The pop punk band Curt Cannabis is on the rise. With lively and fun tunes that turn into instant earworms, the musical quad is leaving a mark in rock enthusiasts’ hearts and minds all over.
The band features four heavily decorated musicians: Curt Yeoman, guitarist and producer Brian Dinger, bass player Brian Bundy, and drummer Matt Call. The band’s story starts with frontman and founder Curt, a long-time musician who has fronted multiple big-name bands like Wolfgang and From Adam. Curt worked as a producer who went on to help develop material for various garage bands and Grammy Award-winning artists.
Collectively, the four bring energy to any room with their catchy melodies and electric performances. Curt Cannabis came together for more than just music. For all four members, the band is about giving the best possible performance for any audience that wants to have a good time.
Recently, the band has released a single entitled “Falling Sensation,” which has met all expectations. The track features a massive drumbeat, crunching guitar, and a deep bass line to accompany vocals that transport people into a huge mosh pit of celebration. The song speaks about a colorful yet almost tragic story of loss. “It’s about real life,” shares the Curt Cannabis frontman Curt when asked about “Falling Sensation.” “Sometimes life sucks. Sometimes it seems perfect. Learning to balance those two is the trick.” The band also released a music video for the track on March 11, 2020, which has gathered over 3,600 views since its launch.
On March 27, 2020, the band also released their first EP album entitled Saved My Life. The record features seven tracks, including songs “Face,” “Pushing Paper Bridges,” “A Story (Saved My Life),” “My Own (Hand Held Messiah),” “So You Say,” “Make Me Laugh,” and the previously standalone single “Falling Sensation.”
As a band, Curt Cannabis thrives on personal relationships with the music. They contend that playing for a crowd who want to have a good time is always better than performing in front of thousands who want only to fight. To them, it’s not about the fame or the glory. It’s about creating music that people will remember for a long time.
The members of Curt Cannabis have supported some of the biggest bands in the music industry. They’ve opened for acts such as Z.Z. Top, Puddle of Mudd, Daughtry, Winger, Salia, Foghat, Pat Benatar, Head East, Quiet Riot, Seen Dust, Stone Sour, Powerman 5000, Switchfoot, and Tantric, to name a few. Their vast history of playing together and as solo acts have brought a very unique and memorable sound. “I think we have something very special,” shares guitarist Brian Dinger. “There are some songs that may be brought into the ‘Cannabis Zone’ from days past. I’m excited about what the future may hold.”
Curt Cannabis looks forward to playing for live audiences as soon as the world resumes a certain normalcy level after the COVID-19 pandemic. To learn more about the band and listen to their music, visit their official website, YouTube channel, and Spotify account.
