What does it take to rise above trials and still have the undying ambition to reach for your dreams? Anyone asking such a question should head straight to hip-hop artist, Acezz, because he’ll surely have the answer.
Now and then, an artist bounces back from overwhelming challenges and tests and climbs up the ladder of musical renown and success. One such artist is Acezz, a prolific lyricist and explosive rap star who is making waves on streaming platforms with his eclectic and electrifying music.
Acezz has written, recorded, and released a wide selection of songs in past years. He started in 2016 by releasing EPs and singles like the tracks “My Bruda,” “Hangup,” “2 Bick’s,” featuring Geekgod, “Blessed,” and “We Be Lit,” to name a few of his earlier tracks. In 2018, he launched his first full album entitled Suits and Champagne, which included eleven solid tracks, and he worked with artists like Geekgod and CV-Queen. The album became an independent hit, with the most famous track, “Introvert,” hitting over thirty thousand streams on Spotify. Other songs on the album included tracks like “Goosebumps,” “Hang Up,” “Itch,” “No Lie,” and “Gossip” with CV-Queen, to name a few.
The year 2019 was quickly the artist’s busiest year as he released a barrage of songs packaged up in three albums: Full Deck, Suits and Champagne 2, and Flame Up. The three albums brought together a total of twenty-eight hard-hitting tracks that stormed the hip hop scene.
Acezz was born James Eugene Hill, the Fourth, in Tallahassee, Florida. Later James would move to Wildwood, where he would find his true love for music. He first started pursuing music at sixteen years old when he produced his first-ever mixtape. But six years ago, he decided to pursue music as a career. Life has not always been easy for Acezz. He has been through many heartbreaks, including the loss of a child, Jayden Hayes Green, who passed away in 2014. In retrospect, his most significant trials shaped and formed him and his music to what they are today.
James’ first big break came when he signed a contract with producer Percival Wallace of Pstunna Productions, LLC. Acezz would later get the chance to network with major A&R companies, productions, entertainment groups that would propel Acezz music career to new levels.
What sets Acezz apart as an artist is his willingness to work hard and be consistent. “I’m never the type to get or feel complacent with anything,” he shares. “I believe there is always room for change and that slow progress is better than no progress. I’m going to continue to run it and get in where I fit in!” Acezz has an unmistakable drive to excel in everything he does and rarely takes no for an answer. He has what it takes to make it big in the music industry, and with time, it’s likely that he’ll become a brand of music people everywhere will want to follow.
Currently, the artist works a full-time job at the Glenview Country Club as he continues to build on his music side hustle. His greatest inspiration has to be his family. Acezz is the father of Adeline, who remains his rock and motivating force.
