Disney World’s much-anticipated 100-room “Star Wars” Galactic Starcruiser hotel still shows vacancies weeks after its launch, Disney’s availability calendar shows.

Guests can choose their “voyage” dates on the “start planning your voyage” page on the official website. The hotel will begin accepting guests in the second half of 2022, but there are still vacancies for almost every day in August, September, October, November, and December. There are also voyages available in June and July, including some weekends.

The availability details were last updated on Saturday, 11:16 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Marketed as an immersive Star Wars experience, the hotel opened on March 1. The terms and conditions require guests to book a two-night stay for the starting price of $5,000 for two adults and nearly $6,000 for three adults and one child. This price already includes admission to Hollywood Studios to visit the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge on the second day.

While reviews are generally positive, most reviewers noted that people who aren’t willing to experience the storyline wouldn’t find the hotel worth booking, as it was designed to replicate a galactic cruise liner called the Halcyon. The lodgings are small, and the rooms have small windows looking out onto a screen displaying outer space, often described by reviewers as a “windowless bunker” and “suburban junior high school built in the mid-1970s.” It also does not have the usual amenities of a $5,000 hotel, such as a pool and spa.

However, there has been effusive praise for the cast wandering the hotel, including Rey, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and cruise ship workers who encourage guests to fight for the resistance and challenge them to secret missions. Reviewers agree that the extravagant cost is for the experience, not the hotel itself.

Guests looking to book the Galactic Starcruiser must call 407-939-1800.
