American actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is sounding off in support of Joe Rogan, who has been criticized for alleged dissemination of COVID-19 misinformation on his widely known Spotify podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Johnson, who earlier has poked fun and discredited a reputed run for president, spoke out in the comment section of Rogan’s Instagram on Monday. It is a video uploaded where the podcaster promised to “do better” in his approach to talk about the coronavirus.

“Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated,” commented Johnson on Rogan’s post. “Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

Johnson, 49, and Rogan, 54, are among the most influential personalities in the country’s entertainment industry, so if they decided to team up it would be an intimidating alliance. Johnson possesses over 200 million Instagram followers; on the other hand, Rogan has over 11 million listeners of his podcast.

Johnson’s public display of support for Rogan sparked opinions from fans that both would team up and run for the White House jointly. One fan even tweeted, “The Rock for President, Rogan for Vice President.”

Earlier, it has been claimed that Johnson could “unite” a divided America, and he and Rogan could establish themselves as political Independents. But their current political standing says otherwise. In 2020, Johnson publicly showed support for Biden, while Rogan chose the Libertarian candidate.

Before the 2020 election, Rogan said of Biden, “Biden, to me, is like having a flashlight with a dying battery and going for a long hike in the woods, it is not going to work out. It’s not going to make it.”

In latest happenings, people have claimed Rogan to be spreading COVID-19 misinformation on his Spotify platform, with musicians Neil Young and Joni Mitchell pulling out their music from the streaming platform.

The rock legends state that they do not desire to be affiliated with Rogan, who has often grilled the COVID-19 vaccine efficacy on his program. He has also had vaccine skeptics on his show.

Spotify has reportedly paid Rogan over $100 million for exclusive rights to his podcast.
