Rap artist Brandon Haymaker released his new album Survival on the 4th of July this year. The album is Brandon’s best work to date, and it has already captured hip-hop fans all around the world. Survival has producing credits by CashMoneyAP, whom Brandon has been working with for his past projects. Brandon’s unique style as a rapper is apparent throughout the album and pulls the attention of rap enthusiasts from all age groups.
Survival is a must-hear for long-time rap aficionados and is the perfect jump-off point for new fans. Although it hasn’t been very long since the release of Survival, Brandon already gathered a more massive fanbase that consistently anticipates new music from him. The artist made headlines with his catchy grooves and rhythms that had the music industry hooked to his craft.
The artist went as AyoB and Brandon Hay before he finally used the stage name Brandon Haymaker. He is an American recording artist, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and a US Army veteran.
Brandon always had a passion for music at an early age. His love for music ranges from hip-hop to hardcore metal. Brandon would often be heard freestyling in front of his fellow students on campus, and this also made him the life of the parties he went to.
Brandon joined the US Army after he graduated from high school. During his service, he completed basic and AIT training and received his first deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. The experience opened Brandon’s perspective of different cultures and made him a better artist. Brandon always kept music in the back of his mind. When he returned from his assignment abroad in 2012, Brandon decided to pursue a full-time career in music.
The rapper moved back to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, and started releasing singles, music videos, and mixtapes. He explored ways on how to gain fans by performing on local shows and talent shows. Brandon also enrolled in CRAS and graduated as the top of his class after eight months.
But Brandon envisioned something more significant for himself and his career. In 2015, he took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began working with famous recording studios and built a strong network with relevant people throughout Hollywood and Burbank. Brandon saw a significant improvement in his music after living the studio life, being consistent in releasing music, performing in shows, and always staying on top of his game.
In 2018, his hard work finally paid off upon the release of his freshman studio album called #ditUSA,mia (Designed in the USA, Made in Afghanistan). The album talks about the rapper’s growth and journey of getting out of the army to become a recording artist. It gained over fifty thousand streams. #ditUSA,mia also has producing credits by CashMoneyAP, the same brilliant mind behind the single “ART-ist” off his current album, Survival.
Brandon has built a reputation for rocking well-known outlets like SXSW. He has also performed as opening acts for high-profile acts including Lil Flip, Lil Keke, and Minus Gravity. Brandon has helped produce music for some of the biggest names in the rap landscape today.
The rapper takes pride in tackling issues that not many artists talk about in their music. Although many rappers are also army veterans, Brandon is shedding light on his own experiences that are unique from others.
“I knew that by putting God first, there is nothing a person can’t accomplish. I am not someone who is ever sitting down. I always have a goal in mind and am working toward it,” Brandon said. With his unwavering faith, world-class talent, and unparalleled work ethic, Brandon Haymaker is ready to take on the global stage and become the next rap icon.
