Sharon Carter Sheds Light on Her Transition From Entrepreneur to Published Author

Most people believe that talent can be discovered early, but late bloomers can often find the pace to catch up. Sharon Carter is an example of how one can discover their passion in their teen years and become proactive in their adult life. Although she and her husband are currently running an HVAC company as entrepreneurs, Sharon has decided to utilize her gift for writing to actively pursue a new career as an author.

Sharon Carter’s interest in writing started in Junior High, and as she grew older, the passion developed into a passion. Growing up, she was never one to surround herself with friends and instead enjoyed her solitude. However, despite mostly keeping to herself, Sharon was never lonely, using her imagination to fill the pages and the void.

Although her talent was evident, Sharon never actively pursued a writing career. Instead, she pursued an entrepreneurial career with her husband, starting an HVAC company that has been in the business for over two decades. “We both love being entrepreneurs,” she said. “It can be tough sometimes running your own business, but through the grace of God, we get through it.”

Despite a busy career running a company and being a mother and grandmother, Sharon never stopped writing. Whenever she has the time, she whips out a pen and paper to jot down the fleeting stories in her head. Sharon’s husband and mother watched her carry her passion through the years, and it was their encouragement that inspired her to have a try at writing professionally. By 2020, Sharon was able to finally take the first step towards her dream.

The book Love Auction: Too Risky to Love Again was released on February 3 and addresses dysfunctionality, death, healing in the family, and finding love. The plot revolves around three main characters: Sage, Nick, and a young girl Sage adopts.

After her husband’s accidental death, Sage withdraws her heart in protective armor while Nick falls into a loveless cycle of casual relationships after catching his wife in an affair. The two characters meet each other in a fundraiser, and Nick immediately falls for Sage. But the widow, still devastated from losing her greatest love, refuses the benefactor despite her attraction. Nick finds an opportunity to sweep her off her feet when Sage agrees to be auctioned off for a date to raise funds for a local organization. As the story progresses, Sage accepts a foster child into her life who witnessed her mother’s murder. The killer sets his eyes on Sage, determined to make her his.

As an author, Sharon wants to provide readers with pleasure and enjoyment while reflecting the reality of life into her works. “My book touches on issues people have faced in their lives,” she said. “Not all my characters end up happily ever after, but the main characters do.” Sharon has also shared that she has disguised herself as a character, but she hasn’t revealed which one. She also added, “I sometimes use people I come in contact with to add to a character.”

After publishing her first book, Sharon Carter has become more optimistic about a career as an author. “I want to write supernatural stories, children’s books, and later on self-healing books, discussing what I did to overcome obstacles in my life,” she said. Sharon also hopes her first cheerleader, her mother, will be able to watch her career grow after contracting COVID-19 and recovering. “I want my mother to see me grow as a writer and continue to shine my light so the world can see.”

Sharon Carter’s book, Love Auction: Too Risky to Love Again, is available on Amazon.
