On most mornings before seeing her patients, Nurse Practitioner and Injector Devin Mazzara does what many people do. She checks the news. Lately, the headlines have been difficult to move past.
When the world feels heavy, continuing to post about aesthetics can feel disconnected from reality. Mazzara is aware of that tension, describing a kind of cognitive dissonance in reconciling everyday life with the weight of what is happening nationally and globally. Rather than ignoring it, she has become intentional about how she shows up, continuing her work while remaining aware, engaged, and grounded in what is real.
That same clarity carries into her work. As the founder of Face by Devin, Mazzara has built a reputation in New York City for her refined aesthetic and highly detailed approach to facial balance. With nearly a decade in medical aesthetics and a background spanning the operating room to director roles in private practice plastic surgery, her path into injecting was not accidental, but deliberate. She approaches aesthetics as a medical professional first and an artist second, prioritizing safety, structure, and long-term outcomes over trends or immediate gratification.
Mazzara entered the aesthetics space after realizing that traditional hospital environments were not aligned with the level of care she believed patients deserved. The structure often required prioritizing speed and volume over safety and attention to detail, something she was unwilling to accept. Private practice offered more control, but still came with limitations that ultimately pushed her to create something of her own.

She began focusing on injecting in 2018, and by 2019 was actively building her own patient base, laying the foundation for what would become Face by Devin.
Building her practice in New York City, one of the most competitive markets in the world, required more than patience. It required relentless effort. It took over two years to consistently fill her schedule, and even now, growth is something she approaches carefully, balancing demand with the level of care she prides herself on.
“I care far more about what’s best for my patients than I care about making money,” she says. “Sometimes that means telling someone not to do something.”
That philosophy defines her work. Mazzara is known for her consistency, precision, and honesty, focusing on details that others might overlook and guiding patients toward decisions they will feel confident about long term. Her goal is not alteration for the sake of it, but preservation and enhancement, prioritizing optimization over transformation.
At the same time, the relationships she builds with her patients extend far beyond their appointments. Over the years, her practice has evolved into something closer to a network. She has connected patients to new careers, friendships, relationships, apartments, and opportunities, while many of them have done the same for her.
“It often ends up being a multifaceted relationship,” she says. “That’s probably one of the most unique parts of what I do.”
That sense of connection reflects the nature of New York itself, a city where networks make all the difference, and trust carries weight.

Within the aesthetics community, Mazzara is well regarded among her peers. In a city filled with top-tier talent, the trust her colleagues and patients place in her is something she does not take lightly.
She has also been deliberate in how she shows up publicly. For Mazzara, authenticity operates on two levels. Clinically, it means working within treatments that are proven, safe, and aligned with long-term integrity. Publicly, it means using her voice with intention rather than defaulting to neutrality.

Looking ahead, she sees her work expanding beyond New York, with plans to inject in other cities and continue growing a brand that reflects more than just aesthetics. For Mazzara, the goal has always been to build a life that feels fully aligned, one that allows her to do work she believes in while remaining open to new opportunities as they arise.
For her, authenticity is not a trend. It is a standard, both in the way she practices and in the way she moves through the world.
