Warriors tie the series after big lead in Game 2 of NBA Finals

After a setback in Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors have evened the odds after finishing the match with a 107-88 score. The Warriors and Celtics are now tied 1 to 1 in a Best of 7 series.

The Boston Celtics surprised fans after they reversed the lead of GSW in Game 1. However, this only motivated the Warriors to do well in the next game – and they did.

Stephen Curry fired shots after shots against the Celtics, ending the game with 29 points. Curry made five threes out of 12 attempts. Meanwhile, Celtics’ Jayson Tatum almost came at par with Curry at 28 points and six rebounds.

Warriors’ head coach expressed his amusement in Curry’s performance during the game, particularly in the 3rd quarter, where the Warriors made 35 points while Boston only had 14.

“Steph was breathtaking in that third quarter,” Kerr said to reporters after the game. “Not just the shot-making but the defensive effort. He just doesn’t get enough credit for his level of conditioning, physicality and defense.

“People go at him to try to wear him down because they know how important he is to us offensively. And it is pretty dramatic, the difference in Steph’s strength and physicality between now and when I first got here eight years ago.

“The guy is amazing; he just keeps working.”

Chase Center was on full battle mode as Golden State fans rallied in support of the Warriors after the upset loss in Game 1.

The first half of the game finished with the Warriors on the lead, 52-50.

However, in the third quarter, the crowd went wild after the explosive performance from the Warriors. The momentum was what they needed to widen the lead to 23.

The win marked the 18th Finals win of the career of trio Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. The three were vital to the game.

The Celtics, meanwhile, were aghast with their performance. Whether in the offense or defense, the Celtics could not turn the tide in their favor – losing the ball 19 times in the game.

In an interview, Ime Udoka, Celtics head coach, said, “For us, that was a little disappointing.”

“That’s kind of been a constant theme in the playoffs. When that happens, we’re in trouble.”

Game 3 will be in Boston this Wednesday.
