The Sleepy Owl Company Helps Authors Bring Their Stories to Life

Many aspiring authors have gone through all sorts of troubles to get published. Big publishing companies are extremely strict with their standards, leaving newcomers jumping from one publishing house to another to find one that would be willing to rely on their creative output. Even world-famous author J.K. Rowling herself was turned down repeatedly before she had her break with the Harry Potter series. The Sleepy Owl Company, an online publishing company, is about to change this reality by providing authors and content creators the much-needed tools they need to bring their stories to life.

“It is an uncomplicated process that allows the author of that specified book to select parts of the book that he or she wants to be shown in a video or movie format, choose their setting, cast their characters, and begin creating by using the video recording capabilities on a smartphone or any other digital recording device. The evolution of how stories are told and experienced will be pioneered by the content creators who utilize this platform offered by The Sleepy Owl Company,” said founder Mekal Smith.

The publishing company has joined the AWS Startup Loft, an environment provided to start-up companies and entrepreneurs by Amazon Web Services. This opportunity enables The Sleepy Owl Company to utilize the services within the AWS, innovating the DreamCapCha platform further. By offering the DreamCapCha platform to reading enthusiasts and promising storytellers, the publishing company democratizes publishing by providing support to minority authors, which will allow them to monetize their creations and increase streams of income.

DreamCapCha is the debut product of The Sleepy Owl Company. “It is a platform that allows authors and content creators to draft stories, poems, and share art by allowing the author to deliver an immersive experience to his or her readers by embedding digital media to the specific words, paragraphs, or phrases of the story. That process is called a D.R.E.A.M, an acronym I made up which stands for Digital Recordings of Enjoyable Acquired Moments,” Smith revealed.

Smith was inspired to develop The Sleepy Owl Company after the passing of his best friend, who loved writing short stories and manuscripts. His late friend was a gifted writer who had rare creativity, making Smith wish he could see a visual representation of what he wrote. After his best friend’s death, Smith tried to draft a story about him but was often struggling with time to make the story take shape. It was then that he produced the bright idea to create The Sleepy Owl Company.

“The Sleepy Owl Company is here to transform the art of storytelling and how the world experiences stories. I want the hardworking self-publishing author to feel that the Sleepy Owl Company are extending an olive branch to help alleviate challenges of the publishing process,” Smith explained. “Most importantly, I want the reader to know that the Sleepy Owl Company is igniting the world’s creativity and opening up the world to experience each other’s imagination.”
