the myths of cosmetic surgery.

Myth 1 – The Term Plastic Surgery And Cosmetic Surgery Are Interchangeable

No, they are not. Both the practices are very closely related but are not the same. Cosmetic surgery aesthetically enhances and beautifies a person, while plastic surgery helps to heal a person. Cosmetic surgery would involve procedures like liposuction, breast augmentation, facelift, while plastic surgery involves procedures like burn repair surgery, breast reconstruction, etc.

Myth 2 – Cosmetic Surgery Is Only For Women

No, all genders can avail the benefits of cosmetic surgery. Even Men get cosmetic surgery like Rhinoplasty, thread lift, facelift, liposuction, tummy tucker, Gynecomastia, etc. As per the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ annual report, more than 1.3 million men in the United States went under the knife (or needle) in 2018.

Myth 3 – There Is An Age Restriction For Rhinoplasty

Yes. Patients below the age of fifteen are discouraged from taking Rhinoplasty. Doctors advise patients to undergo the procedure only when they are past their growing age. Human bodies tend to evolve as they grow, so a nose job might or might not look good once the patient is fully developed. So it is discouraged.

Myth 4 – Breast Implants Can Melt

They certainly can, but not in the human body. Breast implants generally are made of silicone gel or saline. They both have the covering of silicone, and their high burning point is 392 degrees Fahrenheit. A human cannot take heat above 180 degrees Fahrenheit. It is unlikely that a human will put himself in such a situation. Hence, the melting of implants poses no danger to humans.

Myth 5 – Cosmetic Surgeries Are Not Reversible

True. Cosmetic surgery that is invasive in nature cannot be reversed. They can be retouched and redone but reversing them is rarely possible. However, the effects of non-invasive surgery like botox can be reversed by removing the liquid from the face.

Myth 6 – Botox Freezes The Muscle Of The Face

True. Botox does freeze the muscle of the face. Botox helps to fine-tune the wrinkles in and around the face. It also helps in delaying the process of aging. However, some patients tend to get overboard with botox and get too much liquid filled in. Overfilling of botox makes them look expressionless.

BonezRoger Alorde on Pursuing Dreams Amidst Life’s Detours

Beyond the music, artists always have a message to share with the world, whether it’s a tale of perseverance, affluence, or any anthem they hope to raise through their art. For rapper and songwriter BonezRoger Alorde, that message is clear—one must not let their detours derail them from their biggest dreams.

Roger, a.k.a. BonezRoger Alorde, is a hip-hop artist with a talent that has put him on the general masses’ radar for some time now. His music is electric, and his presence is dominant. But behind the rhythms, rhymes, and good times is a story of perseverance and a reminder that no one is smaller than their past if they allow themselves to move past their failures and bad decisions.

No one understands that quite like BonezRoger. The artist has gone through the fiercest of trials throughout his life. At a young age, he escaped his hometown of Port-au-Prince in Haiti after a threat to his life sent him overseas. He witnessed the murder of his father, Guaryl Roger, when his senior was only thirty-three years old. After his father’s murderer chased after him and tried to take his life as well, his family knew that their only chance of survival was to get out.

Roger’s mother and the family would move to the United States and landed in Miami, Florida, back in 2002. A new life awaited them, but a few more wrong turns would cause more detours in BonezRoger’s life. He would end up on the streets working for a crime syndicate and getting into all kinds of illegal activities before he became legally independent. That would land him in juvenile prison for a year early on.

Through the waves and turmoil, one thing that remained constant for BonezRoger Alorde was music. He started rapping at the age of eleven and treated hip-hop as his therapy. Through the changing times, music became a solace, as he would also influence others through music. Times would remain hard as he lost a college athletic scholarship to a standing case and trial that almost got him deported. But Roger decided that it was time for a change, and he wanted to pursue music full-time.

Since school was such a burden for BonezRoger Alorde, he turned instead to his networking abilities to get ahead. He started building connections with other musicians and music executives. Soon, he would be brushing shoulders with  Grammy-winning producer Kevin Carbo, who has worked with Universal, Justin Bieber, Dababy, and others. In November 2019, the two penned an agreement, and Carbo helped Alorde launch a career in rap.

Today, BonezRoger Alorde’s songs propagate through social channels and streaming platforms. Some of his hard-hitting tracks include “Won’t Give Up My Soul,” “Go All The Way,” “Dark Side,” “Who’s Really Bad,” “INVIDIOUS,” “Die In Your Z,” “Things You Do,” “Make Em Choose,” and many more.

Despite fighting for his life and freedom and making some wrong turns along the way, BonezRoger Alorde stands high and mighty and is out to prove that anyone can rise above the hardships and design a better life for themselves.

Nicolas Srut: Redefining Beauty Through Social Media

For so long, people have been conditioned to believe that beauty is everything. Society has put such great importance on perfection that the slightest flaw and blemish are considered to bring a person great shame. For the longest time, Nicolas Srut also felt compelled to conform and comply with these unrealistic standards until he learned the value of self-love.

The young social media influencer has an autoimmune condition called alopecia, which caused him to lose all his hair at the tender age of seven. Because of this, he was constantly teased and mocked by kids in school calling him names like “alien” and “cancer head.” He even suffered physical abuse when one kid nearly broke his hand simply because he was bald. These incidents have severely affected the boy’s confidence and self esteem.

For years, all his self-worth hinged on what other people think about him. For several years, he resorted to wearing a wig just to feel some semblance of a normal life.  However, after bending over backwards just to fit in, he still felt self-conscious and unhappy. Only then did he realize that he should stop living for others and start putting himself first.

Learning to let go of the burden brought by society’s unrealistic beauty standards, he finally made the conscious decision to take off his wig and embrace his true self. Looking back, the young man felt that it was the greatest decision he made for himself and it boosted his confidence like no other.

Many years later, when TikTok started gaining popularity, he saw an opportunity to utilize the social media platform  to share his story and inspire others. Using an unconventional approach of making jokes and sharing funny stories about his Alopecia, he was able to capture the interest and appreciation of a wide audience.

His goal was to highlight and showcase that everyone is beautiful, not despite, but because of their differences; he wants his audience to revel in the strength brought by diversity. This endeavor proved to be highly worthwhile as more and more people resonated with his message of hope and positivity. Within a span of one year, his TikTok account gained more than 5.3 million followers.

Following the immense success of his social media accounts, he decided to create his own organization The Naked Confidence Campaign. It is a program for mentoring individuals with the same autoimmune condition as Nicolas Srut. It focuses on helping people with alopecia embrace who they truly are, to ditch their wigs and their fake eyebrows. Most importantly, it aims to restore their self-worth by helping them realize the insignificance of aesthetics and external beauty, in the grander scheme of things. Currently, it helps over 500 people across the globe through weekly Zoom meetings.

In 2022, The Naked Confidence Campaign is slated to travel to schools, colleges, and many other venues all around the world to  teach people about the importance of confidence and self-love. It aims to bring more people on board and spread its message that weaknesses don’t define a person’s worth and turning them into strengths is the key to achieve the best version of themselves.
