Kanye West, best known as Ye, may have fallen from grace, but his past antics continue to be a hot topic today.
According to a former employee at the Yeezy shoe line at Adidas, they lost their job after making a small suggestion.
The story
The former Adidas employee revealed that they panicked during a typical day in the office when a colleague asked Kanye West to switch the music.
According to a story from Rolling Stone, Ye was blasting his own songs on the speakers.
While some enjoyed the music, others did not.
The room was filled with an extraordinary crew of designers and apparel makers who were lured away from Europe’s top fashion houses.
A worker asked Kanye West to switch the music playing.
The rapper looked around the workplace and over at the then-employee.
Kanye West then asked the staffer what they preferred to listen to over his back catalog.

The request
According to Rolling Stone, the worker was more inclined toward punk and rock over hip-hop.
“I thought, ‘Oh, he’s a rapper, I should probably mention some rap,’” the ex-employee said.
Despite the good intentions, the former worker forgot that they were dealing with one of the most chaotic figures in music.
The employee then suggested that Kanye West put on some Drake.
“Big mistake,” the former employee said. “The next day, I was fired.”
Other events
While the random firing was uncalled for, it wasn’t the only one to come out of the brand while Ye worked with the Yeezy shoe line.
Rolling Stone spoke with several former employees and revealed that abrupt firings were normal at Yeezy.
Staffers described the office as ‘a revolving door of talent.’
The office culture made workers feel like their position with Yeezy was in constant jeopardy.

Adidas
Since Kanye West made problematic and antisemitic comments online and in the press, many brands cut ties with the rapper.
Adidas is among those that parted with Ye.
Although ending the deal cost them hundreds of millions of dollars, Adidas is cracking on with Yeezy shoe sales.
However, they will sell them under a different name.
According to CNN, Adidas believes that with the intellectual property of the Yeezy range, they will continue to profit from the line.
Harm Ohlmeyer, the Adidas finance chief, elaborated during a quarterly earnings call, saying:
“Going forward, we will leverage the existing inventory with the exact plans being developed as we speak.”
