Rising DJ and Event Promoter DJ Naim Takes Newark, New Jersey’s Nightlife to Newer Heights

Nightlife aficionado and top disc jockey DJ Naim is determined to put the underrated city of Newark, New Jersey, on the map while bringing its nightlife experience to the next level. Coming from a place considered to be an underdog in some aspects, he was inspired to bring his beautiful city into the limelight.

DJ Naim first spun records at only ten years old. His love for the record-spinning experience led to daily practices, which helped him develop his skills. He quickly became his town’s go-to DJ, and soon, he was appearing for local parties in his area and family barbecue gatherings. He then moved toward guest appearances in Club Eclipse at only 14 years old, spinning records for teenage parties. This was how he started building his brand in the disc jockey arena.

His passion for the music industry is undeniable. His innate gift of incredible aural skills helps him connect with the crowd effortlessly no matter what their age. DJ Naim’s music choice has proven to be impressionable as well. With the right beats and the perfect manipulation of the rhythm and booming bass, his mixes always leave the crowd wanting more.

In 2006, he began his role as a resident DJ at a local nightclub. Eventually, he started appearing in all local nightclubs around New Jersey, opening and closing for other well-known DJs such as DJ Funk Flex, DJ Mister Cee, and DJ Bobby Trends. In 2010, Funkmaster Flex’s DJ crew, Big Dawg Pitbulls of Hot 97 FM (wqht), recruited DJ Naim to join them. The rising DJ went on to launch his first single “Hate Is the New Love” in that same year. The song featured Sheek Louch, Uncle Murda, and Graph and Pure. His next record was released in 2013; it was the hit track entitled“Crispy Hunneds,” which featured Jim Jones, Maino, Gunplay, and David Rush.

On top of his DJ skills, he also possesses an entrepreneurial side to him. The business-savvy DJ also doubles as an event promoter coordinating and marketing the hottest small-scale and large-scale events in the area. His versatile personality helps him adapt from partying in the streets to attending corporate meetings.

One of his most notable projects is the annual celebrity bowling tournament, which is held in New Jersey. Well-known artists and personalities such as Super Bowl champion Plaxico Burres, legendary reggae artist Sean Paul, Yandy Smith, Kid Ink, Funkmaster Flex, Dream Doll, Raekwon, and many more have partied in DJ Naim’s event. The annual bowling tournament, indeed, shows that New Jersey knows how to party, celebrity-style. The rising DJ is eyeing expanding the tournament to the sports of basketball as well.

Today, DJ Naim continues to rock night clubs and shows. With the rapid advancement of technology such as Zoom, he is using new and modern approaches to ensure more exposure for his events and projects. Currently, he is also a growing influencer on social media with over 15,000 followers, and he is using that influence to continue putting New Jersey’s nightlife into the American spotlight.
