In the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic—New Rochelle, NY—is a group of young entrepreneurs set to create a community of amateur gamers who play for fun while also gaining profit in the process. They are Game Head Inc.
The company’s objective is to connect nonprofessional video game enthusiasts from all around the world through a platform that provides free gaming for all. In the process, members of the club get the chance to earn serious revenue for sending video content to the company of them playing EA sports FIFA, Fortnight, NBA 2k, or Call of Duty.
The company looks to launch some big projects in the days to come. One of their new initiatives is an online competition that looks to give a total of $12,000 worth in prize money to select amateur players in the next six months. Their goal is to create a community of new gaming fans while also allowing others to generate income from the safety of their own homes. To the company, the gaming industry is a society waiting for influencers to rise. They hope to be one of those early risers and dominate the market.
The company hopes to create a reality TV show soon that would feature some of their tournaments for amateurs. Their goal is to become a version of game reality shows like American Idol and The Voice, but for eSports. Currently, Game Head is taking serious steps to make this happen.
In recent days, the company’s CEO David Zogo had the privilege to present its business model to the Mayor of New Rochelle, New York. The executive’s vision is also to use the platform to provide a livelihood to potential content creators. The latter are looking to replace lost income due to the economic downturn orchestrated by the COVID-19 crisis. Because Game Head Inc. is an internet-based company, its creators can earn while continuing to practice social distancing. In the company’s reports, gamers from developing countries like Ethiopia would earn a wage that is astronomically higher than their country’s average monthly salary of $250.
Taking an active role in the pandemic is something the company takes seriously. All members of the company have had family members and close friends who were infected by the novel coronavirus. David, the company’s CEO, lost a good friend, mentor, and “grandmother figure” to the disease- Dr. Bishop Primrose James, who died of COVID-19 in April 2020. In remembrance of her memory, the company will be launching the Prestigious Primrose Trophy, an award given to winners of Xbox and PS4 contest, which includes the title of Primrose Trophy awardee plus $500 cash prize.
Next month, Game Head Inc. is giving $20,000 away for free, as they believe in people over profit. They are focusing on the five boroughs, Nassau County, and Westchester, where $10,000 will be given to play FIFA. All it takes to have a chance to win is to send a video on Instagram, telling the team why the participant thinks they are the most entertaining superstar and why they deserve to win $10,000.
They are also giving another $10,000 for a charity Fortnite match played by NY State lawmakers. This is because they are calling on politicians to take a 20-minute break from campaigning to put people first. Politicians will play each other in Fortnite, and whoever wins gets to choose who to give the money to. It has to be someone from their district who has been severely impacted by COVID-19 and who has the most compelling story.
This initiative is costing the team greatly, but they are sacrificing everything to make a difference in this pandemic-stricken world.
