Empowering Lives Through Physical Change with Dr. David J. Pincus of Pincus Plastic Surgery

According to Webster’s Dictionary, the word empower means to give moral or physical power, facilities or abilities to. Some may argue that empowerment and cosmetic surgery don’t coincide with each other. On the other hand, others may say when someone is going through a cosmetic procedure their confidence builds from the outside within. Cosmetic surgery not only changes a person’s outward appearance, but can alter their mentality into a positive perspective. Dr. David J. Pincus of Pincus Plastic Surgery encourages his patients to live by this motto empowering yourself through physical change.

Dr. Pincus is one of the most sought out plastic surgeons in New York specializing in breast and body procedures including breast augmentation and revision, breast reduction, tummy tuck, liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift and facial surgery. Located in Smithtown, NY, Pincus Plastic Surgery uses the latest technology in the cosmetic field such as Fractora, an advanced fractional radio-frequency skin treatment for anti-aging and Crisalixart, an imaging system where patients can see 3D images of what they will look like after surgery. With 18 years of training in Miami, Boston and Paris, Dr. Pincus focuses on individualized patient care in making sure he is there for his patients every step of their journey. “I love the value I add to a patient’s life with my practice,” Dr. Pincus said. “I strive to help each one of my patients to achieve their hopes and expectations. I want to help my patients regain their confidence and self-respect that they deserve.”

Dr. Pincus grew up in Long Island, NY. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and got his medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine. It was at medical school that Dr. Pincus witnessed how cosmetic surgeons were able to transform people not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. He said, “Their work really empowered their patients and the physical alterations to their bodies could actually alter their emotions and behavior in a positive way.  It really amazed me and I wanted to help my patients in the same way.”

After graduating medical school, Dr. Pincus completed his general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Maine Medical Center, and Emerson Hospital in Massachusetts. He finished his plastic surgery residency at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA and returned to Long Island to start his career as a plastic surgeon.

Dr. Pincus says he’s very selective in regarding the patients he treats because he wants to be sure that every procedure is safe, effective and the right choice for each patient. There are certain patients that he may not treat or perform surgery on because they are not healthy enough or physically or emotionally prepared for the alteration to their body. Through his practice, Dr. Pincus loves helping breast cancer survivors, weight loss patients and breast reduction patients is something he feels very passionate about because he’s able to positively impact his patients by altering their bodies in ways that makes them feel empowered.

Within the next 1-5 years, Dr. Pincus says he’s looking to expand his practice to New York City and Boca Raton.
